Michael Barrett11 said:🙂 Same to you.

I bet you're just about ready to start a whole new thread on the parenting forums titled "What drives you crazy now that you're a parent?"

🤣🤣

Personally, my height is what gets to me—I'm just too short. 🙂
I suppose if I were taller, I’d probably have a bit more room in my midsection, and maybe my organs wouldn't feel so squished all the time. 🤣

Anyway, let's try to keep this on topic. 😁

No way! I don't even feel like hanging out on Reddit lately, idk why!!! And it's not like I have to! I'll just stay right here and vent with you guys 😬 whenever I can actually steal a moment from my Eva!
And quit whining about your height—if you ever end up at the doctor, you'll see what happens when you're built like a tiny little nugget 😂 just like a freaking bread box lid! 😂 🤣
👋

I swear, nothing even gets under my skin anymore 🙂

So, how are all my pregnant ladies doing? Any old timers or newbies in the mix today?
Eric Fowler3 said:Ugh, what an absolute idiot my partner turned out to be today. He actually had the nerve to say that women just deal with pregnancy and birth without any issues... as if I’m just being dramatic when I tell him everything hurts and I can't do anything. Like, I'm not crazy, I'm just pregnant... and he thinks it’s weird to be scared of something women have been doing for centuries... whatever...

Honestly, now I'm really starting to wonder if I even need him in my life...

😱

My guy gets crazy sometimes, but hey, maybe not *this* bad🙄 (not exactly comforting, but whatever)

Wait, so how do you even respond to stuff like that?
It sounds exactly like my mother-in-law back in the day, who used to haul firewood up the stairs eight times a day—imagine carrying a massive basket up multiple flights! And then you've got a husband who’s a total lazy bum (my father-in-law, RIP) who just spent his whole life jerking off instead of helping...
God, the stuff we put up with... for what??? Seriously, I find myself asking a thousand times a day if we even need someone like that in our lives...
Here's one for you 🙂
analognomad59 said:Honestly, don't let it get to you. I don't think they're actually being malicious; it's more like they've just gotten so used to things magically working themselves out that they assume the house stays clean without anyone actually lifting a finger... they just take the finished product for granted. 🙂

Don't stress yourself out, and definitely don't push yourself if you're feeling physically wiped. But don't let him complain either—if he starts nitpicking, just point him toward the vacuum and the cleaning supplies and say, "Hey, I love that you noticed the mess needs tidying! I'm just physically unable to bend over or pick things up right now." If he cleans it himself, great. If he doesn't, then don't do it for him. Maybe one day it'll click that you aren't capable of doing it all right now and he'll step up. As long as you keep pushing through using that "I can manage somehow" logic, he's just going to think you're fine and that it isn't even a big deal...😉

Well, at least mine doesn't complain to me, though honestly, there isn't much for them to do anyway. I do what I can when I can. It's all painfully slow, but I get it done. What really gets under my skin is how nobody ever asks, "Hey, do you need a hand with anything?" I'm over here struggling and practically breaking my back, and it's just crickets! 😠
I'm just counting down the days until I have my little one here and we both get a bit stronger so we can finally get out and enjoy life! Like I said before, you guys figure out your own way of handling things. I'll handle the essentials, obviously. Maybe then they'll finally realize what's going on... though I'm not holding my breath! 😁
Anthony Watson35 said:I can’t even say this guy’s "help" actually works. 🤷 Like, sure, he does stuff—but HOW he does it is the problem. First example: vacuuming without touching the bedroom.
Second example: dusting. Great, now what? What am I supposed to do with the rest of the mess?
Third example: I go to clean the bathroom. Fine. But what about the toilet? Did he even look at the toilet?
Fourth: he takes out the trash. Cool. But what about the little bin in the guest bath? Yeah...

And so it goes, and so it goes, and so it goes...
To hell with this "helping" crap—what's the point if I have to go over everything eight more times with a rag, or end up doing half the damn work myself anyway?

Mine is the same way after a month of constant arguing and back-and-forth 🙄
man... it’s all pretty much useless if you actually look at the results.
Honestly, I find myself wondering why I haven't found a guy who actually handles everything—cooking, cleaning, laundry... is that just a total fantasy?! Especially when I'm pregnant...
Anthony Watson35 said:Edward Rodriguez4, I know exactly how you feel... mine claims he did some "massive" cleaning the other day. Honestly, don't even get me started—man, if he’d actually cleaned the whole damn house, we wouldn't be having this talk. Like, okay, great, you vacuumed. What now? You want a Medal of Honor or a trophy for being the MVP of housework?
So, I finish my own marathon cleaning session in the bedroom, bend down to grab something, and what do I see? Under the bed... it wasn't even dust anymore. It was basically little balls of lint forming their own ecosystem...
Wait a second, you said you vacuumed? And there's still stuff under the bed?
Oh. So he didn't even touch the bedroom...

