GRACE
You tell me you're free
and I want to believe it
the street in the glow
your gaze drives me wild
come and take me with you
do everything you know how to do
come and take me with you
grace.
I still love you
do you even know that?
I'm searching for the rhythm in our step
I'm slowing down your pace
I listen as you question me
and I respond with a smile
come and take me with you
do everything you know how to do
come and take me with you
grace.

And it’s just bad that Johnny left—HE left, everyone left... 😳
(PS. Do you knooooow that I loooooove you? I didn't knooooow for so long...) 😁

GOD, I HATE YOU! 🙂
There, now you can ask me about romance 😛
(p.s. I don't know 🙂 )

Your hands out of sync
between reality and a dream
I watch the city passing by
some people left behind us
come on, take me with you
do everything you know how to do
come on, take me with you
grace, mmmmmmmmm, gracious grace, grazie.
😁 😁 well, I've reached my limit!!!!🙂

Jesusssssssssssssss 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
honestly, I can't even bring myself to read that...

boldeagle3, please—not here at the Forum, my dear little politician and noblewoman!
though, I will admit, you certainly have potential... I might just have to recommend you to budak—no, wait, not militi, let's go with Literature II instead!🙂

I didn't even bring up politics 🙂
And any "potential" you think you see is strictly the fault of this Forum and absolutely nothing else.
Literature II...😕
That's just too much, honestly. 😁

Ontopic:
AZRA - Gracija🙂

Kevin Wood22 said:Off-topic: So, what are you studying (again)?

There is no "again."
For the moment, nothing at all—though the Faculty of Political Science is still, quite persistently, waving at me from a distance...

On-topic:
Here is a little something to pass the time—Beyoncé: Me, myself and I (I actually made an effort to listen to the lyrics 🙄 )

Kevin Wood22 said:Well, that Thursday connection is a direct nod to "You Don't Know My Name."🙄
If I were actually a cruel person—which I am certainly not, especially toward you, my gentle boldeagle3... thinking of Curitiba, Paraná, Fortaleza...—I might have pointed out the soft parts of my anatomy to you (wondering if there's anything firm to be found, I ask myself...)
🙄
But anyway, back to studying... American linguistics... blah blah blah...🙂

Personally, I need to pay attention to both the soft stuff and the hard stuff.
And honestly, just about everything else. Neither the book nor I have laid eyes on each other for about five years now...

On topic:
EKV - Budi sam na ulici
(God, I used to sob my eyes out to that song—damn it, it was intense 😠 😁 )

you don't even know my name, baby
It feels like ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh,
ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
But you don’t know my name
Round and round we go, will you ever really know
]

hell of a lyric, isn't it???🙂 😁
(we could always grab a drink at the junction this Thursday, lalala)

PS. are you some kind of Schoolhouse major—history, literature, blah blah??
😲 😲 🙂 [/B]

The lyrics aren't even the point. Not everyone gets high on poetry and song meanings like you do... personally, I'm intoxicated by the melody in about 95% of songs.
I usually don't even notice the words until much later.
Meet at the junction on Thursday 😕
Schoolhouse major??? No, I'm certainly not a Schoolhouse type 🙄

I’ve been thoroughly outmaneuvered... what kind of rhetoric was that? Such a delicate, lucid little hint at failing to recognize the truly essential—the actual philosophical substance (read: ignoring the elephant in the room, or perhaps just the snake in the grass)?

And honestly, if I were actually sane, I’d probably be losing my mind by now!
👋

Now, just tell me how I'm supposed to go about mastering American history and everything else? 🙄
My supposed "lucidity" seems to be falling apart entirely under that pressure.

On topic:
Alicia Keys - You don't know my name
(mainly because that song came out during a time when it was practically designed to make you break down in tears)

Kevin Wood22 said:You total failed romantic!
I am disappointed—deeply, deeply disappointed—that someone with your handle and your posting history
ISN'T actually a romantic??? Unless, of course, this is some sort of security code, or perhaps just a defensive mechanism against being teased, etc... in any case, 👎 the admission alone is quite devastating 😲

If all you care about is the local Carnival, you could put on any old mask at a small-town parade in Ohio and still feel free to show your true, emotional face🙂

If I hadn't already died—which, let's be honest, is my current state—well, then I might actually die now😠

Everything here is just a security code 🙂
You still can't see the elephant in the room, can you? 😲
To die, so young???
😕
So, Kevin Wood22... 🙄

Kevin Wood22 said:Man, it’s not the neck—it’s the soul!
Is it naive to think a song could actually make you weep?
My mom used to listen to Kiće Slabinac too (those three sweet words—I love you)🙂

And you aren't exactly the romantic type, boldeagle3... you're more like a sunny beach tucked behind the slums of Rio.😲 😲 😲 So how am I supposed to grow old with you—somewhere by the January River?
👎 goodbye hopes & illusions

You FATALISTICALLY think I'm actually shedding tears over her...😲
Oh, my boy...😁
(God, I’d be diving into my feelings if I were actually in love, but right now she just hits me like a song that's exactly what it is 🙄 )

Damn that Kićo 😠
What kind of fucking romance is this, man? Carnival is practically here!😁

well, my grandmother used to absolutely adore it—(honestly, I hadn't realized for the longest time... now I really want to admit it to you, boldeagle3, you total romantic)😁

I never actually said I loved the song, honey. 😎
Romance is a concept that remains entirely foreign to me.

