Well, I wasn't talking about "girls"... I was talking about myself. 😛

It warms my heart just thinking about it, but I don't think Tarantino is some transcendent genius just because he dedicated one of his movies to them. Maybe if Jarmusch hadn't filmed the put samurai... After that movie, I highly doubt anyone could actually fascinate me with the whole samurai theme again.
But dustyscout53, not everyone was born in 1975. As someone who was (unfortunately) born a few years later, I don't quite "get" kung-fu movies in that way where they "warm your heart" while watching them... Honestly, Tarantino is the only one who managed to "warm my heart" when it comes to kung-fu and stuff like that. It’s not that I didn't watch those movies as a kid, but they never really did anything for my soul.
The absolute worst-case scenario would be having nobody to talk to...😉 FACTS. So, are you actually living life, or just dreaming through it? UNFORTUNATELY, I’M JUST DREAMING. What do you do when you aren't doing what you normally do? SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY. If you could be anywhere else right now, where would it be? AT IPANEMI How are you feeling in this moment? TERRIBLE. SAD. ANXIOUS. HELP! FREE, BUT IN CHAINS. MISERABLE. WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE THIS WAY? Are you pursuing your passions, or are you just drifting along while that constant loop plays in your head—you know the one... "I'll do it tomorrow," "tomorrow, tomorrow..."? I AM NOT DOING WHAT I WANT, AND FOR NOW, I'M JUST drifting. Those words—"tomorrow"—they basically define my entire existence. But changes are coming, and they're coming very soon... because this whole setup just doesn't make sense anymore. Do you even have a clue what you want out of life? NO, UNFORTUNATELY, NOT YET.
I’m planning to watch this on Christmas—just to add a little flair to the day 😁 The movie is fantastic, and here’s why: 1. It’s just a great movie, plain and simple... 2. The soundtrack is absolutely INCREDIBLE 3. There are gorgeous women who actually hold their own in a fight better than any of the guys 4. The swordplay is top-tier 5. Uma Thurman... enough said
A film like this really sticks with you—honestly, I’ve been thinking about taking up Kendo 🤔
Of course, there are certain things that didn't quite land for me—like how the blood splatters everywhere regardless of which body part actually gets sliced...

I’ve told my entire inner circle—my boyfriend, my friends, even my elderly relatives—that if anything happens to me, they should absolutely take whatever they need from my organs... but I'm not sure if verbal wishes are enough, or if I actually need to be officially registered on a card or something... Personally, I couldn't care less what happens to my physical remains once I'm gone... but if I am going to kick the bucket, I might as well make it useful for someone else... though, truthfully, I'd prefer to help out through other means if there were any way to do so.
Send me a private message about this... I actually tried to reach out to you, but naturally, your inbox is completely slammed.😁
I just scrolled through this thread and I honestly can't believe ZZ Top hasn't been mentioned until now. They are absolutely legendary in my book... Favorite:
Thanks a million. I’m actually going to print this out and pin it to my wall—both at the office and at home—just in case anyone tries to feed me any nonsense...
Now I finally know who to turn to for actual health advice when the misinformation starts flying 😉 😉
So, when exactly are these shows happening? Who’s playing on Dec 6, and who’s up on Dec 10? Or am I misreading things—are they both scheduled for the same night? Or are we talking about entirely different concerts altogether?
Since we’ve apparently become so prestigious and wealthy compared to other EU countries, I suppose we’re required to have high-end clubs like this now.
It’s bad enough that we have to shell out massive amounts of money just to catch a glimpse of world-class bands—not that most people can actually afford to see them—while the rest of us are stuck listening to low-quality MP3s at home. And now, local acts are charging prices as if we were living in the heart of the EU with their inflated salaries...
In my opinion, our local talent needs to get their act together and meet us at our level.
Personally, I can't justify the cost, so I just don't go.
Eminem doesn't deserve those kinds of fees, but from what I can gather, it isn't even his fault—is it? It’s all just POLITICS, as Banderas would say. Since when did politics start bleeding into the music industry? Remember the days when you could listen to incredible music for the price of a couple of beers?
Greetings to Banderas. I had no idea you were hanging out on the Forum, and honestly, I can't help it if I rarely check the music threads. I guess I'll be popping in more often from now on... 🙄
Since you’re already familiar with those KUM video rental spots, could you point me toward their locations? I know they have quite a few branches scattered around, but I can't seem to wrap my head around where they actually are... I’m usually hanging around downtown, so ideally somewhere in that general vicinity. Is that KUM location right by the Damia, or am I thinking of the Spider spot? Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue.
So, I went ahead and typed out a list of about twenty movies along with my takes, but apparently, the "post didn't take"—everything just vanished into thin air.
What now? I suppose I’ll just write them all over again if the original thread starter buys me some Milka...
Just kidding. In short, I'm going to attempt to re-list the films—and if anyone actually wants to discuss one of them, feel free to ask:
Day of the Beast Me, myself, and Irena Sleepy Hollow White Sleepy Hollow White Powder Stigmat Celio Celio Dice Artificial Intelligence The Salton Sea from Dice Artificial Intelligence The Salton Sea From Hell ... naturally, I can't recall the rest of them. 😠 😠 😠 😠
Everything I picked up turned out fine, except for one tape that’s giving me some trouble...
When I actually bothered to ask why they were even selling them, the story was that they just end up with too much surplus—sometimes getting ten copies of the same movie when nobody's really renting it out, or something along those lines...
So, that's their reasoning for letting them go.
It feels incredibly awkward to just wander from one video rental shop to another, cornering owners to ask questions...
Honestly, they should just put them out on display and be done with it.
Besides, I wouldn't even know where to start looking...
I was wondering if anyone knows of any other video rental spots like this one. There’s this little rental shop over by Times Square that rents out VHS tapes and DVDs, but since they end up with extra stock, they actually sell off the tapes—or DVDs—that have already been cycled through the rental inventory. For instance, you can snag a VHS for anywhere from 30 to $15 bucks (depending on what it is), while the DVDs go for about 80 cents. Naturally, I picked up a few for myself—there's just something great about having the physical copy at home. And honestly, I don't mind the scratches or wear and tear; I actually kind of like that vintage feel. The thing is, this shop only has about 50 titles in stock, and I am definitely looking to expand my collection!
Does anyone know of a video store with a similar setup? I’d love to track one down and absolutely clean them out. 😉
It honestly drives me up the wall every single time I encounter someone who just hangs up mid-conversation without even a basic goodbye. It’s just... maddening. Truly awful—complete morons. It throws me so far off my game that, frankly, I could handle just about anything else without flinching.
The movie is great, though I wouldn't call it anything beyond that. I’ll probably be just another person in the crowd claiming Daniel Day-Lewis is the absolute standout—the brightest light in the whole production. Honestly, you can't take your eyes off his performance. As for DiCaprio, he's just underwhelming. I actually mentioned in that Catch Me If You Can thread that he's solid when the plot revolves entirely around him, but Day-Lewis is the true crown jewel here. The film feels a bit overstretched, though...
Not bad, certainly not bad... though Tom Hanks is just plain boring here. Leonardo DiCaprio manages to surprise me occasionally, but I’ve noticed that only seems to happen when the plot revolves entirely around him. In Gangs of New York, he was pretty much useless—Daniel Day-Lewis is the one actually carrying that entire film on his back. Anyway, the whole thing flew by for me, and I've always had a soft spot for those fast-paced, entertaining movies that don't overstay their welcome.