🤦 🙂

I am going to kill him. Seriously, I'll just end him!

Man, I've been telling him for a week straight to vacuum our room upstairs. I’d do it myself, but we have one of those heavy-duty shop vacs that needs water, so I’d have to lug it downstairs to fill it up, then drag the whole thing back up the stairs. Obviously, that's the last thing on my mind right now. And the eye-rolling when he does that "ugh, fine, whatever" routine... Then he has the nerve to ask if he *really* has to haul the vacuum upstairs?! I told him yes. He’d much rather just use a broom because apparently, this thing doesn't have enough suction. I told him, "Look, it's laminate flooring, not some industrial warehouse floor, stop making it a thing." So we settled on a compromise between the broom and a wet mop, and you can just imagine how much of a disaster that turned out to be...
I am losing my mind.
It's all their mothers' fault!
Honestly, if I ever have another kid and it's a boy, he's definitely cleaning up after himself from day one...
I know I’m basically flying solo here... honestly, there have been a few times where I was right on the edge of just packing his bags and telling him to get lost. At least then I’d actually be alone, instead of sitting around waiting and expecting help, only to get absolutely nothing out of it. 😢
And being stuck at home is just killing me, especially now since I can't even move much. Every single bone in my body aches, but I’ve made a vow: once the baby arrives and gets a little older, maybe sometime next spring, the two of us are hitting the road. We could head to Malibu, maybe hit up some spots in San Diego—anywhere, really!
Meanwhile, the people at home are just sitting around waiting for their meals to be served, everything washed and folded and ready to go.

Oh, and by the way, they actually have the nerve to get pissed at me when I tell them to just eat where they've been sitting all day!!! 🙄
You know what really gets under my skin?!
It’s the fact that I have to do EVERYTHING by myself!
My husband finishes his shift at the office and then immediately heads out to pull some side hustle to make extra cash. Honestly, I am so done with feeling like a single parent in a marriage!
And the house? It’s a total disaster zone! Like a bomb went off in here. It feels like there’s an endless mountain of laundry, dishes, and greasy pots to scrub, and I just can’t face it anymore. It takes me five days straight just to get through the basic chores.😠
Then my old man comes home—usually after hanging out at his girlfriend's place—and he won't lift a single finger to help!!
The other day, I actually put in the effort to get the place looking decent, only for both those lazy bums to stomp right into the living room with their dirty shoes on!!!😠😠😠
I am sick and tired of being alone in this and carrying the whole damn load!
Tomorrow, I’m not cooking, I’m not doing laundry, and I’m not doing a damn thing!
You guys can go screw yourselves and fend for yourselves while you're out playing around all day!

...honestly, I feel better already...
Richard Fowler13 said:Taylor Swift just hang in there and keep your eyes on the prize—your baby, your husband, and all that happiness waiting for you on the other side 🙂

As for the whole bladder control situation,
it’s honestly just getting worse by the day; I feel like I’m constantly soaked because no amount of pads seems to do the trick... and honestly, I used to be one of those people who thought you didn't really need them during pregnancy... well, look at me now, leaking everywhere like a broken faucet 😳

🤣
I was literally saying the same thing to my Tika once! It's constant. One minute you're peeing uncontrollably, then it's just random leaks from your bladder, or crazy vaginal discharge 🙄 and then you sneeze and suddenly you're peeing and farting at the exact same time 🤦 AND IT JUST GOES ON AND ON LIKE THAT! 😍
Hannah Lewis2 said:Did you actually give him the date, the address, and the time for the wedding? Because if you did, there is zero reason to call him again. It’s not like you’re out here calling every single guest twice, right? If you do decide to reach out, don't let him throw you off your game. You don't owe him some long-winded explanation about your life. A wedding invite should be a quick two-minute deal. Just like, "Hey, it's me. The wedding is at this time and this place. I'd love to see you there. Let me know if you can make it by this date. Later."

