fadedotter47 said:Anyway, you won't believe this, but a few years back I read on the Index forum about some girl who hooked up with her dad's buddy. It's like... gross when you look older than you are. Let's be real, sex is hard to turn down, no matter how much people pretend it isn't.

Look, I'm not some animal.
Some stuff matters way more than my urges.
🙂
granitewolf6 said:The thing is, you clearly haven't bothered to ask how the guys in these groups actually feel about it all.

BMK.

Look—if a grown, independent man falls for some immature kid, he’s clearly not right in the head, mentally or otherwise. I don't care what their "group dynamics" look like.
Even back when I was just a 23-year-old kid myself, I couldn't find any common ground with a 15-year-old.

You bring up BMK like I give a damn about BK—as if I care. 🤣🙄
placidranger said:Look, the point isn't about feelings—it's about consequences. Some girls end up hurt. Others? They know exactly how to pull the strings of older men and they do it intentionally. Maybe they’ll feel regret down the road, but they aren't exactly running to court to sue an ex. It’s just "another one from the past." They know why they did what they did.
And this isn't just my "impression"—this is how they actually act. They tell you straight up. There’s no lingering hatred for those older partners, and they don't walk away feeling exploited.

The legal age of consent is 14—though in reality, that individual line shifts constantly and can be much higher. Anything lower? Not really an option.

Look, I've been around the block enough times to know—everyone ends up feeling played and totally screwed over. 🤷

granitewolf6 said:If women actually stopped to weigh the emotional damage they might cause down the road, I’d probably still be a virgin. Thank God they aren't that logical.

And here's another thing. A Legionnaire, just like anyone else in that spot regardless of gender, pulls away from some girl at a bar for two simple reasons: himself and his own reputation. It’s never about her feelings. Anyone claiming otherwise is just being a hypocrite.

Alright, after this—I'm done. Nothing left to argue about with you... ☕
granitewolf6 said:It’s not that it’s rarer; it’s that this stuff happens to guys by default. Doesn't matter if they're dating someone ten years younger, ten years older, or the same age—whether they're 27 or 67, it plays out the same way.

Man, talk about naive... "Handle them with care," my ass. Teenagers drink, smoke, do drugs, and rebel against the very authorities who are trying to "handle them with care." Honestly, the kids living on the edge usually blow through their "adolescent crisis" way faster than the ones being coddled and walked on eggshells.

Oh, really?
Seriously, I hear stories every other day about someone being used for sex, but rarely the other way around.
But whatever, that's a whole different rabbit hole.
Yeah, sure, because a 15-year-old is totally going to outsmart a 30-year-old... 🙄

Right, because teenagers think they’re the smartest, most mature people on the planet—and just because they feel that way, more grounded adults are supposed to accept their perspective as some universal standard of "maturity."🙄
Amanda Cook86 said:I mean, I guess some people would argue that pedophilia isn't even a thing until you hit 14... but honestly, that just doesn't sit right with me.

I was thinking back to those teenagers who used to hook up with high school seniors. I guess it makes you wonder... are they actually pedophiles? They were only a few years older, maybe, so I'm not really sure where the line is drawn.

Well, maybe they look like girls to you, but officially? Not quite. I mean, if they have hair in certain places and all that, who knows. To me, real girls are the ones still playing with Barbies.

Come on, don't embarrass yourself.
First signs of womanhood show up by 11, sometimes even 9—so we should all be hooking up with them then? 😬
They might not be playing with Barbies anymore, but they’re dreaming of being Hollywood stars, they have zero clue how life works, they fight with their best friends ten times a day, a math test feels like the end of the world, and their whole existence revolves around popularity. They scream and jump around the streets like little kids—so yeah, they're immature, and yeah, they're children.
I’ve got two living examples right here at home whose friends are constantly over, and I see how they act.
Just look at anyone's Facebook profile—you'll see it.
It’s a child wearing a woman’s mask, but it's still a kid.
Manipulating a child's innocence and purity for your own perversions is straight-up criminal.

silentpilot6 said:We all have our own perspectives... I'm looking at this from the viewpoint of a 15-year-old boy who used to have crushes on teachers twice his age 😁, whereas you're looking at it as an older sister.

