AMC Theatres has only opened three locations in Mexico so far. They probably just used a trailer meant for their own local market!

It’s not that prices dropped, it’s just the dollar 😁 Just a few days ago it was over $2.25, now it’s sitting at 6.66!

Is this card actually worth grabbing? It’s right at my budget limit. I caught a review from some guy overseas who overclocked the core by +200 and his temps didn't even cross 60°C under load! Is that even realistic for a single-fan setup with a tiny heatsink and no heat pipes? Noise levels are about 32dB at idle and 42dB when it's working hard. Not sure how loud that really is, but my CPU stock cooler hits about 65dB on the same app.🤔

Still, you really ought to call or shoot them an email before paying upfront. That ASUS card was listed as in stock at San Francisco even a month after they sold out of their last unit. 🙏
I ordered a GPU from another shop one afternoon via COD, and the site showed 4/4 in stock. By the next morning, the website said 0/4 available, and I never even got a confirmation email. I eventually had to hunt them down with an email just to find out they were canceling my order entirely. 🙂

By the way, MediaWorld recently had the ASUS 960 STRIX listed as $505 for a couple of days before they realized their mistake 🤦 😁

Just picked up an MSI GF GTX950 gaming, 2GB GDDR5, HDMI, DP, DX12 from Newegg, $495 shipped straight to my door.
I went with the dual-fan model because the cooling looks smart and it stays dead silent when I'm just idling.

I checked out the R9 380, but I think it might be overkill for my processor (AMD Athlon II X4 640), plus my budget is strictly $500. With shipping, I'd be looking at $550. I'm definitely upgrading to an AMD FX later, but right now I need a decent GPU because my integrated graphics are garbage. My monitor is a 17" LG L177WSB running at 1440x900. I've heard Nvidia cards don't hit the CPU as hard as AMD ones do.
How good are those cheaper GTX 950s with cooling, since they only have a single fan? I really liked the MSI gaming card because the fans stay off until it hits a certain temp, so it stays quiet, and the reviews for it are solid across the board.
The Gigabyte extreme is slightly stronger, comes with a backplate, and it's shorter! In terms of build quality and cooling, they're basically the same. From some tests I saw, it actually gets pretty close to a GTX 960.

Finally pulling the trigger on a new card 👏 but I'm stuck between two options here

Is it worth dropping an extra $5 to grab the GIGABYTE? The price gap used to be bigger, but they both dropped recently.
Also, how much slower is the MSI R7 370 gaming 2 g compared to those two?

How much of a difference does a backplate actually make on a graphics card?

I'm running this LC POWER unit and it's dead silent.👍 This is actually my second one from the exact same model and brand. My first one died because of a mistake I made 😁. It ran perfectly quiet for two years without a single issue, which is exactly why I went out and bought the same one again!

I was just checking out the NVIDIA GTX 950 today. Prices on Amazon and here in the States are pretty much identical. The only difference is Amazon carries a few specific models we don't see locally.

That Asusica R7 265 disappeared from Best Buy back on December 10th, 2015, yet they kept insisting it was in stock for another whole month. 😵It looks like you really do need to send an inquiry before paying for an item upfront. 😁

Sony TVs just can't compete with the big names when it comes to picture quality. There’s a reason they’re cheaper.
For that kind of money, you're better off grabbing a 24" Samsung or LG Full HD monitor. It's plenty for gaming.

I’m currently running an MSI Radeon HD 5550 with 1GB DDR2 and a 128-bit bus on a 17" CRT monitor at 1280x768.
I managed to play Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil 6, Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed III, and Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition, all on medium settings. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag was a struggle even on low settings at this resolution, and Grand Theft Auto IV was basically unplayable. If I tried any of these on a 22" screen, nothing would run smoothly.

Like someone else mentioned, an R7 250 x is pretty much the bare minimum if you want to actually play anything. I decided to just grab a GTX 950 so I can have some peace of mind for a while.

That MSI model is pricey👎 but it’s an awesome cooler, just like you said. Honestly, the pricing here in the US is such that you can grab a beefier model for just a few bucks more. For example, with the price of an MSI R7 370 gaming, you can find a GTX 950 from a different brand in the US. Or, for the price of an MSI GTX950, you could easily pick up an R9 380.

They’ve completely lost it. It’s $150 over here in the States, but they’ve jacked up the prices back home. I also don't get what AMD is thinking with that R7 370 card—they hiked the price recently so it's basically sitting right next to the GTX950 now.
