I'm totally serious!
It covers the B-list, all the checkups, and $22 monthly.
The only tricky part is that you have to pay upfront and send them the pharmacy receipts so they can reimburse you directly, or you can just offset it against your pay.
But hey, there's plenty of cash flowing in the game, so I don't mind at all!
I actually have a unique plan where my coverage is completely free!
So, you should definitely check in with all your insurance providers to see what their premiums look like and exactly what kind of benefits you're entitled to.
Where on earth is this mandatory registry they keep talking about?

shadownomad43, if we’re going to have a real discussion here, it would be super helpful to know which surgeries you've actually had, what specific illnesses you're dealing with, and exactly what happened during those times you went into cardiac arrest.
Your life, your call! But honestly, it feels a little much when you spend all this energy nitpicking everyone else's choices.

Man, what amateurs!
Four whole hours, just because some people had to come back a second day since they missed the deadline before closing
Typical!

I'm so sorry to see this contest being boycotted just because of who started the thread! You're all making a mistake by thinking this is "her" topic—she simply picked out some groceries as prizes for whatever the most popular American cuisine theme turns out to be.

I honestly think people are skipping it because of the timing; it's peak vacation season right now, after all!
It's also being "boycotted" because those specific ingredients are pretty hard to find at our local grocery stores.

And part of the "boycott" is just because everyone feels like the winner is already decided! 🤣 🤣 🤣
I seriously need to go buy myself a crystal ball, I really do!
Does anyone know where they have sales on those?

Of course it’s obvious! I only did that because Miller asked me to, so why was it such a big deal all of a sudden? 🙄
I still don't quite get why this is bothering you so much when you didn't make a fuss about similar things before. 🤷

Those other edits you mentioned in different threads were probably just necessary fixes—like resizing images, fixing broken links, or merging two posts together.
......

Alright, what exactly is bothering you about this?
What did you actually lose from it?
I’ve done the exact same thing for other members on various forums without any issues.
How is it that you didn't see those posts? There are way more edited posts than there are by DLAP.
Are you just being selective with your complaints?
Honestly, it doesn't really matter.😬

Personally, I don't deal in "it seems to me." I don't spend my time guessing intentions; I just take what people say at face value.
I'm not really built for reading between the lines—that's just not how my brain works! 🤷

And honestly, kudos to you for fixing those useless quotes on top of managing real life and all your regular moderator duties.

If only it were just that!
Between my full-time job, freelance gigs, family, and everything happening out in the real world... 🥳

There are plenty of posts that have been fixed upon request,
but clearly, those don't bother you! 😬
As long as a request doesn't disrupt the flow of the forum, I'm happy to help. It's truly a wash for me either way—no biggie!
I've also helped many users fix their images before. My policy is simple: if someone obviously made a mistake, I'll provide the right card for the image. But if they're just being stubborn for the sake of it, then that's on them!

And honestly, I don't see why it matters—why should anyone have to hide a friendship?

Wow, are you some kind of psychic now? Can you see the future? Look, I’m not saying that Dlap and I won't eventually grab a coffee together one day, but that hasn't happened yet.
I'm pretty picky about who I hang out with in real life, and Dlap isn't on that list right now.
If we actually were hanging out, I wouldn't be hiding it any more than I would hide anything else!

Olivia Murphy24 said:Come on, if everything is totally legit, then how do you explain how they can win a contest when the food doesn't meet the main rule—having a little note that says "Forum" in the photos?

Okay, fine, my eyesight is terrible—I practically need night vision goggles just to function.
But if you say so, then I guess this photo is just fooling me!🤷

Olivia Murphy24 said:And regarding you posting that contest to try and fix the bad vibes in the Foodie section—did you ever stop to wonder why the atmosphere got like that in the first place?

I used to be a moderator back in the day,
back when things were much more fun and the vibe was great!
But some of you probably don't remember because you weren't even on the site back then.

I haven't seen you posting recipes, joining discussions, or giving advice in the foodie threads... so please excuse my comment about not seeing your specific posts.
I thought I knew everyone in the foodie community pretty well, but clearly, I was wrong!

hollowtrucker77, I’m going to forward all the jury votes over to you so you can look through those PMs and see if my scoring was rigged at all
please reach out to the judges personally to confirm whether their messages were original or if they were tampered with
I’d really appreciate it if you could post the findings here, because honestly, I’ve had just about enough of these lies

We originally started these contests to fix the vibe in the culinary section. It used to be such a fun, lively community, but lately, it's become the exact opposite
The whole goal was to bring some fresh faces from other forums into our circle
But ever since day one, there’s been this constant drama in the off-topic section; it feels like every good idea gets dragged out forever

edit:
Also, please take a look at the second round comment thread regarding the deleted posts
and check out the main culinary moderator thread

It’s common knowledge that jadesailor14 and Dlap are actually close friends in real life. Doesn't that make her win in the last contest look a little bit suspicious? Especially since she totally ignored one of the main rules—you know, the part about including a note that says "Forum" in the photos!

.....

Even though we've chatted online, I don't think Jonathan Gray75 and I have ever actually met or even spoken in person!
I have no idea what she looks like, and she doesn't even know my name or what I look like!
So, you're calling that "common knowledge" of yours just a plain old lie? That's a bold claim!