Jet is just getting started—you can't exactly label them as legends yet, but calling them some one-hit-wonder losers is a stretch too...
If they aren't your thing, well, that's just your preference... 😎

I suppose the same logic applies to darkness, doesn't it?
For now, they're exactly what they appear to be...
banderas said:bringing along the legends Jet and darkness, who are both playing at ZOA 😢

Legends?!? more like one-hit-wonder losers...

Nancy Chase9 said:No, 😢not really...
because I didn't actually catch her—nor did I see her on stage, nor could I make out that stupid screen
And the reason I missed it was because I was stuck in a literal sea of people right in the center
standing right next to the speakers... which were rattling like hell, frankly, while I waited for my idiot friend to come back
But he decided to park himself somewhere off to the side—and since the guy is two meters tall, he can see everything from basically any vantage point—so naturally, he didn't show up until the very end
Meanwhile, some jerk was suffocating me, so it wasn't even until halfway through a song that I realized it was Trigger hippie (for example), at which point I told him—somewhat politely—to shut up because this was actually a good track
He didn't shut up, though
So, yeah...

No, I don't recall her waving at the train

Offtopic:

I was actually pretty close to the stage. I managed to snap some shots of Bareta while they were performing during the daylight, so the photos turned out quite well.
As for the Morcheeba photos... I'd rather not even go there. 🙄
Regarding the concert itself, there were a ridiculous amount of idiots surrounding me (Nicole Baker reminded me of them, actually)... ranging from drunk fools climbing over one another like they were at some gay pride parade to someone who just wouldn't stop farting 🙂
Honestly, that Lollapalooza was a total godsend.

Nancy Chase9 said:Honestly, they aren't really built for some massive outdoor stadium next to a freight line—you know, those poorly organized festivals where half the crowd just gives up and dies, leaving you hearing more gravel under your boots than the actual vocalist.

hehe, do you remember when the trains would roar past and blow their horns, yet she stayed totally upbeat while the crowds just went wild...😂
Morcheeba in Music ·
I’ve always had a massive soft spot for Morcheeba—their sound is nothing short of phenomenal.

👍 👍

Personally, I find myself leaning much more toward their early era... back when they were deep into that trip-hop vibe and those other hazy, atmospheric tracks. 😁

silentpilot6 said:I didn't see a single one of those 😁 , or 😬 or 🙂 emojis—the ones people usually toss in when they're just being plain stupid...😉

Maybe you just didn't get it and now you're making excuses 😬

There are plenty of other emojis out there, like this one 🤣

If you only want the toothy ones, that's your business. 😛

silentpilot6 said:How can you not get it? What exactly is there to misunderstand here?
For me, that was the ultimate high—mostly because it was something entirely fresh, I was in my absolute prime, and I had the "crew" behind me.
It’s the exact same thing as some guy being eighteen back when the year was '81.
Do you get it now?

That era was beautiful to me—unpredictable, perfect, and none of this "dark new wave" nonsense.😁
It'll be the same for some kid from today's generation in, I don't know, ten years—thinking everything about Schwarzenegger and Thompson was beautiful, unpredictable, and heaven forbid, some kind of dark Techno.

Ugh, you still don't get it... I can't help you. You might need professional assistance. 😬

Beautiful... unpredictable... 😁
Are you seriously telling me that after roughly 5,500 posts, you still don't grasp emoticons or the word "kidding"?
I'm joking, man. 😲
It's obvious it's sweltering outside. silentpilot6, go take a hike! 🙂

silentpilot6 said:I can’t say I’m particularly fond of the current state of things—honestly, it leaves a lot to be desired—but I suppose the real question is why this particular direction seems to resonate so much more with the younger crowd... specifically those high schoolers and the twenty-somethings drifting through their early adulthood... 😁 If I were to hit those college students with the Thompson-Law...👎 So, they’re probably enjoying their fancy new Razors now—but mark my words, give it a little while and you'll hear them whining all over again... "Where did that golden era go? Back when we used to sing along to Wind from the mountains..."
😬

For me, the absolute peak—the most intense era—was definitely the rise of the Techno movement here in America. We’re talking roughly from 1993 to 1995... back when things were just starting to explode. I was a Happy Child during those years... 😁 There isn't a single soul on this planet who could sit me down and convince me that there was ever—before or since—a better era for jazz...
Kuiš...

Don't you dare bring up Thompson in a thread about Happy Child... unless you're looking for trouble. 🙂 Such an effortless way to mutilate the "new wave"... 🤣
What a dead wind... 🙂 Just kidding...

A Techno movement?? How wonderful... 🙄 I don't get it... 👋

Robbie Williams said:Yeah, the way people phrase it is usually along the lines of "the good old days" or "once upon a golden era"—and from that point on, everything just seems to go downhill...

You really have to listen closely to who is actually claiming there was a "better era." Some people are just—let’s call them what they are—nostalgic, simply because those were their own prime years... or perhaps they feel like they missed out on something monumental. Then you have others who might actually have a point regarding the explosion of pop culture that seemingly peaked for just a few short years before bleeding out into everything else... Anyway, I won't start lecturing here, it's not the place... just go watch the movie and enjoy it.

Look, I don't really care about "who is talking about a better era," I'm speaking strictly from my own perspective.
I was a few years younger—lost in time 😁—but even then, I was never immune to that kind of "hype," starting all the way back in high school.
Even though the crowd riding that wave was a bit older than me.
You make a fair point, though; no need to get all preachy when it isn't your place... just enjoy yourself and let everyone else enjoy themselves too. 👋
