Women are villains, men are saints in Psychology ·
silentpilot6 said:Let's be clear... in my eyes, a man who fails to pay child support isn't a man at all; he's just a loser and a jerk... regardless of whether he was married to the mother or it was just a one-night stand.
Child support is the bare minimum you can do... though on the other hand, it is true that women are, by default, assigned the children.
A mother could be unemployed or struggling with addiction, yet she is still the one the child goes to. 🤷

Personally, I’d only agree to pay child support if I didn't want the kid in my life to begin with. Otherwise, let the courts handle it since they hand out custody to women 99% of the time, which is nothing short of blatant discrimination.

Want me to translate that for you? She’s cunning and knows how to play the game—meanwhile, you're just being a naive sucker who got played perfectly. She keeps trying to tell you exactly what's going on, but you're too dense to see through it.

And now you're actually asking for help on her behalf... hoping SHE understands???!!! 😲 😂🤣

Whatever, man. Just hit us up once you get your money back! 🥳 🤣

PS. The whole thing smells fishy to me—honestly, this "foreign country" might just be some small town in Ohio. 😁 (Please, just don't reply telling me that a small town in Ohio isn't abroad! 🙂)

Don't be ridiculous. She's smart enough and resourceful enough to have three kids to provide for, and since she can barely make ends meet, she has to go around begging for cash in their name—embarrassing them along with herself instead of just taking the hit alone. That's just what happens when you're dealing with pure desperation and poverty.

As for him, my advice is simple: if you lend someone money, get it in writing, and if you decide to give something away, do it with the expectation that you'll never see it again.

And this idea of expecting respect or appreciation... well, love isn't a commodity you can trade or buy. You can't force someone to value you, even if you bought them a house or a condo, let alone just lent them some cash.

You aren't having issues with photographing guns... nobody starts manufacturing more firearms just because some person online wants to look at pictures of them. But someone will abuse a child and take photos of it simply because some jerk on the internet wants to see those images...

That is the core of the issue. Images of almost everything else are captured after an event occurs that isn't driven by the demand for such images... but child pornography exists solely and exclusively because people want to consume it.
Guns aren't manufactured just so someone can photograph them and post them online.
People don't die in car accidents just so someone can take a picture of them.
Nazis didn't create the Holocaust just so they could take photos of it...

You still aren't getting it... I'm honestly done trying to explain this. Those who understand, understand. For everyone else, that's not my concern.

You're still leaning on a flawed analogy.

Both photos of children and photos of weapons are uploaded specifically because people want to see them. Neither weapons nor children are being "produced" for the sake of being photographed.

Pedophilia isn't some harmless sexual deviation, and it has absolutely nothing to do with homosexuality. We're talking about a severe disorder often characterized by extreme violence and the most heinous crimes.

The psychological profile closest to a pedophile is that of a serial rapist. They share the same core drivers: sadism, hatred, and a desperate need to exert dominance. In both cases, you're dealing with individuals who are deeply and irreparably emotionally damaged. They are incapable of forming normal, consensual sexual relationships, so they seek out helpless victims to satisfy their impulses.

Sure, maybe, but that’s not always how it plays out. And the kind of sadism you're describing doesn't necessarily have to cross legal lines. There's a whole spectrum of it, ranging from a mild, twisted enjoyment of dominance all the way up to those extreme cases of serial murder. Though, nowadays, we tend to separate the latter from pure sexual pathology, because at that point, it's about much more than just sex.

In any kind of sexual pathology, including pedophilia, there's a subset that essentially boils down to "fantasizing"—those people who have these thoughts pop into their heads but actually possess the willpower to keep them contained. But honestly, when you look at it, pedophilia is fundamentally most similar to rape...

you really deserve an award for being this dense 😛

Watching gun shows doesn't drive weapon manufacturing.
Watching dashcam footage of car wrecks doesn't cause accidents.
Watching footage from concentration camps doesn't increase the number of camps... and so on.

Viewing pedophilic content directly contributes to the creation of such imagery... look, I've laid it all out for you, but you still refuse to understand. It isn't my problem. 🤷

That's a pretty flawed analogy.

An observer looking at photos of firearms is simply driving the demand for those types of photos.
and so on.
silvercobra11 said:Pedophilia is a pathological disorder where the perpetrator finds arousal and satisfaction through the helplessness and suffering of their victims. It depends entirely on circumstances and whether someone collecting "images" decides to turn those fantasies into reality, making them a constant threat to their community and society at large.

If a photo of a child at a beach accidentally ends up on your phone, nobody is going to hunt you down for it. But if someone is hoarding an entire collection, that’s a matter of fundamental caution—we need to investigate how they got them and take appropriate action against the offender.

It’s human nature to be most morally sensitive when it comes to protecting children. It is both a societal and individual duty to remain vigilant and protect ourselves from perpetrators of such acts by using every possible measure available.

Pedophilia falls under the umbrella of sexual pathology, and it's a disorder just like hundreds of others out there; it just has a different trigger. You’ve got everything from people obsessed with animals, corpses, inanimate objects, the same sex, elderly women, pain, suffering, insects, statues, and so on. This particular disorder isn't inherently "larger" or "smaller," nor is it easier or harder to treat just because of whether the behavior is legal or illegal.

That’s the million-dollar question, isn't it? Honestly, it’s not even hurting me, so I don't see why I should have to go out of my way to make excuses for him. At the end of the day, whether he was actually faking it or just being difficult, it’s his own mess to deal with.
When are parents officially "done"? in Psychology & Therapy ·
Hey, you might want to pick up *Toxic Parents* or maybe check out *What Game Are You Playing?* I can't recall the exact authors offhand, but they’ll really help you make sense of the mess you're currently stuck in. Honestly, you've just been cast in a specific role within their dysfunctional dynamic. You’ve essentially become the parent in this relationship while they play the kids; you've inherited the entire burden because they've figured out they can lean on you indefinitely.

I'm not quite sure what the best advice would be, other than focusing your energy on your brothers rather than your parents. Your parents are grown adults, and they should be responsible for themselves—if they haven't learned how to do that by now, they probably aren't going to, and it isn't your job to fix them. On the flip side, your brothers aren't to blame for this, nor should they be forced to endure it. Based on your description, I can't tell exactly how dire things have gotten, but if the situation is truly as bad as it sounds and you see them heading down a dark path by staying there, I think you might need to take some actual steps. Whether that means calling Child Protective Services, taking them in yourself, or something else entirely. If things are somewhat manageable, then just stop handing cash over to your parents; give it strictly to your brothers. Just be careful that they don't end up mimicking your parents' behavior—especially if they're hitting those teenage years and start blowing money on nonsense. Maybe just help out with groceries and essentials, because you'll quickly realize it's a losing game if all that money just ends up being spent on beer and other useless stuff.

I guess I’ll jump in too. I’ve never really been much of a gym rat; honestly, maybe adding a few pounds wouldn't hurt, but my metabolism just isn't built for it. Besides, I don't think it's particularly healthy to try and force your body into a massive frame that goes against your genetics. People who do that usually end up burning out pretty fast anyway! 😁