You haven't posted anything constructive in the food forums or anywhere else since before I became a moderator; you only showed up to stir the pot!
Man, you've been insisting from day one that these contracts were rigged since we first started bidding!
Even now, we’re hitting the ground running from day one of this new round! I'm ready to go! Just send over the posts you need me to rewrite, and I'll get to work turning them into fresh, authentic American English. You already know who won, even though the rules clearly say the winner will be decided by a public poll!
Oh, don't worry—we’ll make sure to get that public survey set up too!
Could you please walk all of us through the process—mods and admins included? I would honestly love to learn how it's done!

Olivia Murphy24 said:Oh, for sure! Calling her lack of accountability "what's the point of a thumbs-up icon?" just isn't right. Half the people in the food industry use that little icon constantly because of her posts, but honestly, what's the use?

Aside from the moderators and myself, there are two other people receiving all the post reports. Both the super-mods and admins see them, so they’re well aware of just how many "triangles" we're dealing with and exactly what's being built out of these reports!
Or maybe not!

Is it actually possible to ask a moderator to fix a typo like that? I once had a similar mix-up on a message board back in Chicago, and it was such a relief when they cleared it up!

What exactly is bothering you about this? I'd love to hear what the specific issue is!
Hey, don't take it personally! That quote wasn't actually aimed at you, so there's really no need for all that.

I just love seeing these kinds of discussions pop up! It’s always such a breath of fresh air to see everyone sharing their thoughts. kaže:

According to that lady with the nasty attitude—you know, the one who loves calling me names like "sludge," "mud," "swamp," "trash," and "this whole messy forum"—she’s really on a roll today!

Did you end up reporting the post? I’m just surprised that none of us—the mods, supermods, or the admins—actually jumped on it!
Could you please send me the link for that?
Blood draws at the clinic in Health ·
urbanpilot said:I'm not buying it. If everything has to be done in the morning, fine—I'll just wake up earlier and head straight to my primary doctor. If I need blood work, they'll just do it right there. Results go straight to the clinic, and that's that.

They do the blood draws at the start of the morning shift—they mentioned 7:00 or 8:00 AM. They don't see patients during that window, and once that block is over, they stop drawing blood for the day.
You could show up at 4:00 AM if you really wanted, but the doctor won't see you until after 8:00 anyway, so you might as well just come back the day after tomorrow for your labs.
Basically, you can walk whenever you want; you just have to make sure you hit that one specific location.
Blood draws at the clinic in Health ·
urbanpilot said:Honestly, I’ve heard the same thing about how things work elsewhere, and it sounds better to me. No more endless waiting, and no more playing tag with your doctor—you know the drill: sprinting to the clinic one day for a referral, dragging yourself to the lab the next morning before 8 AM sharp just to get blood drawn, then trekking back in the afternoon to wait around for your doctor to actually look at the results.
As for the nurses' credentials? If they're qualified enough to handle IVs and injections, I don't see why they can't pull blood, too.

But they mentioned that at general practices, blood will still only be drawn in the mornings.
So, you’re basically stuck with the same routine.
You'll show up in the afternoon, then have to come back again the next morning for the blood draw, wait for processing, and then return the following day anyway.

I totally see how this works for smaller towns; it makes things much easier for patients there.
But honestly, in huge cities like New York City, I don't really see the point.
Plus, think about all the extra costs for transport and all that stuff.
It actually stresses me out thinking about it—I already spend 2 or 3 hours waiting at my doctor's office now, so I can only imagine the wait times once this new system kicks in.
Apparently, they said patient flow will actually slow down while the nurse is busy drawing blood, if what they're saying is true.

Give the non-emergency line

Barack Obama juice in Random / Off-topic ·
Sean Castillo said:So, I’ve got some elderberry flowers soaking in 5 liters of water until tomorrow, but I’ve seen this recipe floating around where you’re supposed to toss in the juice of three or four lemons—just the juice, though, not citric acid.

What’s the actual deal with citric acid here? Like, what happens if I skip it? My gut feeling is that the shelf life of the syrup is going to tank. Am I right?

And what about preservatives? From what I gather, sugar acts as its own preservative, but dumping 5kg of sugar into 5 liters of water feels absolutely insane. That's way too much.

Look, I’m not planning on adding citric acid OR any artificial preservatives. Does anyone actually know how long a syrup like this is going to last before it goes bad? Please help me out...

I haven't a clue! 😬
But I do know some people pour their syrup into half-liter bottles and stick them in the freezer
Is it good, though? Is it actually useful?.... 🤷
I wish I could swap places with my mom or dad for a bit! At least then someone would actually be listening to Grandma
Maybe move her into the living room?
How is that even possible given the layout of the house

My daughters share a room, and during finals week—even though their schedules don't overlap—they always end up dragging me into their drama. They'll stay up studying all night, so one wants total silence to focus while the other just wants to sleep peacefully!

If that one thread hadn't popped up today—the one where they're dragging my name through the mud again—this whole discussion wouldn't even be happening.

