When moderation turns into harassment in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I honestly can't figure out why someone would drop a Russian link on an American thread about Armenia...

Why Vladimir Putin thanked Ilham Aliyev. Moscow-Baku News July 20th

As far as I can tell, nobody has even blinked at it since July 29th.
But hey, my own link—written in English—was deleted in record time...

Talk about hypocrisy...
When moderation turns into harassment in Feedback & Suggestions ·
First off, we're talking about terrorism in Iraq.
ISIS operated in both Syria and Iraq, with their caliphate stretching across both nations.
Unlike those comments linking to some video game or criticizing "American" military action against ISIS, my link covers actual historical events.

Secondly, regarding that VOA link: is that just a Mexican translation?
As for the New York Times: is that H. Diab praising Suleimani?

Honestly, everything has been crystal clear since day one of your moderating the world slowly...

Whatever, I'm done here...

Posts are being wiped and people are getting banned for trolling.
But apparently, that rule only applies to one side of the aisle.

Where exactly is the trolling here?
The topic was Iraq and terrorism.
I posted a comment about ISIS this morning with a link related to terrorism.
Gone in a heartbeat, but @the supermod sees everything.

Yet, a link to a video game is clearly not considered trolling on the subject. Not at all. Especially since it comes from a moderator with similar views.

Also...
My own comment on the Iraq thread got deleted—the one where I asked how we can call this "fact-based" dosing.
I don't consider links to outlets like Fox News or CNN to be actual facts, even if they're cited as the mainstream media. So, they just scrubbed my comment along with their own links too.

If this is the new editorial policy for the world, just say so openly for everyone to hear: praise Putin, spit on the US and Europe, and you'll be just fine.

Incredible.

So you get put on ignore, then you open a new thread? 🤦

Even sillier... bringing up partial payments with a handle like that.
What's the connection between partial payments and being ignored?

Man, what this forum puts up with...

Wait, is this that one thread where the guy just posts snippets of French text and machine translations?
Is that actually considered a "thread"? 🤣

@Anthony Nguyen81

Did you even wait the required 24 hours after posting?
Or does that rule just not apply to you? 🤔

This is starting to get out of hand... honestly, it's getting ridiculous.

P.S.
I just did the math: it’s been 29 hours since that controversial comment appeared before this thread was even opened.
So, can the rest of us jump straight to the Politics of History or Politics of Lies after 29 hours too?

Come on, @Anthony Nguyen81
Stop being such a chicken, grow some backbone, and get it together!

@Wikipedia

If you really meant to write about Smith's father like that, you should probably just shoot @bluecyclist64 a DM to lock this thread before anyone else catches on to such low behavior...
It’s pretty nasty on your part, especially since he's one of the few guys here with the guts to post under his actual name and surname...

That's all from me...

Why would the European Union even bother meddling in a situation where one Islamist is kidnapping another?

As for who he is, the chaos at the airport says enough.
That defines his character.

He's old. I hope he leaves soon.

A link from 2019? 🤦

@manchild, spamming mile-long copy-pastes isn't any better or worse than those links you've been digging up from 2016 and 2019.

PR is everything.

His brand of populism was already well-known long before this... so moving the capital really doesn't change much at all!
He just confirmed what most of us have known for ages: there’s simply no room for Islamo-populism within the EU...

wearycanyon29 said:Trying to oust Erdogan would be straight-up meddling in the Republic of Turkey's internal affairs. He's their legally elected president, representing exactly what they want and expect.

I'm right there with you on this one... Totally agree!

Anyway, I really don't want to get into the whole debate about shutting down journalists or targeting the opposition right now...
Turkey - TR in World ·
It’s not even about whether von der Leyen made the right call after the fact... the real issue is what Erdogan strategically pulled off beforehand.

Well, now.
There are much bigger things at stake in the EU-Turkey relationship today than just debating Turkish chairs...

'Erdogan, Assassin!' French Armenians chant during genocide commemorations
''Erdogan, murderer,'' cry French Armenians on the anniversary of the genocide

Among the French Armenians marching through cities like Paris, Lyon, and Marseille yesterday to mark the 106th anniversary of the genocide were those who faced attacks last year from Turkish 'Grey Wolves' during their raid on Decines, a small suburb near Lyon with a large French Armenian population.

October 2020, Decines: iron bars, Turkish flags, the destruction of Armenian businesses, and chants praising the great leader...
“Where are the Armenians?” the attackers yelled while storming the town, swinging iron bars and waving national flags, shouting pro-Erdogan slogans as they vandalized Armenian storefronts.

''Hitlerdogan'' 😬

Now that the U.S. has officially recognized the Turkish genocide against the Armenians, I really think we need to start talking about kicking Turkey out of NATO... they just don't belong there.
Seriously, just lift his ban from the Grammy Awards. 🙂
If nothing else, it's because he’ll be running fewer miles on the global stage.

At the same time, it's actually hilarious how @wearybison63@Jeremy Johnson18
works: just show up in those discussion threads, it's vital. It doesn't even matter if you know anything about the topic... all that matters is being seen. That's how management notices you, and that's how you become a mod.😂😂

slyfox43 said:We aren't talking about territorial waters here; we're discussing the exclusive economic zone.

The original text touches on both, though it's a bit vague... but honestly, that's not the main point. The real issue is that these potential conflicts involving EU members really need to be settled before things spiral out of control. Especially when you're dealing with Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He’s proven time and again that his version of diplomacy usually just boils down to military force...
Turkey - TR in World ·
The Saudi Air Force just landed for some joint military drills... teaming up with the French, the USA, the UAE, and Cyprus.
President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan called these joint maneuvers "regrettable." 😁

I've been following this closely, but I have to admit, the Saudis caught me a bit off guard!
Still, maybe the Abraham Accords are finally clicking into place, piece by piece...
Because...
Right after those Saudis touched down, Turkey sent a diplomatic protest to Greece, the EU, and Israel regarding the Eastern Mediterranean—basically pushing back against any drilling in what Turkey claims as its own waters.
Eastern Mediterranean: Turkey issues warning to Greece, the EU, and Israel via diplomatic note

Well, now...
Those supposed Turkish waters were quite "generously" handed over to them by the Libyan government in 2019...😵 which basically means Turkey has stepped right into Egyptian, Greek, and Cypriot territory.

Scott Long71 said:Why did Twitter and Facebook ban Trump? Because they decided his claims were socially dangerous and harmful. It turns out social media platforms actually make judgments and act as editors...

If it were on Reddit, Trump would have been banned ages ago.

Oh, please.

One would expect at least a tiny bit of actual knowledge from you.

If you had even a shred of insight, you'd know Twitter allowed an editor from the New York Times to tweet that "France introduced registries for children of Muslim faith," lol!
The next day, she obviously deleted the tweet. And nothing happened—she just kept writing.
No, Twitter didn't ban her, and there was zero editorial intervention.

Basically: don't lecture me about the editorial policies of social media.
We all get our news from CNN or Fox News anyway, so don't try to sell us those stories about social media censorship. 🤦

Turkey just arrested 11 people working for Tehran.
They actually kidnapped and handed over a dissident—an ethnic Arab advocating for Khuzestan's independence.

Unbelievable...