Seriously, preach!! 👍
My guy was doing the exact same thing to me, trying to lecture me about covering the costs for the wedding reception... like, excuse me? What if we don't want to pay for everything at some fancy restaurant! Honestly, I should have just clocked him with my high heel. 😠

Just don't let him get under your skin, no matter how much it sucks right now. It'll all work out fine! 🙂
analognomad59 said:My instinct is always to let out a "yelp" or an "ouch" whenever something hurts, so I’ve been thinking lately—especially after reading all the stories here about how rough doctors can be during exams—why should I even hold back? Why shouldn't I make it crystal clear when it hurts? I know I probably look silly and people likely think I'm just being a sensitive crybaby, but honestly, I don't care... I'd much rather be seen as a crybaby than be treated like a piece of meat and just suffer through it because he's being careless... 🤷👎

Look, I don't whine—but let's just say I was thrashing around on that exam table like a feral cat! 🤣 Since I couldn't even get my chicken to calm down, I'm pretty sure she was bristling from the pain too 😬
I can handle a lot, but if it drags on too long, I start getting "lovely"... I swear, if things go on for too long, they might actually have to tie me down 🙄
I remember one time I accidentally elbowed my dentist right in the ribs because the pain was just too much to take 🤣 so hey, maybe they should just strap me in instead of dealing with me swinging these logs around at them!
Noah Ramirez7 said:Honestly, nurses can be such a trip... like, they act all high and mighty and stuck-up, but then they turn around and start calling everyone "sweetie" or "honey" or "darling" like they're your best friend or something. It’s wild.🤣

Wait, which Blajic is it again, the older one or the younger one? I swear, those two are always getting mixed up in my head because they've got such similar names. My cousin actually went to the older one for her prenatal care, and she was honestly so happy with everything—she’s just one of those doctors who is constantly joking around with her patients and making everyone feel totally at ease, you know?
I was actually planning on heading over to Dr. Miller’s clinic to get my prescription filled because, honestly, I much prefer the female physician's approach—there's just something about the way she handles things that works better for me than the guys. But then life happened and I had to make an emergency run over to the Mayo Clinic instead, and since it was a Tuesday, everything was totally backed up like it always is on those mid-week shifts. I tried going back a second time, but they were running some kind of massive training drill or something and I couldn't get in, and then the next time I showed up, the doctor wasn't even there! Maybe he's out hitting the slopes somewhere or just taking a much-needed break, who knows? It's such a headache when you can't get a straight answer, especially when you're dealing with people like those specialists at the local steakhouse, Dr. Herman, who seem to have their own schedule entirely.
I’m heading back out there on the 18th and honestly, I am low-key freaking out about the whole thing... like, my stomach is doing actual flips just thinking about it.🙄

Have you ever actually been to an ultrasound appointment over at Mayo Clinic? Seriously, if you think that’s what a real scan looks like, you haven't seen anything yet because that's basically just a glorified treadmill session. You walk in, you lie down on the table, and honestly, it feels like it's over before it even starts. Like, they don't even tell you anything or show you the baby—nothing at all! They just scribble down some measurements, toss you a "hope everything's fine" vibe, and then you're just left wandering around later trying to scroll through the results on your phone hoping you didn't miss something huge. It's such a weirdly impersonal way to do things, I swear. 🙄

I actually went for my ultrasound and it was with an older doctor—he was awesome! So I'm heading back to see him in two weeks.
And yeah, this one is the older one. He's fine, but the exam itself... 😲 seriously, get that speculum away from me! I honestly don't get what that piece of junk is even for, since they just shove it in, pull it out, and then start poking around with their fingers... or better yet, their whole forearm! 🤣
Noah Ramirez7 said:Which doctor did you see? I usually go to Dr. Miller and he’s actually been totally fine, at least once when I went to him... but the last two times some other guy was covering for him and let me tell you, I felt exactly like you do... my whole body was aching and stabbing all day long... I practically had to hold my stomach in my hands just to make it to the restroom... 😳

And the bathroom... man, don't even get me started on that... I know you're supposed to aim at the stick thingy, but if you can't hit the hole, you end up pissing all over the floor, the walls, everything... ughhhhh... I told the guy, I said men are messy, but god, there are some seriously gross women out there too... it's terrifying... the bathroom is barely three feet by three feet, and you walk into a place soaked in someone else's pee and you can't even turn around without stepping in it... then later you hear the woman who was in there before you has some xy bacteria or whatever disease, and you're just sitting there wondering if you touched something you shouldn't have and caught it too... 🤮

Miller... and I should've stayed with him until the end of my pregnancy, but I don't know why I didn't. 🤷 I think he was out or something. I mean, this guy is alright, okay, we talk and stuff—but it's like being on a treadmill, nothing happens. And that nurse, the one checking your heart rate... 🤮 she was so cranky and rude, like, just get lost! Her desk looked like a cheap folding table from a garage sale!
So I went to my appointment at Mayo Clinic today and honestly, what a total nightmare. I’m actually looking forward to labor now because I genuinely think giving birth will be less painful than what that "doctor" put me through today! This guy handled me like he was breeding livestock or something... just zero empathy. He had his arm practically up to my elbow while I was hunched over, shoving and turning everything around, and that speculum? It felt like an XL size from some horror movie! I get it, they’re probably overworked and rushing through patients to hit quotas, but seriously, give us a little grace! A little tenderness goes a long way! Total creeps, the lot of them!
But whatever—the baby is healthy and on track, which is all that matters in the end.
Ronald Davis22 said:Personally, I think Eve is just lovely. 😍😍
When we finally announced that our little girl's name would be Selena, my brother-in-law had the nerve to comment that people these days just pick names out of thin air for everything, and then he—acting like such a genius—told us he named his kid after some character from a mob movie... how incredibly "original" of him...👎