And why should a girl be labeled a slut just because she's with younger guys? Why such a harsh tone...?
You mention girls with mature bodies and makeup... well, that's just life. For some people, that's enough. Even if they are mentally children but physically nearly adults, what can I say? 🤷 Personally, I could never be with someone that young, even if it were "just casual," but there are people who can. Clearly, some girls fall for older types... it's a cliché, isn't it? A younger girl and an older guy... maybe not 20 years older, but definitely a gap 🤷
To be clear... I am not defending "those" people or "those" relationships, nor do I think they are good, desirable, or normal 🙂 a 15-year-old should really just be dating 16 or 17-year-olds, but on the other hand, I can't accept the claim that absolutely every single one of these relationships is pure exploitation and manipulation.
Some are, and some aren't, but you can find counterexamples... Is it perhaps worse for a 15-year-old to be hooked up with by a different 16, 17, or 18-year-old every weekend (and believe me, that happens... it happened back when I was 15 too, which was a long time ago 😬), or to have one partner, even if he is 20 years older?

I still don't quite know what to say 🤷 regarding this topic, but as I said, 😬 what we are discussing here isn't pedophilia, and we shouldn't confuse the two terms.

Let’s dig a little deeper here... who is actually responsible? Human sexuality is such a complex and vital part of our lives, yet who is truly guiding us through it? At best, it might be parents—though even that is debatable—but more often than not, we're just left to learn from the streets, our friends, or whatever we stumble upon online.
It honestly baffles me that our schools teach almost nothing about this, leaving kids without any real education on the subject. 🤷

And look, I personally know a few people this happened to, and it left a massive mark on their emotional lives and how they see the world.
There's a huge difference between a wet fantasy and reality.

My bad—not a slut, but a patient. Apologies to all the sluts out there.

Yeah, for some people, that's enough, which says a lot about their mental "health"—so don't try to shove that down my throat as "normal" or whatever.

Sorry, but I haven't met a single Lolita who hooks up with older guys because she *wants* to or because she's into them.
There are a few, sure, but they're rare.
Just like there are people attracted to trees, but it's extremely rare.
To be specific, I know four girls, around 15 or 16, who are hooking up with married guys and they aren't enjoying it.
They fell in love, and then these guys threaten them—saying they'll leave them if they don't sleep with them—and MOST of these guys are well into their 20s.
To me, that’s basically rape, but hey, our beautiful American laws are set up a certain way, so maybe I'm just stupid. 👎

There are girls who hook up every other weekend with different guys, but those girls were a little... well, borderline slow.
Then again, it’s not always as ugly as people say.
Every "slut" can probably name ten guys she doesn't even know.
But on the flip side, there are very few virgins among fifteen-year-olds.
99 percent of them have slept with someone because he threatened to dump them if they didn't. 🙄
So, dear readers, keep believing the myth that teenage girls are these total vixens who sleep around voluntarily.
I talk to my two daughters constantly at home—mostly because I have to, because I'm terrified of what some idiot or creep on the street might do to them—so they keep me posted on what's happening out there.
Watching American movies, I used to get the impression that 14 or 15-year-old girls were just hypersexual wrecks looking to hook up... but it's really not like that, now that I see it.

And yeah, the internet is to blame, along with parents and twisted social morals and values...
I'd even throw today's idols into the mix—it's all very "party hard, baby"—because what can a pop star like Taylor Swift, who 90 percent of teens listen to, tell a young girl other than how irresponsible sexual behavior is or how "grown" a woman becomes the more guys she sleeps with?

Sure, I used to crush on Brad Pitt too, but I knew I wasn't ready for sex.
Fantasy isn't reality.
I'm saying this for the hundredth time—plenty of women fantasize about rape, so who would actually want it to happen in real life?!
Girls at that age explore and fantasize about all sorts of things, and then some jerk comes along and convinces them they need to turn those fantasies into action.
Because he's older and more "experienced."
Meanwhile, psychologists say a girl under 16 isn't even physically mature enough for sex, let alone emotionally.
neontinker5 said:I completely agree with everything said here. However, there will always be people defending the relationship mentioned in the original post. It makes me wonder: would they still defend it if the characters were swapped from Z to M?

