Hey there—so my dad (born in '53) just got his lab results back, and one of them shows elevated TPA levels. I tried doing a quick search on Google, but honestly, it wasn't very helpful. From what I’ve gathered, high levels are often linked to breast cancer in women... can someone please explain what this actually is and why it might be up?

Hey, everyone's body is wired differently—some people just prefer it that way. For instance, personally, I don't really feel the load sitting on my upper back at all; it all seems to settle right into my posterior chain instead.

Is that second video meant to be a "what not to do" guide for deadlifts?🤷

You’re setting yourself up poorly at the start, and you immediately end up dropping into an RDL position with a curved spine.

You really need to beef up those hamstrings a bit and figure out how to actually engage the glutes properly.

At least, that’s my take on it.

Look, I’m far from being some seasoned pro, but I have to agree—the execution just isn't quite right. That said, the weight itself and those pull-ups are impressive enough.👍

Insulin levels are climbing—which means insulin sensitivity is definitely in the zone.😁

The perfect setup would be grabbing a decent whey to mix into my morning oats, then hitting it again right after a workout—plus maybe some casein before I crash for the night.

It’s top-tier stuff, but man, it is (PRE)tty pricey.

Actually, I've found a really solid, budget-friendly alternative. www.pronutrition.com $50per kg of whey—you can snag it for $135 if you grab a bulk order of 7+kg.

Honestly, they're great!

They’ve got flavors like Cranberry, hazelnut, cappuccino, and a few others—I won't bore you with the full list, you can always go with the unflavored stuff, but Cranberry absolutely rules.😁

ambercrane32 said:@ Carl Taylor - what's the shipping situation look like? Any idea how much they charge or how fast it actually gets here?

They mostly use FedEx, so you can usually count on it arriving the next day—which isn't bad at all. As for the cost, expect to shell out somewhere around $30-$17 for shipping.

jadeseal81 said:Can I ask why?

If I'm reading this right, those look like soy proteins—which, let's be honest, a lot of people have some serious issues with. Honestly, just head over to Pronutrition and for $50 grab a kilo of whey; it’s going to be way higher quality than whatever stuff they're stocking at CVS😉

jadeseal81 said:Are those proteins at CVS actually any good?

I’m looking at the label—it seems like there’s about 89g of protein per 100g of powder, and with the price tag for a 350g tub, we're talking roughly $17...

Honestly, they aren't exactly the best bang for your buck. Short version: skip them.😉

and honestly—don't bother mixing glucose into oatmeal; just go with some whey instead.

Yeah, whey is the move. Or even just a spoonful of honey.😉

bluestag7 said:Hey everyone, I'm new here 🙂

I've been surfing through the site for a bit—just browsing the various gym threads—and decided to kick things off with that beginner's blastoff program. Now, since that routine includes a couple of rest days (maybe some light cardio sessions?), should I still be taking whey on those days? Or should I strictly stick to it on training days (specifically after my workouts)?

Thanks 🙂

Take it every day; I just don't think you'll need the glucose if you do.

jadetiger962 said:Whoever suggested using MuscleTech Nitro-Tech as a post-workout meal clearly hasn't spent much time thinking about it.

MuscleTech Nitro-Tech is really more of an all-around blend—you've got those fast-acting proteins mixed with slower ones—so you could technically use it as a Whey Protein Isolate substitute, I guess. Of course, going with straight Whey would be a much better call, but this works if you're in a pinch...

How on earth did you narrow it down to just those two? Especially when you're browsing an ultra-sketchy site like that...

rustywalker17 said:I take Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey (glucose, creatine... Whey Protein Isolate) in the morning and after training, then I have MuscleTech Nitro-Tech and some fasting before bed... is that okay??

Yeah, it’s fine—though instead of that MuscleTech stuff, you really ought to switch to a pure casein powder. Those "fast-acting" proteins found in the MuscleTech blend don't make much sense at night; you want to be leaning on slow-digesting casein during those hours. Sure, there's some in that MuscleTech mix, but it's definitely not as much as what you'd get from straight-up casein... and then fasting on top of that? Man, that's wild.😁
