I heard rumors that RC2 is already out there, does anyone actually know where I can grab it? If you do, please just shoot me a private message...

It hasn't been released yet. 👍

I've dealt with that too.

Honestly, just step out of the Stone Age and install VLC Media Player😉

It’s official now... 7057 is definitely RC1

Here is what a reliable source is reporting...

"The EULA and the specific files found within 7057 confirm that we're looking at RC1"
Windows 7 in Software ·
Listen, everyone, do yourselves a favor and go digging a little bit... I’ve actually got some pretty decent news for you... RC1 just leaked 🙂

Or maybe I'm mistaken... it says 7057. There's a lot of chatter claiming this is definitely RC1, but I could really use someone to weigh in and confirm if that's actually the case 🤔

I'm feeling a bit turned around by all this now

cosmicpilot9 said:Look, they’re all bootable... just because some people lack the basic skills to burn an image correctly doesn't mean the file itself isn't functional.
You're right about that, though I fail to see why anyone would even bother making non-bootable versions... it seems like a complete waste of time...🤷

Fine then, I'll send you the image via FedEx along with a pre-burned disc, so feel free to try booting it if you're such a genius...☕

You were still playing in a sandbox while I was busy installing operating systems...

cosmicpilot9 said:If you just grab the right codecs, everything should run smoothly enough......
Personally, I've had issues getting BS Player to cooperate, but there are plenty of superior alternatives out there, and even when Daemon tool fails me—refusing to move past the installation phase after a reboot and just looping back to the start—I've managed to find decent workarounds so that everything functions without much fuss....😉

The CCCP codec pack paired with GOM Player... honestly, you won't find a better combo than that.👍

Jeffrey Harris92 said:Even the 7000 series, or maybe the 69xxx, I can't recall exactly, they should all be bootable...

Just grab the latest K-Lite Codec Pack
and KMPlayer

That’s just not the case. The version I downloaded was the official one straight from Microsoft’s site, and it isn't bootable. Period.

I'm not claiming a bootable version doesn't exist out there somewhere, but I am certain the one I pulled down won't work...

rustydriver23 As I was saying...
I honestly can't quite wrap my head around what makes Windows 7 stand out from everything else... It’s clearly superior to Windows Vista, especially since even with Service Pack 2, that OS was a total mess... Almost there... Just like Windows 7... I have to say, personally, I find the aesthetic much more appealing... especially that toolbelt...

Look, you even admitted yourself that the week is better... 😁

It’s not just 7000, it’s 7022 and still going...

Just finished the installation today. 🤷
Kyle Sanchez4 said:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATI_FireGL

claims it's possible... though I suppose an HD 3850 could pull it off too...

but just try asking around on some US tech forum for the specific drivers or patches needed to actually make it work...

You have a point there, the 3870 should theoretically slot right into a V7700; that's what the discussions over at PCMag are suggesting anyway. Generally speaking, if the hardware is compatible, there ought to be a way to handle the drivers... I was thinking I might just grab the V7700 driver package and attempt to force the installation onto my own card...🤷

Maybe this might actually be useful...

So, you're telling me this card can actually be modded into a FirePRO??

Hold on, so I just install the FirePRO V5700 drivers and that's the whole deal...😲
Question: is it actually possible to mod this into a FireGL?

http://217.14.221.177/StartEU.ashx?_...3IXIhiXYY6pkXk
Look, I’ve been having a nightmare with my Radeon HD 2600 XT 512, so I’m thinking about trading it in for something better up to $233. I’m willing to throw in an extra $100, maybe up to $67 at most, just to make the swap happen.

Since I managed to flash my current 2600 XT into a FireGL, I’d love some recommendations for a card that can undergo the same kind of modding for CAD software. High definition performance is a must, and I don't want to blow more than $300 on it. Ideally, I'd stay under $700, maybe stretching to $800, though I could push to $900 😁 if I really had to, but I might be overcomplicating things... It would be great if you could suggest 3 😬

One crucial thing, though—please pick the cards from the selection available on this specific site.

I’m planning to head out and grab something tomorrow, so I’m in a bit of a rush here. Thanks.

It’s likely the 7000 series... and I’m dealing with this same absolute garbage on that version too...

Richard Lee80 said:Alright, I managed to get that sorted out...

But now I've run into a new headache, specifically with my audio not working at all.

I've been hunting for a fix, but it seems like none of these drivers will actually take...

The issue involves the VIA AC 97 drivers on my ASUS P4V800D-X motherboard.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Just grab the drivers meant for Vista and they should work fine; if not, even the WDM drivers from Windows XP will do the trick.

Richard Lee80 said:Can someone shoot me a DM or just drop a link here so I can download Windows 7?

thanks

Just grab it directly from the official Microsoft website...

Amy Parker5 said:Has anyone else run into this issue right after booting up their computer? Does anyone actually have a fix for it? It seems to pop up on my screen almost every single time I start up...

I’ve dealt with this far too often myself... I haven't been able to pin down the exact cause, but I'm telling you, it’s almost certainly some kind of Bug in Windows 7...

It's likely just some specific software running in the background that I happened to have installed back then, just like you do now, which is why it keeps happening...

Gerald Taylor15 said:Has the full version of Windows 7 actually been released yet? I know plenty of people have been downloading the beta builds, but I'm wondering if the final version is out, or if there's an official release date on the horizon...
If it is out, has anyone seen a complete overview or a feature breakdown in a tech magazine or maybe a site like PCMag or CNET detailing what the full version looks like and how much it actually improves upon Vista?

The full release isn't out just yet. We're all waiting on RC1 now... which should be arriving quite soon...🙂

Kevin Williams56 said:Hey guys... I'm looking to grab this beta version and throw it on my new high-end rig (😁) just to see if it actually holds up...

I have a quick question for the group... which version should I be downloading, the 32-bit or the 64-bit... and how am I supposed to figure out if my hardware can even handle a 64-bit installation?

I'd personally suggest sticking with x86 👍