Personally? Yeah, I would. 🤷
A 15-year-old is a 15-year-old, regardless of gender.
And any 30-year-old getting worked up over a 15-year-old is messed up, man—doesn't matter if they're male or female. 🤷
neontinker5 said:When people claim it’s "not inappropriate" for a 30-year-old professor to target a 14-year-old girl—arguing they’re doing her a "favor" or some other nonsense—why don't they apply that same logic to a male teacher? Is it suddenly acceptable just because the predator is a man?

Don't be ridiculous. It is hard to believe anyone would actually defend these kinds of relationships, regardless of who is involved...

An adult should feel some sense of responsibility toward people who aren't mature yet—people who are vulnerable.
I already said I don't support either side of this.
Because let's call it what it is: pedophilia. An adult sleeping with a 15-year-old is sick. Period. That kid is still a child mentally and emotionally—they just happen to have a body that reacts physically.
Another thing—nobody is "metaphorically" getting screwed anymore. People who should be protecting kids are just exploiting their naivety and lack of experience for their own twisted, selfish needs.
Yeah, I think even someone 20+ looking to hook up with a 14 or 15-year-old is a sicko.
Matthew Castillo5 said:I actually know someone who proves otherwise. Back in the day, a high school teacher fell for one of her students—he was a minor at the time and at least 15 years younger than her. They started dating, eventually tied the knot, and they've been happily married for ages now with two grown kids. So, yeah, there are exceptions to the rule.

True, but I'm genuinely curious about the headspace of a 30-year-old woman who's vibing on the exact same wavelength as some 15-year-old kid.🙄
silentpilot6 said:Well, from what I understand, pedophiles specifically target those who haven't developed secondary sexual characteristics...
A 14, 15, or 16-year-old doesn't fall under that category anymore. There is a different term for it, but I can't recall it right now. 😁

Hmm... it depends on how the woman looks. If she's a total milfača 😬, I’d probably tell him, "Even your dad would approve," 😁 or "That's my boy." 😬
If it were some creep, though, I'd ask him if he's lost his mind.

I'm not sure what smart thing to say here... ultimately, you have to distinguish between situations involving coercion and those that are consensual.
Coercion is a criminal offense... but if it's voluntary, 🤔 I really don't know what to say. 🤷
Dammit... I can't help but imagine being a 15-year-old kid hooking up with that teacher 🙂 who was maybe 28 at the time. If someone found out and she got in trouble, I'd be the first one defending her.

Admittedly, we've drifted off-topic in recent posts... 15 years old isn't pedophilia.

There is absolutely no justification or mercy for pedophilia.
Since we don't have the death penalty or execution here, forty years in prison is the way to go... but you have to agree that when an older woman sleeps with a 15-year-old, it isn't the same thing as some 45-year-old jerk attacking a 9-year-old girl. 😢

Look, please—I've got two sisters at home who are 15, and they've got curves and makeup and everything, but they are still—kids!
For God's sake.
They talk about popularity, get crushes on cute boys, fight with their friends ten times a day over stupid stuff... basically everything that comes with a kid who has the body of an 18-year-old but a brain that's barely older than twelve.
I honestly don't get how anyone 18+ can sleep with them!
If I found out my sister was seeing some sleazy guy in his 30s, 40s, or even someone my own age, I wouldn't say anything to her, but I'd kill him.
Why?
Because a 15-year-old is a child. She doesn't know what she wants, she doesn't know who she is—she's a kid. She's easily manipulated, she's not thinking for herself, and then some horny, sick piece of trash comes along and destroys that childhood by exploiting her immaturity and naivety... It's disgusting!
One girl in her class is 15 and is seeing this 35-year-old guy who has a wife and kids. He's feeding her cheap thrills, she's fallen for him, and he tells her he's gonna leave his wife... I mean, what kind of man does that?
What kind of impact is that going to leave on her emotional life?
Same goes for female pedophiles.
Sure, a 14-year-old might hook up voluntarily with some 30+ slut, but what kind of woman is she?
Would she want that happening to her own son tomorrow?
There, I've covered the non-coercive side of things.
As for forced encounters... I don't even want to go there...
Gross, gross, and triple gross!
I honestly have no clue how ANYONE here could even attempt to defend pedophiles—man or woman... 🤷
I’m pretty sure they’re the only group (besides rapists) I’d actually vote for the death penalty over!

