God... I can't stand it when people start handing out unsolicited advice. It’s like, nobody asked. You’ll lose the weight eventually while you're nursing, just wait.
First off, I didn't ask anyone for their opinion in the first place...🙂:2up:
And second... what works for one person doesn't work for everyone. For some, breastfeeding is easy; for others, it's the exact opposite.
When I was nursing, it was a nightmare. I was constantly bloated and put on weight. My mother used to say the same thing—as soon as I stopped nursing, the pounds started dropping off. But then I got pregnant again, so it was back to square one.🙂
Hahahaha It was the exact same story with a friend of mine. By New Year's, she was still pretty heavy and kept saying, "I can't even go back to the office; I have nothing to wear." She stopped nursing, and honestly, she looks fantastic now.
Hannah Lewis2 said:😂😂😂 Pure genius. You could search the entire country with a magnifying glass and never find people this easy to talk to. 🤦
Honestly, my mom is starting to get on my nerves. We talk almost every single day, and the script never changes. It always kicks off with the same question—"Are you feeling okay? Is anything hurting?" And then it just spirals into this endless loop of nonsensical advice. Don't walk too much, stay out of the draft, dress warmer, use a blanket, put on shoes, eat more fruit, eat more bread, eat some meat, cook yourself a real meal, don't lift anything heavy... 🙄 🙄🙄 In those moments, I low-key just want to hear the sound of a phone receiver hitting someone's soft skull. My husband usually moves out of the room, just to be safe.
My grandmother is always calling me... if I don't pick up my phone immediately, she calls back like a maniac. Usually, I'm in the middle of a meeting or somewhere else entirely...
I don't get it. 🤷 If I'm actually sick or incapacitated, I'm not going to answer the phone anyway... 😂 Or it's the constant questions. How are you? What did you cook? What did I cook for the kid...
I know they mean well, but it’s driving me insane.

It had everything on it—strollers, car seats, cribs, even specialized medical gear, skincare, diapers, baths, monitors, mobiles, bedding... the whole nine yards. I even circled the total amount and bragged about how much money I’m saving us. 😉 Then I went on about those $1,000 strollers (when our entire setup costs maybe $1,400), saying it's insane how people waste money on useless junk just because they feel like they have to. 😁
He wasn't exactly thrilled, but he didn't make a huge scene either. I made sure to tell him that once we start shopping in two months, I'm calling the shots—I've already found everything, and I'm not picking the most expensive stuff, nor the cheapest garbage.
Ever since the pregnancy started, he keeps feeding me this line about what his coworkers told him—apparently, a bunch of guys at his job just had kids recently—saying you shouldn't buy anything and should just borrow everything. 😠I love hearing "advice" from unverified sources. Besides, I don't exactly have a stockpile of people to borrow from, and I have zero interest in taking certain things used by random acquaintances or complete strangers. Look, fine—maybe I'll borrow a few things here and there. But we've been waiting years for this baby and we can afford some decent gear. I don't want everything to be secondhand. 😛
That really used to get on my nerves too... But now that I'm expecting my second girl, I look back and realize how silly I was for buying certain things myself. 😂 But hey, what can you do?
Obviously, if you don't have anyone to ask, you aren't going to post "please lend me stuff" on Facebook Marketplace. 🙂
However, there are definitely things you don't need to rush out and buy immediately. You can always tell people to pick things up for you, since people usually ask if you need anything anyway.🙂
Eric Fowler3 said:It kind of bugs me how everyone in these classes keeps talking about breathing exercises, you know? Like, how to breathe through labor and all that... but honestly, once those contractions start hitting every three minutes and there isn't even a three-second break between them, none of that helps. Not the "ih ih ih" or the "ah ah ah"... deep breaths or shallow ones... you just breathe however you can in the moment... I don't know if they're just trying to keep us entertained or what...
