I am telling you, the flower shops in Savannah are fantastic. It isn't just my opinion; it's a fact. Plus, getting a ride to the restaurant is either free or incredibly cheap...🙂I'll go with the ones that were right by the entrance. I don't want that glass version, though; I'll take the one with the wrought iron candle holders...

Honestly, from the moment I saw Arbanas’s suits in the window display, I knew he had to be wearing one of them.. 😍 It’s just frustrating he wasn't there on Friday, since getting to Indianapolis over the weekend was out of the question for me. No matter.. we will head straight to the store next time.. 😁

I am scheduled to visit that bakery owner this week to get the specifics. I have contacts at two other shops as well. I don't have those details on hand right now, but I will update you once I do.

The trade show was an absolute disaster. Anyone hoping to actually find anything useful was disappointed. It was overcrowded, disorganized, and frankly, low-quality. Not a single decent jeweler in sight—just two booths full of cheap suits, and even then, there wasn't a trace of anyone from high-end boutiques on Friday. A complete waste of my time.🙄

The town is called Rustica... a bit clumsy of me. She prepares them by the tray; you get 30 pastries—15 varieties, two of each—weighing roughly 1.2 kg. A single tray costs $23. You can borrow her sturdy trays with lids and return them later, which is convenient since I have no use for extra Tupperware. They are available for purchase at $1.75 per unit. I'll report back on the flavor once I've sampled them, but my friend swears by them. She is incredibly picky, so I trust her judgment. I just want my sugar fix, so I'll head there 😬 😬

I am heading over to Savannah in a few days to visit an old lady I heard about. Word is her desserts are absolutely legendary. My godmother orders from her regularly, so I figure it's worth a shot. The best part is she packs them in a way that they stay chilled, so you don't have to stress about them melting during the drive. I will let you know if they actually live up to the hype once I try them.😉

And yes... she is fully certified...

I paid my musicians upfront back in February of last year for their services through October of this year. It wasn't just early; it was nearly too late.

I'm not sure. I received all my sacraments at a different parish, and when we went to ask the priest, he just told me to get a fresh copy of my baptismal certificate and call it a day. But honestly, you should probably just check with them directly—requirements vary from place to place.🙂

M&M's prices fluctuate depending on the guest count. For our group of 450 to 500, we gave them an estimate up to $2,500. Regarding flowers... Palm is great, but they’re popular, so they tend to gouge you. I’d suggest visiting several places to see what fits your style. Personally, my favorites are Palm, Stella, and Iris—and those last two actually have reasonable pricing.

You can check thank-you card options through your photographer; most offer something. If you find something you love, order it directly from him. Otherwise, you can look at florists, bridal boutiques, or just head to a local print shop. Prices vary wildly, from basic colored cardstock to high-end designs, but nothing is cheaper than the absolute basics. If you have more questions, ask. I went through this process fairly recently. 🙂

One thing: when you go to negotiate the venue, don't go alone. If your fiancé can't make it, bring someone else. You need to be extremely careful about how you finalize the agreement because there is significant money involved. These venues often leave loopholes in their contracts, and the final price rarely stays what was originally quoted. Research their service fees thoroughly and double-check everything ten times over. I haven't experienced it personally since we haven't had our meeting yet, but I've heard plenty of warnings from people who hosted weddings there. This isn't just about M&M's, though I'm mentioning her specifically because I already put down a deposit with her.

I know from experience that plenty of women order flowers from our local shop for their homes, and it doesn't change a thing regarding the price. I visited Indianapolis recently and was frankly stunned by the figures being thrown around. It’s absurd. I find it hard to believe their prices are actually higher than elsewhere, especially after my time at Chloe. I don't care for excess; I prefer minimalism over gaudy displays. For table arrangements, he insisted on $20 when all I wanted was a candle and some ivy. It felt somewhat insulting. Now, I am paying $25 or $35—depending on whether the candles are short or tall—to get exactly what I want instead of what someone else dictates. It is certainly worth traveling to a closer shop just to compare rates.

I’ve been scouring everything for wedding trifles. Bouquets, boutonnieres for the groom, the wedding party, parents, and bridesmaids. Most guests will just get rosemary since I have plenty at home. 😁😁 Centerpieces for our table, the cocktail hour, the dessert station, about 30 table arrangements, decorating two cars, and helium balloons around the dance floor. There is more, though I can't recall it all right now. It’s coming out to roughly $1167 total...

