I finished watching a movie about an hour ago, and I’m still processing it. I’ve been pretty overwhelmed by stuff lately, but I haven't felt this scattered since I was nine years old watching a film that was way too mature for me back then (and no, it wasn't because it was porn 😁). Only this time, I wasn't disappointed—it was actually the exact opposite.
Anyway. I don't usually have a fear of heights, but there were moments where I genuinely felt terrified because 2,000 feet is no joke. One second of distraction, one wrong move, or just being a little careless, and you're dead 😵
I completely agree with anyone claiming this movie is a total horror genre experience for people who have acrophobia.
I think I could have survived the whole movie with a steady heart if it were just a standard thriller, except for that twist at the end (anyone who's seen it will know 😁, and I don't want to spoil the experience for others). Even though I was shocked and felt a bit mentally shaken, I think it was a really well-directed scene that gives the entire plot its purpose. Without it, the whole movie would have felt like trash.
On a side note, I have to give props to the actresses' assets ♡. I mean, I'm a guy 😁
I'd recommend this to anyone who loves adrenaline and tension, but isn't really into those tired tropes from classic action movies from the Ramb era or that Fast and Furious style where characters pull off impossible stunts without a single scratch.

Just finished watching it. I liked it! Forget Stallone or Arnold—their era is long gone, while Butler is just getting started!
After a decade of avoiding them, I finally decided to sit down for an action flick, and this one popped up. I’m pretty happy with it. I’d recommend it to anyone who isn't looking for deep philosophy or fans of old-school action that doesn't get bogged down in overly complex plots or excessive, hyper-realistic gore (honestly, that kind of stuff just isn't my thing). It’s not exactly a cinematic masterpiece or anything that’ll blow your mind—unless you haven't seen a movie in five years or just realized you actually enjoy thrillers—but it's perfect if you just want to kill some time and decompress from everything going on around you.

I think Ivo was originally cast as the farmer. There's a dedication at the end of the movie along with some footage of him because they actually filmed some scenes together, but since it wasn't finished, they had to restart from scratch with a different actor.

Just finished watching the movie. I have to say, it actually surprised me in a good way. There were a few mind-bending scenes that I didn't quite catch at first (honestly, my brain rarely processes any film 100% on the first pass).
The premise itself is built on an absurdity that doesn't feel stupid because, frankly, the kind of nonsense we deal with in real life is just as absurd. The main thing for me was the tension and uncertainty that hangs over the whole story. For a second there, I was actually worried it might end in tragedy—that seems to be the go-to move in most Hollywood movies, and in my opinion, it usually ruins a potentially great film. Luckily, that wasn't the case here.
People who are nitpicking too much about this one clearly don't get the nuances of the thriller genre. As far as that goes, I think it's pretty well executed. You don't need a hero jumping around like Rambo in every single thriller; those are more action movie tropes. We aren't looking at traditional heroes here, but rather anti-heroes. As the story unfolds, you realize the least corrupt ones are actually the "good guys" (again, they aren't perfect, but they’re definitely a lesser evil compared to the people who endangered innocent lives, especially children this time).
And I really have to address that silly comment about this being a "dangerous film for people with weak nerves." I mean, come on, even a basic TV commercial could trigger someone unstable (imagine if Coca-Cola was blackmailing, tracking, or hunting you down. It sounds crazy, sure, but the human brain is capable of all sorts of absurdities). Should we ban the production of kitchen knives just because some psychopath might use one to hurt a spouse or child? If so, maybe we should just use school protractors to slice up food, like how they cut the cake in the movie. 😁

I think there’s a necessary balance when it comes to being kind. Someone once told me, "Don't be a nice guy, be a good guy." It’s about helping people without making it a habit. If a friend is in trouble, lend a hand, but try to teach them how to handle things themselves next time. If you find yourself constantly playing the savior for the same group of people, you aren't going anywhere with them. They either need to learn how to dig themselves out of the holes they fall into—which, let's face it, is usually their own fault—or they'll just fail. Honestly, it's better to let them hit rock bottom than to let them drag you down with them.
It feels almost impossible these days to avoid being taken advantage of. Even if you're a genuinely decent person, you're bound to run into a manipulator at some point. Whether you're a "nice guy" or a "good guy," you'll encounter people who will exploit your kindness, and you'll have to decide how to handle them moving forward. Manipulators tend to gravitate toward empathetic people.
As soon as you spot someone like that, you should probably cut them out of your life. Living with those types of people is like holding onto a balloon full of garbage—eventually, it's going to pop. Don't let them start blowing up a new 🤣 once that happens. I don't know how else to put it without sounding a bit crazy 😵.

If you haven't seen the movie yet, maybe skip this—I wouldn't want to ruin the experience for you.
Not many people have told me they didn't like this movie. Most of the time, that was just their first reaction, but after seeing it a second time, they ended up calling it one of the best American films since the breakup of the South.
I’ve watched it at least five or six times now. The most recent time was just yesterday, but the very first time was probably nearly a decade ago. I remember seeing it once on PBS; I actually owned it on CD back then, though it took me a long while to get around to rewatching it. I always seem to find something else to watch, but this one just popped back into my mind out of nowhere. My only real regret about this movie is that I didn't sit down and watch it sooner.
I didn't really get the vibe that this was going to be a comedy at first. Most people seem to assume that movies coming out of Mexico are strictly comedies—probably because everyone grew up watching those legendary Žika Pavlović films from the crazy years—but that’s honestly not the case. I didn't have that same preconception, though; I was actually expecting a heavy-duty dramatic thriller. But after a few scenes, I finally relaxed and ended up laughing quite a bit, especially at some of the characters that bring the whole thing together.
I wouldn't go so far as to say this is the best film ever made in America, but I guess it’s definitely one of my favorites when it comes to the American psychological thriller genre.