Breathing actually matters quite a bit... Trust me on this one... Because I mastered proper breathing techniques, I can honestly say having a natural birth without an epidural was actually manageable... If you just gasp for air whenever you can, things are going to get ugly fast. Believe me. At first, I was breathing totally wrong—just grabbing at air whenever I could. Luckily, my husband had been paying attention during our classes 🙂 and the midwife and doctor kept reminding me too... so he forced me to get it right and actually counted the rhythm for me... During the actual delivery, they might only remind you twice how to breathe, and then they leave you to it. If you don't take it seriously, that's on you, but trust me, it makes a massive difference... I stuck to just two methods... During a contraction: huffing like you're blowing sand off your tongue. In between: a deep breath in through the nose, and out through the mouth...
It honestly grinds my gears that I can't just be straight with my own people.🙂 Then again, they can be about as pleasant as a bout of food poisoning sometimes.🙂 Last time we were together, they wouldn't shut up about... well, you know.
My bump is getting pretty big... probably around the 12-week mark by now. It’s not like it’s eating me alive or anything, but people keep asking if I’m actually 6 or 7 months along, or if I’m absolutely certain I’m not carrying twins.🙂 Apparently, the doctor missed it... Even with Dr. Koss doing his whole "deep dive" ultrasound routine, he somehow didn't catch that there are two little ones in there.🙂
It honestly drives me crazy how mindless banks, retail stores, and just about every other institution can be. There’s absolutely no mention of priority access for pregnant women anywhere in their policies.
placidwalker6 said:So I walk into Walmart today, right? They’ve got those priority lanes for pregnant women and people with disabilities. Naturally, there are ten people standing in front of me. 🙄 Look, I’m not about to start shoving my way through the crowd—I’m not that kind of idiot—so I just stand there. This woman in front of me clearly notices both me and my bump, but she goes into full-on ignore mode. 🙄 Then, out of nowhere, she turns around and asks, "Are you behind me?" I’m standing there all confused, like, "Yeah..." thinking maybe she’ll let me cut ahead since she saw the sign for General Electric above the register, but instead she goes, "Could you please watch my cart? I just need to grab one more thing." 😲 Honestly, I didn't know whether to burst out laughing or just lose it on her. 😲 The blessed North America, man. 🙄
It's pathetic...
The other day, nobody would even let me through because the priority lane wasn't open yet...
And there I am, visibly pregnant, with a 14-month-old jumping around in a stroller. Hahaha. Honestly, I hope people like that get hit by bad luck on both sides at once.
He actually had the nerve to call me frigid just because I said no.....😂 He was never satisfied either, because apparently, we’re supposed to be performing Olympic gymnastics on his junk instead of just being human. That was during my first pregnancy.....now he knows better than to push it.
Long story short, he hasn't seen any action in a long time after that.
Men are basically single-celled organisms driven entirely by testosterone and their own libido. They're slaves to it. Just punish him. Ignore him in every sense—words, attention, sex. You already know the drill; there's no point in explaining that you can't reason with someone like that. And don't back down.
My husband actually helps out quite a bit... though he can be a total stickler when it comes to things being tidy. He used to be a professional athlete, so he’s spent his whole life living by a strict routine—everything has to be orderly and done thoroughly. 👍 But don't get me wrong, he's constantly nitpicking. He'll ask why I left this here, or why I didn't iron this particular shirt, or why that's sitting there... It's endless. I do everything he asks eventually, but I am not ironing clothes every single day. I'll do it when I actually feel like it.
When it comes to food, though... 👎👎
He won't lift a finger. Honestly, he can't even manage to put dirty dishes in the dishwasher instead of just leaving them in the sink. He never helps me with that. Now that I'm pregnant, he's finally being forced to step up, but man...
I think he realizes how much of a pushover he's being 😂 so he refuses to even set foot in the kitchen... it's like that territory is completely off-limits in his mind. 🙂
Out of our entire circle of friends, we're the only ones with a house and a yard. So, whenever everyone comes over for a get-together, they naturally expect a BBQ. It’s always such a headache. I have to beg him, then argue with him, and eventually resort to threats just to get him to fire up the grill... because he just doesn't want to do it. Meanwhile, even with my pregnancy cravings and exhaustion, I can cook a massive meal for ten people without breaking a sweat.
And there's zero empathy for when I'm exhausted or in pain. But the second he has a slight fever or a stuffy nose? It's a non-stop drama all night long. He'll moan about how he won't be able to sleep tomorrow because his nose is bothering him so much that he can't rest... it's ridiculous. And
I absolutely loathe how he sleeps until 2 PM on the weekends. It drives me insane.