It’s true. My cousin got married last May. They booked their venue nearly two years in advance for $1,800. We waited until just two months before our date to book this year's venue, and we're paying $2,500 for the exact same place. It's a disaster. This is why you have to keep every single estimate and receipt. As for flowers in Indianapolis, they cost twice as much as they do in Dakota. Everywhere I went, vendors tried to force their own "creative" ideas on me—designs that aren't even physically possible. It was exhausting.

quietlynx40 said:So, ladies, shouldn't we be looking to settle down in our neck of the woods? If that's not the case, then 😢 By the way, I recently heard about this lounge or restaurant called Green Grove or something similar located in a small town in the Midwest, but I can't find a single thing about it online. No photos, no website—nothing! How am I supposed to find out anything? Driving all the way out there just to realize I wasted my time sounds like a terrible idea... 😢

Hey. My cousin was just working over there, so I can ask him what it’s actually like if you're interested. He mentioned something called Zelengaj.🙂 And where exactly are you from?

My partner is from the city, while I grew up in a small town out in the Midwest. All my sacraments were handled back home. We’ve been living in the city for a few years now, and when we stopped by the parish office recently to clear some things up, they simply told me I needed to bring my baptismal certificate. That was it. No drama, no nonsense. If they had tried to make things difficult or act unprofessionally, I would have lost my temper and said exactly what I thought. Honestly, if they had been wrong or rude, I probably wouldn't have even gone through with the church wedding.

Anthony Stewart8 said:Angela Davis74, please don't take this personally, but I happened to see some of the work from those Zoom video guys over in Des Moines recently, and I just can't bring myself to agree with you. I'm really not one to criticize people's work, but what I saw was honestly a bit of a disaster—not to mention that stolen footage right at the start of the video.
That said, I suppose you could say there's a buyer for everything, and from what I hear, they aren't asking for much money. But still, I can't help but feel that since a wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event, there shouldn't be any "do-overs" or second takes. You really ought to put a little more effort into creating something meant to last... you know, forever.

I hope you won't hold my comment against you; it's just my honest opinion based on what I actually witnessed.

Best,

Regarding pricing... everyone in that area charges roughly the same. I have no intention of paying $10 $0.00 or more for photos.
I have nothing against you. They filmed weddings for several of my friends, and everything was excellent. Look, it's the same everywhere: if you know the boss, you might get better service. That might be a factor. Regardless, based on my experience, I am satisfied, and they will be filming my events. It is all relative. It is like having a great dentist who fails one filling; suddenly, they are incompetent. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. If the photos you saw were bad, then they were bad. In my experience, every photo I saw was perfect. 🙂

Noah King33 said:Hey there, future brides and lovely ladies 😍, so I’m officially starting my hunt for a wedding dress, and I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find Pronovias or San Patrick gowns around St. Louis or the surrounding area? I have this specific vision in my head—I actually found exactly what I'm looking for in some of their Broche and Nerveo models...

Thanks for any help 😉

Check out Isabelle's boutique on Michigan Avenue.. near the Magnificent Mile..
They have a great selection and the prices aren't bad.. if I hadn't been set on Maggie Sottero, I would have gone there for sure..

granitesurfer18 said:Can anyone recommend a solid wedding photographer out in the Midwest? Doesn't matter what city they're based in.

I had a great experience with a duo out of Des Moines. Their work is solid. You get plenty of shots and the pricing is fair—certainly better than what I've heard some women paying lately.

I’ve been reading through the threads here and saw someone mentioned they already have a hall booked at Perdue over in Des Moines for September. I was wondering if that girl might be able to tell me what the booking situation looks like for August... are things already looking pretty full? We’re hoping to host something there too, but we won't actually start our serious search until after New Year's Day since we're currently living in Germany. My big worry right now is whether we'll miss out on a free date entirely... what do you all think? Is it cutting it too close to wait until early next year to start planning everything out and getting all our reservations locked in? Thanks!

Look, we checked out Mimi instead of Perdue, but they are just as busy.
The situation was this: back in February, we looked at dates for next September, and every single Saturday in August and September was already taken. Maybe a Friday was still open. They get incredibly crowded. However, they are building a new hall right next to Perdue—supposedly it holds up to 1,000 people. Apparently, they aren't even taking reservations until New Year's Day. I heard that, but I can't guarantee it. As for Perdue, I would suggest calling them just to ask.🙂

I should be charging $500 for these pastries. I have a local baker making them with her own ingredients, $0.50 giving me one free pastry regardless of whether it's dry or filled with cream. Custom cakes are ordered separately and run about $33 each. The quality is guaranteed, so there's no concern there. Now, I just need to convince my husband to drive me over to her shop so we can finalize the details...

Glad I could help. Just make sure you hold your ground when you head in to negotiate. They'll try to steamroll you like amateurs if you let them. Stand firm and don't let them play games. Ask every single question now so there are no excuses later. It’s the same story everywhere you go. 🙂
