It’s one of those little ironies of life that I’m allergic to fur 🙂
So, I have some rabbits, and one of them just had her babies. I can't even get close to them because my reaction to their hair is pretty intense 🙂
Strangely enough, I don't seem to have much of an issue with cats 🤷
Look, I realize this isn't exactly a minor life shift, and I know I spent all that time focusing on my specialized degree, but I had a completely different vision for my future. Having a baby at 23 just didn't fit into that picture—and neither did the idea of living out in the middle of nowhere, which was something I was pretty vocal about avoiding.
I suppose I need to figure out how to actually like myself, though that’s proving to be easier said than done.

As for my husband... he was born in '87, so he's basically just a giant child.
And now I'm sitting here wondering if I'm really going to end up raising two kids instead of just one.
I'm just hoping he eventually grows out of this perpetual puberty phase, because honestly, keeping up with him is exhausting.
It’s hard to find much pride in an achievement when nobody else seems to think it counts as one.
Unfortunately, I’ve been wired this way since I was a kid—always needing that external validation from others, whether it was my parents back then or even my husband now.
The real struggle hits when I feel that sense of approval just isn't there from them.
I’ve cut ties with my father; we don't speak at all anymore.
As for my mother, I suppose she would have been more proud if I had finished my degree on schedule, landed a steady career, and then moved on to having kids, but she isn't exactly disappointed about my pregnancy. In fact, she’s actually bought me about half of everything I own.

Then there’s my husband. After five years together, I still get this nagging feeling that he doesn't truly understand me. It’s strange, because I often feel like I know exactly what he’s going to say before he even thinks it.
I have this tendency where everything just seems to pile up on me at once, but this particular stretch is really getting to me; I’ve been feeling like this for days now.
I try to put on a brave face, but it feels incredibly hollow.
Don't get me wrong, there are good days here and there, I'm not saying there aren't.

Aside from being pregnant and having finished two years of my associate degree, I feel like I haven't actually accomplished much in life.
A close friend of mine—we've known each other since third grade—is currently grinding to get into another university program and is prepping for her SATs.
It makes me feel a bit pathetic, honestly, considering I only completed two years of my community college courses part-time.
It isn't even about being conceited or anything like that; I probably wouldn't hang out with her anyway, mostly because her parents are all highly educated—her dad was in engineering and her mom did pharmacy, and her grandfather was a doctor—so for her, pursuing higher education is just the default setting.

I get hit by those waves of sadness every now and then too... and once I start thinking about the baby, that grief just feels even heavier 🤷
So, I truly understand where you're coming from. But deep down, you know this feeling won't last forever—it'll pass this time, too 😘

I think we might actually be the same age
I know it's passed before, but I guess I'm just terrified that certain things won't change even after I have the baby. It makes me worry that it'll be even harder, because I'm sure the little one will feel everything I'm feeling. It seems like it would be even worse when I hear her crying and realize it isn't just hunger or a dirty diaper, but something deeper
It’s not like I’m naturally hypersensitive or anything, though I suppose the pregnancy might be playing a part in all this
I just feel stuck in this unhappy headspace, and there isn't much I can do to snap myself out of it.
Sometimes it feels like the bad days outnumber the good ones; even when I am actually happy, it feels like I'm just putting on an act.

On top of that, I feel like nobody really gets why I’m feeling this way, which honestly just makes me feel more pathetic.
So, I’ll be like this for a few days, then things will seem to settle down slightly, but then something else will come along and throw me completely off balance.

And when I think about Dea, it just makes me want to cry even harder, because I know if she were here, I wouldn't be feeling this way or be in this situation at all.
Then the guilt starts setting in, and that just leads to more misery and more tears.
I feel pretty pathetic, if I’m being honest.
I’m not going to go into the reasons why, nor am I going to explain exactly what happened or why I feel this way. I just want to say that I deeply regret certain things, and honestly, I’m embarrassed by how much those regrets weigh on me.

I don't ask for much, and I really don't expect a lot out of life—truly, I don't. But when I feel like even the absolute bare minimum is being withheld from me, or when I'm treated like I haven't even earned that baseline, and people constantly fixate on my flaws... well, it makes me want to just throw myself off a balcony.
Honestly, this kind of mindless nonsense is starting to get under my skin.
If we’re going by those ridiculous standards, these people should probably just live under a literal glass dome, eating nothing but organic, non-GMO, farm-to-table produce grown in some pristine backyard.

