It irritates me when people drag their kids along to "adult" gatherings. Then you have these children running wild over everyone. If you have nowhere to take your kid, stay home. Don't show up to a crowd of people, let your brain go numb, unchain the child, and call it a vacation while they trample over others. How convenient. And then they have the nerve to lecture anyone else. All I see is someone trying to boss around a five-year-old who clearly doesn't listen to them because they have zero authority.
The important thing is that she’s busy mocking me for reading, learning, and seeking answers... please. Go ahead, give the little girl some juice and a few pieces of chocolate right before bed. Don't bother brushing her teeth either. Let her get a cavity so you can wonder why it happened. It's predictable. 😛😛
The next time some mother with an undisciplined kid tries to lecture me with that "you'll see" nonsense, I’m going to tell her to focus on raising her own child instead of trying to educate mine.
I have certain perks at my local grocery store. The staff likes me because I don't lose my cool when the lines are long, and I frequently let elderly ladies cut ahead of me. Today, the cashier asked if I was pregnant. I told her yes. She just nodded and said, "Well, good to know." 🤣🤣
I am curious to see how they treat me next time I'm standing in line. 😬
As for my actual identity... only my family knows. 😁 Everyone else is entitled to nothing. 🥳
My mother caught me off guard today(😬). She said I haven't gained weight, my stomach just looks a bit larger.
I know she’s being honest; she never sugarcoats anything for me.😁😁
And my father-in-law is getting on my nerves again. He keeps hovering, lecturing me about not eating enough or acting like I'm starving myself. It's ridiculous. I can't eat every single time he feels like picking a fight. Besides, I have plenty of food; I don't need his permission or his handouts to eat. 🙄🙄
I hope this obsession with micromanaging me ends soon. I am tired of hearing his fixations. Today, I told him I can't have ice cream because I'll spike my blood sugar and end up in the Mayo Clinic. We'll see if that shuts him up for any length of time.
Thankfully, my mother-in-law isn't breathing down my neck. But I doubt that will last much longer...😢
edit—There. That was how long it took since I last explained my diet to him. "Oh, come on, you have to eat something, don't starve yourself..."
Whoever said he was charming should probably stay away from him for at least a week.☕
William Perez4 said:but honestly, he sounds pretty sweet 😍 don't be like that 🙂
🙂That’s just the alcohol talking. It's the same when he sees me making dinner and calls us all down to eat. Nothing about him is sweet, believe me. I’m not some ungrateful woman complaining for the sake of it. 😉
My brother-in-law. He asked me five times if I wanted ice cream. I told him clearly and loudly five times that I didn't. Now he shows up with this massive bowl, probably half a pound of the same stuff. I had to fight the urge to snap at him and ask if he’s deaf, stupid, or just plain rude.
"I just wanted you to cool off," he says. I don't care what he wanted; if I said no, the answer is no. I told him to take it back to the freezer because I am not eating it, period. Please. Act like an adult and then play the martyr. I'd honestly prefer if he focused on controlling his alcoholism rather than forcing ice cream on me. 🙂
Then there's my mother-in-law, making comments about how I've put on weight, claiming it's just my stomach. I simply remind her that I was fit and attractive before her son ruined me. ☕
Sometimes I point out that I'm only 26 and have plenty of time to lose the weight. She can't handle that because she's obsessed with the fact that she's getting old. 😁
It's pathetic. 🙂
Even my own mother tells me I need to watch my weight, but she says it out of genuine concern that I'll overdo it during pregnancy. It isn't coming from malice, unlike that woman. 😠

It hurts to see, but I know his conscience is going to eat him alive regarding his son, and he isn't made of stone either... and I just get it, at the end of the day, she's his mother...
Mine will do the same. But hopefully, the welfare of their fragile children will eventually outweigh their mother's mental health—which, frankly, is already a disaster if they're resorting to these methods... ☕
To be blunt: I wouldn't be surprised if my own child tried to force-feed me a bottle. As unbelievable as that sounds. 😢.
Anyone who hasn't dealt with someone like this truly has no idea. 😢.
And regarding that logic—just because she gave birth to him doesn't mean he's a good man. Even murderers have children, and those children aren't necessarily killers.🤷
Nathan Kelly said:Look, you shouldn't be quite so hard on her. At the end of the day, she’s just an old lady, much like your own mother 😉
I don't want to push her away, but I need her to actually act like a grandmother. She needs to stop trying to play mother; that's clearly her obsession. I just want her to enjoy being a grandma—take a walk, hang out, and do the fun stuff. I won't have her usurping my role. Furthermore, she needs to realize that we aren't interested in her constant sentimentality. I'm tired of her endless stories about how emotional everyone was back when she was in the delivery room. It’s not just cliché; it’s genuinely exhausting. Disgusting. Absolutely revolting. She doesn't concern me; she just keeps moving. Look, she gave birth to my three children. She raised them exactly how she saw fit. Now she thinks she can dictate my pregnancy, my family, and my entire life. It isn't happening.
Reasoning won't work with her. You'll have to fight her tooth and nail to settle this.
To be completely honest, it would actually be easier if she lived nearby so I could head back to work after six months and have her watch the baby since she's retired—my mom works, and she pulls some pretty insane shifts. It wouldn't even bother me; if anything, since this is my first kid, I'm going to be clueless about how to even hold them or change a diaper properly, so I'll actually need the help, at least for a little while. What I'm saying is—take what you need when it's offered, but ignore everything else and do things your own way. Period. 😍
My mother is a nurse, and one of her friends is a home health nurse who will likely be assigned to me. That should provide enough guidance on the basics, like bathing the infant. 🤷
Since I am not working, I won't need anyone to babysit while I'm at the office.
