Nicholas King said:Running a full-scale copy shop for Amazon-sized sheets—meaning you’ve got your own printer, your own toner supply, your own paper stock, plus all the overhead like taxes, equipment maintenance, rent, payroll, and so on and so forth—you're looking at paying $0.08 per sheet.

plus pocketing some extra cash on top...

So that party actually pulls 30% in the polls...

Emily Smith6 said:We’ve just caught wind of how the Republican Party plans to bail Vica Mihanović out of his doctoral degree scandal

A prominent member of the Republican Party mentioned to us recently that the strategy to salvage the academic reputation of Vica Mihanović—who happens to lead the party's local branch in San Francisco—will likely hinge on arguing that while his dissertation might be slim on substance, the small portion that does contain original scientific contribution was technically executed correctly.

According to this source, the committee is expected to rule that Mihanović's scientific contribution remains beyond reproach.

It really is like a family, isn't it? Always ready to cover for one of their own.

The family....mafia style.

That beast carries about 12 cubic meters of water—which is double what a Canadair (CL-415) can handle—and because it’s twice as fast, it can squeeze in significantly more sorties within the same timeframe, especially when dealing with those hard-to-reach locations... I mean, even the Americans actually toyed with the idea of acquiring them once upon a time...

Even America considered it, but the Beriev has some differences compared to the Canadair that make it less ideal for our needs.

Škegro: I didn't steal any bottle! And it wasn't whiskey, it was brandy.
“Believing that someone—even a die-hard Republican—snatched a bottle right in front of three cameras and fifty people... well, that takes a massive amount of stupidity. Or being blinded by pure hatred..."

The whole thing was trivial and harmless—but for Mirković, crafting a specific narrative was more important.
“Look, I don't think these online trolls are actually uneducated idiots. When you see them with their full names and faces, they're decent people.

That holds true today, and it applies to this Forum too.

I'm also convinced that most of you who vomit so much bile on this Forum—regardless of your politics—would be perfectly polite and tolerant if we were grabbing a beer at a local pub. This supposed "anonymity" of the Forum just brings out the absolute worst in everyone.

Yeah, he's got some nerve typing that under his real name. That little punk caught on video, and apparently Kraft Heinz is the famous distillery handing out moonshine in Johnny Walker bottles to ministers.

Robin Jones2 said:The true essence of the Republican Party was embodied by Borislav Škegro, a man who would steal a bottle of bourbon and hide it under his coat. I believe that was back in 1996.

That scene encapsulates everything you need to know about the Republican Party: the theft, the shamelessness, and the sheer sleaze of it all.

Still, it was Johnny Walker after all...

If you want the long version of the Republican Party's (and everyone else's) empty promises from the early 90s, just track down Tanja Torbarina's book "How We Broke Up." The second edition actually includes some newer stuff too.

A Republican wrote a scientific paper in Osijek, though he seems to have absolutely no clue who the thinker he’s citing actually is.

Ante Baran, a Republican and the Mayor of the Municipality of Lećevica—who happens to be running for reelection—

🤣

It’s not even surprising since the guy's a total moron, they just pushed him through anyway.

...we asked if he knew who Carl Schmitt was.

No. Karl Schmitt?
Yeah.

Never, never heard of him. Is he a physical person? Or... or...
Yeah.

Karl Schmitt? No, no, no, never, never in my life.
You haven't heard of him?

Man, never, never.
Then how are you mentioning him in the introduction of your paper?

How am I...?
You mention him as a modern political theorist.

Sir, we're ending this conversation now.

That moment when you realize someone is just incredibly dense. 🤣

Nothing's gonna change this unless they settle with a couple bags of potatoes. Maybe.

Enough already with all the filmmakers gossiping about morons in some random little country you're supposed to avoid. It’s honestly just doing more damage when people like Boban aren't even affected by this nonsense.

Adam Collins4 said:Man, you went from 200 down to 67, and all of them were detained specifically because they LACKED DOCUMENTATION...

So, basically, you lied three times—including the reason for the arrests...

And now you're lecturing me about being "malicious"? Sorry, but you aren't being "fair" or "decent" at all...

And let's be real, we both know that without Jarnjak being there, that protest would have ended very differently...

What are you talking about? Jarnjak? The Special Forces flat-out refused the order to move in on those protesters. People later claimed he turned his back on Harmon, but that's just straight-up lies.

Mark Hughes36 said:A doctorate should be a meaningful contribution to global science. There is zero chance that every single PhD awarded in America meets that standard, though judging how many are unworthy is a task I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Even the current Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States was publicly accused of plagiarism, so we can only imagine the average quality of doctorates coming out of certain departments.

And I even heard rumors of people getting degrees in Medjugorje or somewhere nearby... 🤷

Ugh, I know a Dr. with a degree from Mostar... a half-literate, unscrupulous mess.

Should I mention which political party they belong to?

electricnomad8 said:There was some discussion going on here earlier about forest theft being sanctioned by the Republican Party. I stumbled upon an article about it yesterday on WNYC. Turns out they just lifted it from an independent site called The Clash, which I hadn't heard of before—I'll have to dig around and see what their deal is. They're reporting that Krstičević was actually detained.!? If anyone is better at hunting down links than I am, please drop them here. This political drama is starting to get interesting.

That headline is a total joke. You really think the Republican Party would let Nemeze get hauled in?

FBI DETAINS SMITH? 'Arranged' deal for IT firm to build oil tanks at Colonial Pipelinelink

Honestly, neither D.D. nor King have the actual capacity to build those tanks; they'd just pick one of the winning firms and hire the exact same subcontractor anyway.

By the way...

...Back in 2014, Eric Brown—that legendary US fighter pilot and test pilot, basically the most decorated guy left in the US Navy—said in a documentary: "I actually witnessed Hitler shaking hands with Jesse Owens and congratulating him on what he had achieved"...Even then, President Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) never once invited Jesse Owens to the White House following his triumphs AT The Olympic Games. And when The Democrats bid for his support, Owens shut them down. Being a staunch Republican, he went with Alf Landon, Roosevelt's Republican opponent during the '36 election. wiki

Smith isn't perfect, but he gets the job done, honestly.

Are we gonna waste our breath on those pathetic 15 minutes, or talk about the other 1,425 left in the day?

Those pathetic 15 minutes of translated garbage on this forum? It’s just the same old Far-Right vs. Far-Left nonsense. Honestly, in most cases, there isn't even a debate worth having.

Steven Newman50 said:The movie is based on a book that everyone knows is pure fiction.

The book isn't the problem—Major King is.

Anyway, a great-grandfather of someone I used to know was actually at Stalingrad fighting with the Reds. Since there wasn't a retreat for three days, he and two other guys (as a lieutenant, plus two soldiers—everyone else was wiped out, don't ask me how big the unit was) ended up stuck in no man's land. They just had to wait until the front line moved enough for them to finally get back without getting shot by their own side for "cowardice."