It’s almost as if they think our mothers or grandmothers were somehow superhumanly careful about every single ingredient, as if we all miraculously turned out perfectly healthy despite everything.
My back is absolutely killing me right now; the pain is just relentless, and I can’t seem to find a single comfortable position to sit or lie in. On top of that, my hip is starting to ache too,

I honestly just want this baby out already. Carrying them around is becoming such a struggle these days.
Anthony Watson35 said:Rebecca Vaughn7, hang in there... and don't listen to any of that nonsense—not even from your own mother. I know it sucks, but just try to tune everything out as much as you can. Besides, you can always come here to vent! It actually helps, trust me...
I just happily crossed off another workday; didn't talk to a single soul from my husband's side of the family, so it was a win in my book. Meanwhile, my poor mother-in-law is probably sitting there hoping I'll end up looking like a tank after pregnancy, just like she did. And who knows, I'll probably lose half my teeth too—women in their forties are already losing half their gums... damn, if they actually brushed them once in a while, maybe they wouldn't be falling out... ☕

😂😂
you're out of your mind!!!!

but just remember how that mother-in-law treats you when you eventually become a mother-in-law yourself, so you don't end up acting just like her.

It’s kind of like when my wonderful husband told me I walk like a penguin. 😛
Given how I actually move, I guess he wasn't really being anything but honest. 🤣
I've been dealing with these nagging abdominal muscle pains lately, and honestly, they’re starting to get under my skin.
When I finally lie down for the night, I can feel this soreness in my core—it might just be the extra weight in my midsection putting pressure on everything.
Ronald Rivera5 said:It honestly drives me crazy and makes me kind of sad that I can't have a drink 😢 I mean, okay, so I went out for a bit last night and had one martini, but man, I really wanted another one and I know I can't touch it 😢 ah, life is just great 😁

and then after this, I've got at least another year of breastfeeding before I'm back to nothing 😲

Honestly, that hits close to home for me too, it's such a downer😢
I'd love to just sit down with two or three cocktails, or maybe just some sweet white wine, but my husband won't let me have more than a single glass🙂
And on top of that, you've got the whole breastfeeding thing🙂

I suppose this probably belongs in the thread for people struggling to conceive rather than this one😁
I guess I’ve turned into a bit of a control freak lately, though there are those mornings where everything just falls apart. When I wake up on the wrong side of the bed, I can barely find the motivation to do anything at all—I don't even have the energy to brush my hair, I just end up pulling it back into a quick ponytail and calling it a day.🙈
How many times have I already said I’m done scrubbing the floors? It feels like he gets a pass while his uncle never lifts a finger, so I just end up staring at everyone's muddy footprints everywhere.
And yet, here I am, cleaning it all over again.
I mean, honestly. I’m officially over it. From now on, I might vacuum just so the big crumbs don't drive me crazy, but as for anything else, I truly couldn't care less. ☕
We can be so cruel, can't we? 🤣
We sit here obsessing over our husbands' gray hairs 😂

The thing is, they probably don't give a damn about those new strands, while we seem to spiral into a minor existential crisis every time we spot one in the mirror 🙄
Maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but you know the feeling 😉
Jesse Evans85 said:Well, mine does too! And he's been thin his entire life... so if I end up getting them (haven't yet, thank God), at least I won't be the only one in the house... hi, hi.😁

Oh, right, now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure mine does too. 🤣
I noticed some marks on his back—horizontal lines that look almost like he’s been lashed with a whip. 🤣
The real question that keeps nagging at me is what he was actually up to with other women before I came along. 🤔

I was just thinking about how they’ll probably never get those arrows—not when they're dealing with things like pregnancy and all that.
It’s pretty standard to deal with stretch marks from rapid weight fluctuations—whether you're gaining, losing, or just growing too fast—and that’s an experience most people can relate to. But pregnancy stretch marks? Those feel like they belong to a completely different category altogether. It's almost like they're our own private club.
It’s always so easy for husbands to claim we’re making a mountain out of a molehill when they aren't the ones actually going through it. 😠

I didn't really care much about my health until I hit the 30-week mark, but now that I've started paying attention, it feels like there's no stopping it. 🙂

But I suppose it's too late to turn back now that everything has already arrived.
John Baker5 said:Stupid stretch marks 😠😠
On top of one line right below my belly button, I've got new ones popping up higher up now... and honestly, my stomach is the only part of my body I actually bother moisturizing 😢

Those marks get on my nerves too; right now, I feel like I'm covered in them. 😢
But usually, it's the ones forming a sort of snowflake pattern above my navel that bother me most. 😁
I have them below my stomach as well (though I only really notice those when I'm looking in the mirror 😛).

So, when my little one is literally stretching my skin out, it makes sense that I've ended up with cracks everywhere. 🙄
I guess today just isn't my day.
It seems like the more my husband is in high spirits, the worse I feel. The more he’s in the mood to mess around and joke, the more on edge I get. 🤦