It is better to keep her at a distance. You can never tell if someone is being sincere or just lying to your face. I know she will try to interfere in everything. I am not used to people inserting themselves into my life. You can't simply ignore her; she is the ultimate drama queen.
Charles Moore49 said:Ugh, she really needs to get it together... especially since it's my first grandchild... at first, I didn't mind it too much and let her be a bit affectionate because, you know, a woman should be happy, and I didn't know how to tell her that I wasn't going to let her touch my son🙂 I think I mentioned this before, but once she actually told me, "Let me see the grandson," and there I was, lying there in the middle of winter in just a camisole and a t-shirt, tucked under a heavy blanket... and she actually expected me to show off my bare stomach🙂🙂 so I just lifted the blanket slightly and said, "Here he is"... Goodness, I feel like I'm being a nuisance to everyone by constantly venting about my mother-in-law, even though I've been pouring my heart out here on this forum for months now... In the end, she just wouldn't leave me alone, constantly dropping by or buzzing my phone—I couldn't even pretend I wasn't home because I spent most of my pregnancy just resting—and she was already making all these grand plans for when I give birth, insisting she'd come over every single day to help me, watch the baby, change diapers... blah, blah, blah... I feel like I'm repeating myself for the hundredth time... eventually, I just snapped, but that's a much longer story... truthfully, our issues ran much deeper than that... and I believe we've finally moved past it for good...
In our family, the first grandchild is everyone's priority on both sides. It's strange; my family cares for me, but nobody hovers over me or tries to touch me. No one tells me my belly looks too big for how far along I am—even though it hasn't changed much. But she insists she knows better. Everyone tells me the same thing: "Just let her be, look how happy she is." 🙂
Now she’s claiming she’s coming to the hospital with me. God knows what other plans she has. She’s even hysterical with my father-in-law about how she won't get to be a grandmother every single day.😱 Thank God we don't live with her.🙏🙏 I want to distance myself from her gracefully before the baby arrives. If I don't, she will destroy my mental health. I don't need someone watching me nurse, bathing the baby, or hovering all day. I refuse to let her turn my child into some creepy little weirdo just because that's her worldview.😠
Whatever happens, I'll end up being the villain who won't let the poor woman see her grandchild. As if I got pregnant just to provide her with a new toy.😢
Charles Moore49 said:😂😂 my mother-in-law was constantly leaning over and kissing my belly🤮😱🙂
I won't even get started on how much she was touching me, and then, around the ten-week mark, she claimed that just a little longer and she'd be able to tell me if we were having a girl or a boy—as if by some sort of magic or divine prophecy...🤣 She would hover her hands near me, almost like she was walking across my stomach, circling my bump with her palms and insisting, "Oh, it's definitely going to be a boy"...🙂 😂
For a moment, I was actually quite annoyed because she "guessed" correctly, which just made her feel incredibly wise and smug about her own intuition...🙂 🙂
Are we sharing the same mother-in-law?
It’s all waiting for me. Before she even dared to lay a hand on me, she went out and bought these little baby figurines. She bought two, because that's just how she is. Known. Twins are on the way. People are bragging about how they’ll be raised by German grandparents and talking about their future connections. Now, she's suddenly pivoting to wanting a boy. She thinks it'll be better that way. Of course. It’s just being a grandson—that's all there is to it. He just knows..
I’m ready to end it all. I can't stand these nauseatingly sweet, overly sentimental outbursts from some ultra-sentimental Western mother-in-law.🙂🙂
She started calling me at all hours of the morning just to check in. I was seconds away from telling her that if she rings my phone one more time before sunrise, I'll track her down and make her eat that damn cell phone.🙂🙂 She still hasn't accepted that I don't spend my entire day hunched over a toilet bowl. She acts horrified every time I head out to a cafe in downtown Chicago, yet she had the nerve to call me just to ask if I’d bring her an umbrella so she wouldn't get soaked walking to her place. It's exhausting. Truly pathetic.
I have no idea who else provides the backing tracks. Usually, it’s just some local guys from the neighborhood, maybe some former folk dancers or something. I happen to know this specific group, and honestly, my conscience wouldn't let me recommend them before, but they seem to have actually gotten serious lately. I don't know about their rates, though. I sent you their contact info via DM so you can check for yourself.😉
As for Cadence? Those guys are from Tennessee. They’ve matured a bit, so I think I can recommend them without looking foolish. 😬 My only uncertainty is their pricing. If you want the contact info, I can send it via DM. 🙂
That hall is an absolute disaster for any wedding with guests who actually want to dance. Ask me how it works—some guy shoved me so hard I pulled my leg when I slammed right into one of those hideous mirrored pillars. There were maybe twenty of us dancing, and that was a week before my own wedding. Hehe. Maybe I’m being biased, but while the room looks nice, those pillars are a total handicap for dancing and sightlines. The table layout is awkward, too; you basically have to stand up just to see what's happening.
They handled our shoot. I’m satisfied. You won't find a better value for the money. Aside from them, I only respect Zoom; they're on par. Everyone else is decades behind.
Jeffrey Walker3 said:I don't think it's gonna be some massive blowout wedding since my side of the family probably won't even hit 100 people. Maybe we'll barely scrape 50! 😬
Honestly, I'm leaning towards Peric right now—I actually went to one of their weddings once before 🙂 As for bands, my top pick is definitely 100 percent them, though I still need to do a little more digging...
So what’s the total headcount? If it's a small wedding, wouldn't Peric be overkill? I haven't heard of those bands, so I have nothing to say about them. 🙂
Well.. it all comes down to your personal taste and how much square footage you actually need..
Do you have a list of venues in mind? I have been to a few halls myself.. It is best to tour them all, ask the right questions, and then make a calculated decision.😉