And just to be clear, I’m not asking for anyone to get banned on my command. If you really want to know, I just think we shouldn't tolerate those toxic comments about dietary choices, discrimination, or those inflammatory opening posts that just exist to start fights. That's basically why the old Foodie Heaven threads were shut down in the first place.

And honestly, what’s wrong with high-end gastronomy?
C-C wrote such a lovely post about how she cooks every single day. Most of her daily meals are just basic sustenance—because hey, she has a demanding job and a family with two kids, so life gets busy! But she mentioned that occasionally she loves to dive into fine dining and would love to swap recipes and tips without everyone jumping down her throat like they did over that question about tempering chocolate.
Seriously, my aunt was tempering chocolate forty years ago back in the day, and now people act like it's some huge scandal. Like, wow, talk about elitism!
I really don't get why people took such a sharp aim at her.
We all have those moments where we want to whip up something special, try out a new flavor, or sample the local cuisine when we're traveling—even if it's just a quick road trip to a neighboring state!
It feels a bit silly that everyone got so offended and started reading between lines that weren't even there, totally twisting what she actually said.

feralpilot6 said:Why are you bringing up the Trash Forum here?
Was I even the first one to mention it?
Honestly, you've got it all mixed up. We're talking about a thread we just happened to stumble upon—which was being quoted on the Trash Forum today—not about those photos. You're clearly out of the loop; those were deleted. And why even bring it up if it has nothing to do with anyone's private info? It wasn't about the pictures anyway; I've already forgotten them, or rather, I've pushed them out of my mind.
Besides, when was the last time I actually brought up the photos? Was it last month? The month before? I don't think so. So why do you keep insisting that I do this "constantly"? Why dig up stories from way back when?

Bwahahaha! Well, if you've truly moved on, why do you bring them up all the time? 😁

But hey, no big deal, even if it does paint a slightly clearer picture of what's going on.
I'm just not quite following what you're aiming for, other than wanting everyone to sort the cartoons based on your specific instructions.
Sorry, but that's just not going to happen!
We actually have some rules we need to follow here.

Nah, but people just won't stop bringing it up! Honestly, the hype around it is absolutely endless.

And besides, the data doesn't change based on my moderator status—you know that!

David Foster80 said:Polly 🤦

What does someone's picture have to do with PERSONAL data when it comes to copying a post? Seriously, 🤦
You've been on this Forum for years, you've got a massive post count, and you're a mod, yet you still can't tell the difference between "personal data" and "a public forum post"?!
And here we go again 🤦
The whole point of the "Trash Forum era" is specifically to c/p posts from the main Forum.
But oh, wait, I forgot. We aren't in America, where rules actually make sense.

p.s. Just so I don't accidentally get banned—this isn't trolling. I'm responding to this because I'm the one who originally put those posts on the Trash Forum.☕

Oh, please, don't do that!

Look, stop with the nonsense. Stop bothering me with all these shady backroom games and shady tactics. I have much more important things to do than waste my energy dealing with your constant complaints, especially while you're busy copy-pasting your "triumphs" over to Reddit and Trash Forum to mock them with your friends.
Just do something productive for once, please.

Aaron Harris2, quit the flattery. I wasn't the one who posted you on the trash board, so I don't get why you insisted on having it deleted unless you're trying to hide something. At least I've always been transparent, unlike your little schemes. And you're still being insulting—I see some habits just never die.

Jose White18, sorry, I didn't mean to drag you into this. Everything I wanted to say was in that deleted section of that invisible thread, plus in the reports from a few days ago and over in the food discussion thread.
And yeah, of course I filed reports. It’s funny how the elites get a free pass and never get banned, even when they clearly deserve it based on how they act, yet I'm the one getting flagged just because I used the word "professional" with a smiley face next to it. I won't drone on about it; everything is right there if you actually bother to read.
It's pretty obvious we're a thorn in someone's side—hopefully not everywhere else... but again, that doesn't involve you.

lily, you actually reported three posts from dlap just because the images were too big.
I sent you a message afterward explaining that when images are oversized, we either ask users for a new link or condense them into a hyperlink so the photo doesn't clutter the post.
That’s the standard rule for everyone.
But you just kept pushing for a ban, even though I explained several times that we don't handle things that way.
Instead, you just insisted on your own way because that's what you wanted.🤷

Between the off-topic chatter in the food section, the spam, and the trolling... there's a lot going on, yet you've only received one warning.
You're absolutely right, we are subjective.
But hey, look at it this way:
If you were anyone else who was getting under our skin, you probably wouldn't be getting such a pass.

I honestly don't get this "elite" talk. Based on what? Just because someone dared to ask about tempering chocolate? Or because someone actually knew their stuff? Since when is being knowledgeable a bad thing?
You completely misrepresented everything regarding the food and nutrition discussions. No matter how many times it was explained to you, you kept pushing your own version of what people meant, which basically just started arguments.

As for this whole thing about the Trash Forum that you all keep bragging about—would you actually be happy if your photo was posted on the site? We could even add your full name and home address along with some funny little comments about your personal collection.
But since you have nothing to hide, I'm sure you wouldn't mind! After all, everything should be totally transparent.