He’s a jerk, sure, but he’s also a total manipulator because he leans on that whole tired trope about being a "lost soul" who just needs to find himself—or maybe he won't, or maybe he'll stay lost forever, blah, blah, blah...

She, on the other hand, is terrifyingly submissive in these desperate attempts—these pathetic hopes—that she can somehow be the one to "awaken" the man who loves her. And let me tell you, I’d bet anything that this version of him only pops up briefly whenever she gets a sudden, irrational urge to humiliate herself, or when she actually starts seriously considering walking away. I’d wager he knows full well that coming back to her isn't easy or simple, for purely existential reasons—it's got all the hallmarks of a situation where she'll struggle to find a decent job or build a stable life back home—which, frankly, is just a godsend for him to keep manipulating her for a little longer.

It’s such a textbook manipulative setup; honestly, it's almost predictable.

Personally, I'm more inclined to believe he's just terrified of facing certain truths. 🤷
I mean, who would stay in a relationship like that intentionally and maliciously, when it's obvious he isn't happy either?
If this were actual manipulation, he wouldn't have told her everything he did.
To me, this looks like a guy who's too scared to look reality in the eye.
Not exactly a rare phenomenon, either.
A ton of people just don't have the guts to say "goodbye" when the time actually comes.
They'd rather lie to themselves...

Look, he’s not necessarily a jerk or some total loser incapable of a real relationship—unless he actually doesn't love her.
Or maybe he just doesn't love her anymore... 🤷
The way I see it? He's definitely not feeling the love. Period.
But he's almost certainly feeling guilty, or like he owes her something...

Honey, sorry if I'm being blunt here—I just don't want you living in a fantasy world.
Focus on yourself.
Get back to your own life.
Put that energy into you.
Throw yourself into your job—even if it's a bit shaky right now—your future, and most importantly, your own emotional independence.
Don't go looking for validation for your fears when you already know the truth deep down.
Just try to make the best out of the reality you're facing.
Don't play the victim; value yourself and do the work.
It's really not the end of the world... 🙂
Pure Rage in Psychology ·
Do you guys seriously pop pills every single time you feel a regular human emotion—like fear, sadness, or anger? 🍿

Look, anger is negative, destructive, intense energy.
But more than anything, it’s just energy.
Don’t choke it out—channel it instead.
Get physical, hit the gym, write, whatever helps push it outward and toward something productive rather than turning it inward on yourself.

For a long time, I carried all this rage toward my "friends," my mom, my dad—people who were never there for me, never sacrificed a thing for me, even though I did plenty for them.
Back then, I’d be screaming, swearing, smashing plates...
Because of my "unstable" behavior, I ended up seeing a therapist, and they put me on Lexapro.
So, I started suppressing everything.
I kept telling myself I just had to calm down.
Then came the depression, the anxiety, the panic attacks.
Eventually, I just hit a wall where I couldn't do it anymore.
And the people around me? They were the exact same ones triggering those emotions in the first place.
Basically, there was no bottom to the pit.
I spent three years stuck in bed, terrified of everything, losing 15 pounds... just like that.
And in those three years, not one person even asked if I needed a glass of water.
If I’d died, nobody in my own house would have even noticed, and I live with six people.
So, I finally just said "screw it."
Why shouldn't I be angry?
Why can't I show my negative emotions?
Who am I doing this for?
Is it for today's collective mindset that says showing any emotion is "crazy"? That we aren't allowed to be pissed off, sad, or bitter?
Or is it for the people I'm forced to look out for, even though they weren't there for me when they were actually healthy and sane?
I ditched the Lexapro. I don't hold anything back anymore. No more bottled-up rage, no panic, no depression, no anxiety—just ME.
I'd rather have ten broken plates than a wrecked psyche and suppressed anger.
I'm not suppressing it with pills, consciously or otherwise, and not for anyone.
Not at all.
When I'm sad, I'm sad. When I'm happy, I'm happy. If I'm frustrated, I'm frustrated.
I'm a human being with feelings. I want to manage them, sure, but I refuse to suppress them.
At the start, I mentioned the people who trigger these emotions in you or me.
That's not their fault—it's yours.
Because YOU allowed them to trigger that reaction in you.
So, look inward, love yourself, and be selfish with people who treat you poorly.
It's not about hate or revenge; it's just that you don't need people in your life who don't love you while you're busy loving them. In those dynamics, you're just the victim.
And you don't need to be a victim.
And NOBODY else is required for you to be happy. You don't have to hunt for happiness in a girlfriend, a mom, a dad, a sister, or whoever—everything you need is already inside you. Don't doubt yourself; you have massive strength within you, just like everyone else, and you don't need anyone else to find your own happiness.
You were born alone and you'll die alone—and I don't mean you have to be isolated, but that you should be independent, especially emotionally.
Wishing you guys the best. Your behavior isn't "abnormal."

