Mark Howard17 said:I don't mind that you or Valderrama, for instance, struggle to fit into one specific ethnic box, but I always find it pretty silly when people call themselves mixed-race or multiracial in that way...🤣

A mixed-race person is someone who is actually a blend of different races—like Black and White, or Black and Asian. It’s pretty obvious that Mexicans, Americans, and Canadians are all Caucasian. So, if there's someone from a marriage between those groups, they aren't "mixed-race" because it isn't a mix of different races... That's really all there is to it.

So what do you call people who are a mix of different ethnicities then?
I'm genuinely curious... ☕

I suspect you figured out your own identity a long time ago. On this forum, you clearly align yourself with one specific group while addressing the other as "you."
Given that, regardless of your parents' heritage, you've made your choice. Why does it seem to bother you so much?

He never actually decided who he is or what he is...
It's people like you who keep trying to put everyone in a box. Just because he addresses Americans as "you guys" doesn't mean you get to pigeonhole his entire ethnicity. Think about it—if he went on some radical foreign forum, he might address those people as "you guys" too. You’d probably label him as one thing, while they’d label him as the complete opposite, even though he isn't either.👎

I wanted to check in with you all—do you experience that kind of nationalistic tension or "he said, she said" tribalism here? Personally, I just love people regardless of their background; hate never solves anything. What’s the vibe like for you guys?

You've been drinking again... 😂 😂 🙏

Matthew Roberts9 said:Your entire nation is so "precious" that you use it as the ultimate insult for everyone else. To you, Americans are just Mexicans who happen to be Catholic. Canadians are just Mexicans who are Muslim, and Chinese are just Mexicans with a defect in their eyes. Honestly, I can't deal with a nation like this.

Even Norwegians are Germanic, but they aren't Germans. In fact, most Germans actually evolved from Norwegians. Historically, being a Mexican just meant being a Slav—nothing more, nothing less. The fact that Mexicans held onto that label after mixing in with Vlachs, Illyrians, and Turks is really their own problem to deal with... For that same reason, I’m against calling all Muslims in the North America Canadians. Canadians should be considered a Canadian people. But I guess Aljaed just needed some way to tie himself back to Canada...

My family doesn't have anything to do with that specific dialect group. All the elders in my family spoke with an Ikavian accent...

That sentence of yours👎... just tell me, what would that make Americans, Mexicans, or Others from Canada? They are still Canadians, just like I am Herzegovinian, regardless of whatever religion or nationality I claim!😁
