No way. I don't know a single soul in Mexico who has ever heard of Thompson, let alone knows his music. Honestly, I only heard about him for the first time on this forum. On the flip side, Tony was huge and loved in Mexico—and not just by young women like people claim here. The guy had charisma, he was humanitarian, and most importantly, he was a SINGER, unlike Thompson.
He wasn't some guy just raking in cash by playing on nationalistic feelings and flirting with old-school ideologies that kids should be embarrassed by.
The Mexican version of MTV would basically be "Little Baja," whom maybe 0.1% of the population actually listens to in St.
