Well, you could always just copy and paste it three more times—that should make it even more painful to look at! 😉

Honestly, just look at these Reddit users... you're out here playing pretend for no reason at all now. Go ahead, have at it!

Look, you don't need a PhD to realize when a discussion is heading off the rails. While it’s certainly helpful for a moderator to have a decent handle on the specific subreddit they're overseeing, it’s honestly ridiculous to expect any single mod to be an absolute expert on every single niche topic posted on their board—don't be silly.

That’s true, I suppose, but that’s really beside the point here. Your whole argument was basically that you aren't bound by any kind of agreement until a payment actually hits the table.

I honestly believe the vast majority of our moderators are doing a fantastic job. Think about it—at any given moment, you've got maybe 3,000 to 4,000 people online, ranging from dedicated members to just random guests passing through. If you're under the impression that everyone is going to think and react in the exact same way, then the word "individual" pretty much loses all meaning!
But that doesn't take away from the hard work every single moderator puts in.

Jeremy Diaz9 said:I think you might be mistaken; the moment I actually pay for something, I suppose I'm technically entering into a contractual relationship...

Why on earth do you think you aren't bound by certain obligations right now? A contract doesn't necessarily have to involve cold, hard cash—it can be an exchange of intellectual property or ideas, too! Once you opened that account, you essentially agreed to a specific set of rules.

The moderators aren't getting paid for this :P
But what was hollowtrucker77 actually getting at (at least, that's how I read it)—people would probably be a lot more mindful about their tone and how they phrase things if there were some kind of subscription fee involved. Plus, we wouldn't have to deal with all those unnecessary clone accounts and whatnot...

Why did so many posts get deleted?

Thanks for the tip... honestly, I just hope AIG stays on as a sponsor—if I grab this jersey and they pull out, it just won't feel the same.😁
I don't think the post count actually dropped; I think the settings just changed so it shows 40 posts per page now instead of 20.

😕

What would that even mean for your life, really? I mean—if we’re being honest—how much weight should we actually give to any one thing? It’s such a massive, sprawling question! Sometimes I feel like we spend all our energy trying to decode these big, sweeping concepts, only to realize that life is mostly just... well, living. It's the small stuff! But then again, if you don't have a core philosophy—some sort of North Star to guide you through the chaos—you're basically just drifting, aren't you? Like a boat without a rudder on the Atlantic! So, I guess it depends on whether you're looking for a grand purpose or just a way to get through Tuesday without losing your mind. What do you think? Is there a "meaning," or are we all just making it up as we go along?
gentlesurfer21 said:Sure, but the goal isn't to kick people off the site, it's to draw them in, just like always, right...?
Damn (oops, my bad!) I have zero intention of paying someone to play judge and jury, nor am I interested in sucking up to anyone just to stay in their good graces.
I get that times are tough, but seeing you guys sink this low—charging for space on an online community that’s supposed to be about relaxing and hosting different personalities while following basic house rules... honestly, I never saw that coming...

Look, nobody is out here kicking people off Reddit. We have rules in place, sure, and anyone who actually follows them is more than welcome to hang out with us. But honestly? It’s just kind of hilarious to me when someone sticks around on the platform only to turn around and take such an absurdly ridiculous stance on the very thing we're all talking about. It’s almost comedic!
And honestly—if you want to go off about some random tracks or spend your time trolling? Hey, that’s your call! It's your business, really.

And when I heard they kicked him out, I didn't even feel like showing up for a while.👎

I'm not paying a dime, even if I'd never stepped foot on this trashy site before.👎👎👎

Then what on earth are you even doing here?
Don't let the door hit you on the way out! 😉

Anthony Cook3 said:I definitely have my share of life struggles, and I've made a lot of great friends on here, so that part is true. But like I mentioned a long time ago, I'd really love to step up and become a moderator on this board. Any chance you could put in a good word for me?

That’s going to be a tough ask from me, honestly, mostly because I haven't really spent enough time reading through your posts to know your style. My best advice? Reach out directly to the current mod team. Tell them exactly how you think you can help out and why you're interested in the role...
But man, seeking a distraction through work might actually be the exact opposite of what you need to deal with your current situation! 👍

If you’re facing actual struggles in life—real-world stuff—but choose to spend all your energy scrolling through the web and hanging out with "online buddies," honestly? That says way more about your own character than it does about this forum being a distraction. If anything, the site is a goldmine; there's so much useful info tucked away in those downloadable PDFs, while the chat itself is really just a tiny fraction of what's actually here.

Even though this training jersey is from the 2007/08 season, I honestly think it looks fantastic—I'm actually pretty bummed I don't have it in my collection myself!

Starting an LLC: Where to begin? in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
A buddy of mine is thinking about launching his own business. The thing is, he’s already got a full-time gig lined up—he probably needs a good year or two to get everything organized and really find his footing before diving in headfirst. My question is: can he just go ahead and register the LLC now, and then just... let it sit? Like, can he have the company officially established, but essentially keep it dormant with zero income and zero expenses, all while staying opted out of state sales tax registration? He basically wants a "just in case" entity ready to go if an opportunity pops up, but without having to deal with the headache of paying himself a salary or covering payroll taxes and health insurance premiums until he actually starts making moves.

Casey Turner2 said:Thanks for getting back to me! I’m actually planning to head out this Monday to check on the permit situation—so if all goes well, I’ll try to pick up some budget-friendly gear to get started. I'll probably grab a speargun and a shorty wetsuit at Walmart, but I already have my mask and fins. I don't think I'll need weights since I'm planning to hunt by stalking from above, though I did read somewhere that carrying a float is mandatory. It might be too late for this season, though... the weather is shifting, and who knows how much longer we'll have decent water for diving? If not, then it's next year!

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend a shorty. I was just chatting with a buddy of mine who's been doing this for years, and he's totally against them. Between not being able to stay in the water very long, being stuck hunting only in the summer, and the risk of getting scrapes if you're crawling along the bottom near reefs and stuff... it's just not worth it.
As for the license, if you're a club member, your spearfishing permit is $167 annually—I'm not sure where you heard $50. For land-based pole spears, it's $50 (though I can't say for certain myself).
Cops vs. Spiders in Law ·
Look, just because there isn’t a sign specifically marking a spot as "parking" or explicitly stating "No Parking" doesn't mean you have a free pass to pull over wherever you feel like—it really doesn't! If it isn't a designated space, then it simply isn't a space. And honestly—whether we're talking about the ladies who love football or those who couldn't care less about the game—just because a "No Parking" sign isn't standing right there doesn't automatically mean you're allowed to park. It's basic logic!
There are a million spots out there where you aren't supposed to park, yet you won't find a single sign—like near a crosswalk, or within a certain distance from a wall, or things like that... you know what I mean?
I honestly don't see what the big deal is on your end... Plus, if you ask me, the police aren't even the ones dealing with poorly parked cars; it’s usually the local code enforcement or, in your case, the city's parking authority.
The soccer they’re showing on TV is just terrible! And I don't mean "just a little off"—I mean it’s a genuinely awful selection! Honestly. First off, I’m convinced the NHL viewership is sitting well below 2%—unless it's a major rivalry game, and even then, I have my doubts because the quality of play lately has been such a disaster.
Now, the Champions League? Sure, that’s worth watching, but even their scheduling choices are bizarre. Personally, I’d much rather tune in once or twice a month for one truly great match than be forced to sit through mediocre soccer every single day.
At the end of the day, quality over quantity wins every time...