Look, as long as it isn't some total hillbilly name, I'm fine with it.
So what's the little guy actually called? Little Junior 2? 🍿 🤣

I told them if it's a boy, he's gonna be named Maximilian and better grow up to be a doctor!! Just imagine: Dr. Maximilian!!! Girls would be tripping over themselves for him! 😍
But nope, even Maximilian didn't get any traction. Honestly, once I saw that positive test, I knew damn well it was a girl, so I wasn't even wasting my breath thinking about boy names anyway...😁
vividtinker17 said:Honestly, what drove me absolutely crazy during my pregnancy was all the constant chatter about how I wouldn’t be able to breastfeed, or how much it would hurt, or how I’d definitely end up with mastitis, or how I’d just give up way too soon... It seriously got under my skin so much that I actually found myself tearing up... like, seriously? I kept wondering, how on earth can something so incredibly natural be made out to be such an impossible struggle... but then I started actually doing my own research on breastfeeding and realized it isn't nearly as nightmareish as everyone makes it sound, because those ladies who were trying to scare the life out of me were basically just totally uninformed, and looking back, it wasn't cool of them to try and wreck my confidence like that. I'm successfully nursing now thanks to the amazing women over on Reddit! I just stuck to all the advice and stayed patient...

Some lady actually had the nerve to tell me I should be scrubbing my nipples really hard with a towel every single day after my shower... I was like, uh, excuse me?! 🙂 Not a chance, I'm not even letting people look at them, let alone rubbing them like that. Good grief!
I'm fully convinced my milk is gonna be flowing like a damn river 🤣 and my little one is always gonna be stuffed... 😬

As for the name, people around me keep rolling their eyes (let's call her Eve) and I have no idea why... 🤷 I guess if it isn't some trendy, mainstream name, it's "not good enough." Screw 'em. ☕
Michael Barrett11 said:It’s honestly pretty irritating that I can't find a complete list of prices on the Adax website. 🙂
I’ll be scrolling through looking at a really nice sectional sofa... nothing, no price listed. 😠
Then I’ll find a baby carrier, one of those kangaroo styles... again, no price to be found. 😠

Plus, their closest showroom is in Chicago, and I’m all the way out here in rural Iowa. 🙂

Ugh, everyone thinks Adax is so overpriced, but honestly... once you actually look at the numbers, there isn't even that much of a difference. For my little munchkin, I just bought everything at Baby Media Shop! And the girls there were seriously sweet... they let me sit down 😍 and even let me use their restroom to go pee 🤣 and they explained everything to me!! 👍
So, I seriously had ANOTHER lecture yesterday about how I should be carrying my belly—high or low, apparently—delivered by my mother-in-law... ughhhhhhh.... enough is freaking ENOUGH!!!! 🙂
Hey girl!!
First things first, I want to wish you guys an absolutely amazing, happiest New Year ever!!!

Honestly, nothing really gets under my skin lately except for my mother-in-law, my husband, the cat, and basically everyone else... oh, and waiting on my paycheck, 🤔
I guess that’s about it!
Michael Barrett11 said:It honestly gets under my skin that we have this extra floor all to ourselves, though it’s basically useless since there isn't a kitchen or a bathroom up there.
The layout is just bizarre; in this massive house, there isn't even a functional indoor kitchen, just some outdoor setup in the backyard. I suppose it’s hard to wrap your head around, but these older folks just grew accustomed to living without a proper kitchen inside the house.
I realize the baby is a precious addition, but part of me is frustrated that I wouldn't have to deal with three retirees living under one roof if I weren't pregnant (well, only one of them is actually difficult, but he manages to irritate everyone around him).

I've also noticed that people don't really react with much enthusiasm when I mention I'm having a girl, or if they do, it's only a tiny handful of people who seem genuinely excited.
But honestly, I couldn't care less; my little 😍
is what matters.

Let's be real here—it's not even like a massive investment. Look, I don't know what your bank account looks like, but I'm pretty sure you aren't going to be any worse off than me 🤣! So why don't you just lean on him to get it done?