On the flip side, I'll give him credit for one thing: he's spotless in the bathroom. He always puts the toilet seat down after he's done and makes sure to wipe everything down if there's a mess. 😂
Every man has his flaws, but he has his virtues too.
Elizabeth Chavez33 said:Oh, please... they would all love to swap with us because... what exactly are we doing? We're just sitting at home, right? Just "babysitting" all day.🙄 But the second they actually have to stay home and watch the kid for an hour or two, they lose their minds. They're constantly glued to their phones, snapping at everyone and texting us to ask when we'll be back.😂 And don't even get me started on the physical pain. It’s been proven time and again that they're total wimps when it comes to actual discomfort. I’d really love to see how they’d handle labor.😂 😂
Yeah, right. As if.😂
When it comes to keeping things tidy, I'm a solid 5 out of 10. I definitely fall short there. But if I don't get my act together, he's already given me that look—the one that makes it very clear I won't be hearing any excuses.
I swear, I went gray from the stress of him in a heartbeat.😠
The bottom line is this: we reached an agreement. I handle the bulk of the daytime and nighttime shifts during the week, and he steps up once he's off work and throughout the weekends... just so I can actually catch my breath for once.
We'll see if he actually follows through, though.
As for the pain... please. If he gets a minor head cold, it's a national emergency. Imagine if he had to deal with actual monthly cramps. He'd be hitting up the ER every twenty-eight days.

Morgan Barnes3 said:Haha, looks like my weight has sparked quite the debate! Personally, when I think of "skinny," I'm picturing those runway model types—and that’s definitely not me, nor is it a look I’m ever interested in chasing. Honestly, nobody has ever called me skinny; people have always just put me in the "average" category, which is why I said I wouldn't call myself thin. I'm actually really happy with my body, and right now, I'm just sitting here happily enjoying some ice cream 🤣
I’d also love to join MrBeast in figuring out how to save up enough sleep for later in the day... haha, seriously though, if we actually found the secret to that, we'd be looking at a Nobel Prize
those girls fall into the anorexia category😉 Look, you didn't cause any real debate. We're all just messing around here.🙂

That's one of the dumber pieces of advice out there... I mean, someone please enlighten me... how exactly am I supposed to stockpile sleep?
Looks like I’ve already kicked off today’s thread... someone is always getting on my nerves. I’ve finally sorted myself out. My husband and I had a serious, heated blowout about them—which isn't exactly his style—but today he actually did me a solid 🙂
Yesterday really got under my skin again. I’ve noticed this pattern with certain friends—couples we usually hang out with—where they just subtly start sidestepping us when making plans... It’s like, "Oh, she’s gained some weight, so she’s not part of the group anymore."
I’m honestly feeling pretty let down. I noticed the shift happening a while ago, but now it’s actually starting to sting...
I have always been the one holding this entire social circle together. But now that I'm pregnant and my energy isn't what it used to be... I don't know. I can't go hiking up steep trails or stay out all night at a concert in downtown Chicago, and I definitely can't spend an entire day trekking through the Rockies on my feet. Suddenly, I guess we aren't "fun" anymore...
My husband tells me I shouldn't let it get to me—he’s just not wired that way. That actually made me incredibly angry. Actually, more than angry... disappointed.
My husband is driving me absolutely insane because he’s being a total couch potato 😂..haha..Look, normally he’s a huge help—he cleans up, stays on top of things, the whole nine yards. But now that he’s on vacation, all I want to do is get out of the house... and he just lies there...(And honestly, I know he still does a massive amount to help me out...) But still, I can't help thinking that instead of just sitting around, he could actually join me for a bit. A quick trip downtown, a hike in the park, hitting up Target or the local farmers market... something.
Instead, he’s just glued to the TV, watching the most brainless garbage imaginable.
hiddenscout362 said:😕 I don't get it. I haven't noticed anything like that myself? But hey, I guess unfortunately even in a virtual space, people act like that sometimes. 👎
Me neither... maybe I just haven't spent enough time digging through the forums.🤷 I don't get the whole clan thing either—who's with who, how it works, none of it makes sense.
