Can I get some advice?🙂
Here’s what I’m running:
EVGA 500 W, SS-520GB, Cooler Master Hyper 212, active PFC
kingston 16GB DDR3
AMD FX 8320
gigabyte 970a ud3
I'm looking at picking up an Nvidia 970.
Do I need to grab a new power supply, and will this card actually work with my current setup?
I'm looking to pick up a new GPU—budget is around $1,500, though I could probably stretch it a bit if it makes sense.
Here’s what I’m running right now:
1 x Gigabyte 970A-UD3 motherboard
1 x AMD FX-8320 processor
1 x 8GB (2x4GB) Kingston DDR3 @ 1600MHz
1 x PointOfView GTX 460 1024MB GDDR5 256-bit (shaders at 336/1350 MHz)
1 x 1TB Seagate BarraCuda HDD, 7200rpm, 32MB cache, SATA II
1 x Dell OptiPlex DVD burner, DVD±RW, 22x DVD±R, 8x DL, 40x CD-R
1 x Seasonic 520W power supply, SS-520GB, S12 II, active PFC
1 x Scythe Yasya CPU cooler (scys-1000)
Mainly using this setup for gaming and general productivity on a single monitor.
I'm looking to pick up a new GPU.

you're speaking from above
respect😁
but honestly—there’s no point trying to explain things when you just don't get it
(my deadlines run through October 10th, so please—don't hit me up until then)

Either you haven't eaten anything interesting or you just lack imagination, clearly
Or maybe you're just a coward afraid of your own shadow!
whichever way you want to play it

For anyone looking to trip, you don't need to be some total psycho—you just want to feel "normal," not have your brain completely fried. Honestly, I never fell for that nonsense when I was out there—I’ve already walked through the gates of perception. Besides, you can listen to Floyd and all that other incredible classic music without needing any help; that stuff is powerful and intoxicating enough on its own, even if certain things just look better with a little extra edge.
...look at the sky look at the river isn t it good...
For me, mushrooms and LSD are the ultimate way to experience music.
Everything just clicks—it’s like the music actually gains color.🙂
Do you guys ever use illegal substances to level up your music listening or creative sessions? And if you do, WHAT’S the move?🙂
She’s a total madman!!!! And honestly, she’s such a talented actress too. Have you guys seen Black Swan? It’s a brutal film.😛
What if kids actually listened to Pink Floyd and Milesa instead of just hearing Mozart blasting on every city bus? If that happened, you lot would probably be pivoting to mainstream pop just to prove how "alternative" and cool you are. Long live the mainstream hits—they’re the only thing that makes me feel like I actually matter more than everyone else. 🙂
Look, wanting peace doesn't make you broken. Real peace is often found in the little things—like watching a sunset. Most regular people living everyday lives deal with way too much unnecessary stress; of course they're going to crave some calm. Peace is subjective, too—for one person, it might mean letting loose at a dive bar with some country music, while for someone else, it’s all about meditation. Seeking tranquility isn't immature, and honestly, you probably need it in your own way, too. Though, I can't really judge from the outside—you know how people are shaped by their upbringing. For many, prayer, spirituality, and finding that mind-body balance is just baked into their culture. Not everyone grew up in a tiny, narrow-minded town stuck in old-fashioned ways.🙂
👍 It was actually Aristotle who credited him with *panta rei*—and honestly, that Heraclitean "war" isn't about actual combat in the traditional sense. It’s more of a metaphor for an intellectual struggle—one that leaves the dull-witted stuck in servitude while empowering the thinker to be truly free.
