I’ve been sitting here reading through all your comments and advice, and there is one thing I’m really curious about. I have my wedding coming up in just four months, and we need to head out to pick up our wedding bands soon. Does anyone know if it’s better to shop for them in Indianapolis or maybe somewhere like Columbus? It might be a little off-topic, but I’m genuinely wondering...🤷 ..
We bought our bands at Nikoline in Indianapolis, right by the gallery. I don't know how many shops you've checked yet, but ours are 7mm and have a comfort fit so they don't dig into the finger $667. They had the best selection I found after checking all of Indianapolis and the surrounding areas .
Since when was Mia's price $2,500? I put down my deposit for it last year at $2,300..
It doesn't matter. I haven't been to the new hall personally, but I've seen the photos. Everything is white and the space is massive. Anything you put on the tables would need to be huge, otherwise, the whole thing looks sterile. A friend attended a wedding there and her only comment was that she kept waiting for a nurse to roll by with medication. I don't know. Mia feels warmer to me. That’s why I chose her. Everyone has their own preference.🙂
And just to be clear, I am not criticizing anyone or anyone's taste. I am simply stating my opinion.
I’ve settled on this cake. Out of everything I looked at, this was the only one that stuck. I'll probably add some ribbons, and instead of gerberas, I'll likely go with orchids.😍

My friend and I used the makeup services at Cosmoderm for her wedding party. The results were beyond words. They specialize in a natural look using high-end products. Despite the sweltering heat that day, my makeup didn't budge. It was actually difficult to wash off the next morning. I am usually skeptical about these things, but the quality was undeniable. As for hair, I can't speak to their work. I stick to my regular stylist at a local salon—someone I'd never visit if she weren't there—and my hair stays perfect despite being unmanageable. However, I have heard the hair stylist sharing space with Cosmoderm is excellent.
At my aunt's place, you can buy those serving plates with lids for $1.75, or just return them after the wedding festivities... 🤷 They hold about 2.6 pounds of pastries.

Does anyone know if she lives up to the hype? And honestly, does anyone have an idea what her pricing looks like? Also, I was wondering about Sweet Treats too... if anyone has any intel on them, I'm all ears...
I highly recommend Sweet Treats...👍 I buy them, my godmother buys them, and plenty of others I know do too. They look great and taste even better.
If several women have already announced they’re coming and have booked their slots, don't expect to find any openings left to squeeze yourself into. That's why you make a reservation early...
I’ve attended plenty of weddings there, and they were generally fine, provided they didn't overstuff the venue. When they cram too many people in, seating becomes an issue. The chairs are packed so tightly you practically have to shove your way through the aisle just to stand up. Otherwise, everything was great. There were a few unpleasant incidents, but I won't air them here; if you're interested, send me a private message. 🙂The venue itself is quite beautiful, though.😉
You could try Isabelle too... maybe you'll find something more affordable there. There's also Mireya; they carry Sposin dresses. Honestly, there are plenty of other boutiques with various styles, but their prices are generally lower than at OS.

But what I'm actually hunting for is a hair clip or maybe a comb... something with a bit of a romantic vibe. I couldn't quite find that specific style there. 😢
There are plenty of treasures to find in thrift stores... everything from jewelry to hair accessories. I recently stopped buying Swarovski; it felt too sentimental, and I'm just not that type of person. However, you can find incredible pieces here for next to nothing.🙂I found them while browsing through Chicago. I'm not sure if those little shops are still around elsewhere, but I assume they are.🙂🙂
Would a suit, shirt, and tie exceed the $4,000 mark? I'm starting to worry about that. My husband can be... let's just say, rather tight-fisted when it comes to clothing expenses. I'll find a way to make him pay for it, though. 😬
I know things are shorter nowadays, and my photographer—who is also filming—is doing a great job. I don't personally care about a DVD; I have no use for one. However, if it’s included in the package price, I expect it to be done properly. As far as everything else goes, there are plenty of options here in the States. But I knew exactly what I wanted from the start, which is why I didn't waste time shopping around. We will still wander through a few places looking for wedding rings and a suit, though I doubt we'll find anything we actually like at those local ethnic boutiques🙂. You need to have a clear vision. If you are indecisive, vendors will just take advantage of you, and you'll end up miserable on your wedding day because the decor isn't what you imagined. My brother had a disaster where they tried to DIY everything, leaving them with only one paid professional: the photographer. He was a complete catastrophe. In the church, a woman kept walking in front of the couple during the procession to take photos, while the videographer stood by the altar; the final footage was mostly just the back of the woman and the tops of the couple's heads. It was the same at the reception—they focused entirely on the couple and completely ignored the guests. Luckily, many of us had digital cameras, so we amateurs basically saved the day. They even tried to follow a specific choreography, announcing the timing so the videographer could prepare, yet he still ran out of tape right in the middle of the dance and had to swap it out. Who even uses tape cameras anymore? It was an absolute nightmare.
Of course. I have no desire to deal with a terrible group of in-laws either. If things don't go exactly according to her vision, there will be nothing but trouble..😠😠😁😁
Personally, I value physical photos more. There is something about flipping through an album that beats sitting in front of a TV screen. Of course, quality matters for both, but I prefer the tactile experience. I’ve never had any interest in watching wedding videos. Maybe it’s some lingering childhood resentment from being forced to sit through hours of someone else's wedding footage whenever we visited relatives.🤷 😬😬