Anthony Garcia19 said:So, you think they won't agree?😕

I get where you're coming from. I'm not judging anyone either. I was just sharing my take on why some people acquire and hold onto massive wealth. Insecurity and low self-esteem aren't things to judge. And sure, narcissism isn't exactly charming, but it's still human nature, right? If my posts sounded negative, it's just because I feel bad that material stuff becomes everyone's top priority—it's not great for the individual or for society at large. It wasn't meant as a judgment.

Nah, I actually meant they *will* agree.
Because I don't think any of those types are gonna admit that being obsessed with chasing a buck is totally unhealthy. 🙂
Not even the ones living it.
They aren't even aware of it.

Anthony Garcia19 said:Power is an interesting thing.
I have to admit, I just don't get it. I've never felt that itch myself.
To me, finding joy in controlling others or pulling strings is just a sign of insecurity, low self-esteem, or narcissism. And honestly, that leads right back to what I said earlier about amassing massive wealth—hoarding way more than anyone could ever actually need.

Most "power players" would probably agree with you, though—mostly because nobody wants to admit they're narcissists or that they're just compensating for being insecure.
Look, I'm not out here judging anyone who doesn't act the way I think they should. Everyone has their own baggage.
Maybe I'd change, or maybe you would, or maybe any of us would if we were suddenly pulling in astronomical numbers.
Everyone claims they wouldn't go down that path, but let's be real—nobody actually knows how they'd behave when the money hits the bank. 🙂

Most people who land a big payday just can't seem to quit while they're ahead.
Once they hit a million, they’re already chasing two—hit two, and suddenly they’re plotting how to grab three...
Honestly, I don't think it's about actually needing the cash. It's more about that rush of power—it's addictive.

Michael Moore3 said:Well, let's not be typical people, 😛—I meant that within the context of what we were discussing, rather than as a standalone thought, since most human struggles stem from our tendency to dissect everything into tiny, manageable pieces until we eventually lose sight of the forest for the trees.

So, is it possible or isn't it? 🤣

I can't agree with that at all; that single sentence feels like an excuse to dodge responsibility and a total brake on personal growth.

It's the same issue as before: shifting the blame. Today it's "just one day," tomorrow it becomes "two," and the day after that it's just "well, what am I supposed to do?" Evolution itself serves as proof that this mindset isn't natural, as it shows that only those who are persistent—not necessarily the strongest, the best equipped, or any kind of superhero, just the most persistent—are the ones who actually survive.

One bad moment doesn't define a season, just as one mistake isn't the end of the world. When you stumble (and you will, because that’s just part of being human), you simply brush yourself off and keep moving.
I’m not suggesting anyone needs to be perfect enough to never trip—though I suppose a few hyper-persistent souls might manage that—but rather that we shouldn't view failure as something to be feared or judged, but instead approach the next attempt with a bit of optimism.

Those **bolded** sentences actually contradict each other—falling doesn't automatically mean you're going to sink into apathy.
Maybe you'll get back up, maybe you won't.
Depends on the person...
Maybe the issue is we aren't all defining "falling" the same way.
You haven't really fallen just because something bad happened; you've fallen if, in that exact moment when things went south, you lost your nerve and your drive.
And now you're saying that's normal, which is something I've been saying for a long time.
You say you have to get back up, and I'm with you there, but that time spent sitting at the bottom also counts...
Doesn't matter how long it takes—even if it's just one day—that's plenty of time to make a bad call...

Quick question though—are you a Sagittarius or something? 😬
