I'm running into some issues too... whenever I try to read a new message, it forces me to delete an old one first, even though my Gmail isn't even full yet...

You should probably slow down the subtitle speed—basically just hit the spacebar until it’s pacing exactly how you want it.

Does anyone know if there's a script or some kind of widget I could add to my signature to track how many times a specific link gets clicked? Like, a little click counter...??????
What does tolerance mean to you? in Psychology ·
Honestly, just pack up and move somewhere where you can actually find some peace. It’s way better to hit the reset button and start over from scratch if it means finally enjoying your life, rather than spending your whole existence putting up with bullshit only to realize later that it didn't have to be this way. At the end of the day, what's a few thousand miles compared to finally being able to breathe?

quiethound45 said:Look, I get it... honestly, I find the whole thing just as ridiculous as you do. It doesn't even bother me personally because I know I’m not at fault here—I guess some of us are just laid-back by nature—but the sheer amount of hostility and arrogance out there is wild. I feel like I can't even relax in public anymore or just exist in peace. People like that drive you toward paranoia; you're constantly trying to dodge these awkward situations, but since you can't, you start looking over your shoulder, waiting for someone to snap at you over nothing...
I don't know where you're located, but living in a massive city like New York, you just can't escape social interaction no matter how much you want to...

Out here in the Midwest, specifically near Indianapolis—you don't see this stuff nearly as often, though it happens occasionally. From what I've noticed, people here either ignore you completely or they'll just give you a piece of their mind if they have a problem.......

So, there you go—you definitely aren't alone in feeling this way. Hang in there...

Look, I probably went a bit too hard on you about those walks with your wife, but honestly, it’s kind of inevitable... everyone just does what they have to do to get by.

But honestly, that’s not even what’s getting to me...it’s just one more thing in a long line of things that have happened lately...
I used to work part-time at a local 7-Eleven for a bit—something I'd never actually experienced before😲 ...and it made me realize how much I truly respect people who work in customer service...

It’s obvious to me that not everyone is an animal lover. That’s why I try to be mindful; I tend to go where it's less crowded, I stay away from crowds of kids, and I do my best to make sure my love for animals doesn't bother anyone...but people just don't see that, and they still come at me. Plus, there are plenty of things I personally dislike, but I still tolerate them... I don't stick my nose where it doesn't belong, and I let people live their lives however they want. Clearly, most people don't see it that way, though...😢

You just have to accept that situations like this are going to happen; there's no avoiding it. Just head to places where you feel comfortable, where you can just hang out with your dog in peace. It's honestly best to just ignore those types of people—act like you couldn't care less what they say. You could even play it off by acting totally oblivious and saying something like, "Wow, someone's having a rough day!" or "Who's making all that noise?"... But if they keep badgering you and getting right in your face even after you've walked away, then just walk out and leave them to it. Not everything is a personal attack on you... everyone has their moments where they just snap...🙂

quiethound45 said:🙂 haha, you guys actually cheered me up! I was starting to think I was the only one out there 😳 ...just kidding, obviously 😬
Anyway, I don't know—I feel like it’s just a matter of character and how someone was raised. Like, it comes down to their mindset and personality, which is why I tagged this under psychology. If you look at it from a psychological perspective, whether people decide to attack someone for no reason or stay chill is entirely up to the individual. Now, I totally agree that a bunch of different factors have tanked social tolerance to zero, and people have become awful because of their own internal struggles, but we all have problems—it doesn't mean we all go around biting people...
To give you a specific example, my last walk with my dog really triggered this feeling...
I was walking, just lost in thought about my own issues (that brutal Bar Exam 😳 😬), when my dog—who is honestly so sweet she wouldn't hurt a fly and has never even growled at anyone—was just strolling along. She stopped ahead of me to wait, but then some guy cut me off and ended up right in front of her. He just turned around and started screaming at me for absolutely no reason, yelling about leashes and whatnot. I was in total shock... nobody did anything to him. I even told him the dog wasn't going to bother him and that if he was uncomfortable, he should just walk around her, and I tried to keep moving. But he just kept yelling... completely losing his mind for no cause...
Look, there are idiots everywhere; I'm used to it... but it hit me hard because in that exact same situation, I would have just walked around the dog and moved on (especially since the road was wide enough for a semi-truck, and the dog was just on the curb, so he basically had to stop behind her—it was like he was hunting for a fight 😕)... I don't know... I feel sad. I'm not worried about myself, per se, but what if someone like that decides to hit a pet out of nowhere tomorrow? Or attacks a kid and leaves them in shock? I don't know... this intolerant society really scares me...👎

If I were in his shoes, I would've just walked around the dog and laughed it off. Animals make me happy, and I honestly can't wrap my head around why he was so worked up...

Seriously, just grab a boyfriend and have him walk with you and the dog next time...
People can be absolute trash; some are just sitting there waiting for an excuse to lash out at someone...
And that "gentleman" probably wouldn't have barked at you if you were a guy. He only feels tough because he gets to pick on a woman with a dog, while he likely goes home and gets yelled at by his wife...
I actually have a strategy for stuff like this. In those situations, I start laughing—like, a sweet, genuine laugh—because I genuinely can't process what's happening. I just shut it down. I think to myself, "Why do you care? You're not that important anyway." And if they start getting insulting to my face? Man, nothing bugs me more than some random smart-ass trying to lecture me in the middle of the street while everyone watches. Not gonna happen...

It’s like I wrote it myself... Look, I have my limits too. I don’t just snap at everyone immediately. I stay calm, I keep my cool, but once someone crosses the line, I react. People tend to mistake composure for weakness; they think because you're level-headed, you're a pushover they can walk all over. But if they push it too far, they're going to find out I have teeth too.

...Some people act like they're the only ones dealing with anything. They get incredibly sensitive, but honestly, that's just how people are—you meet all kinds out there.

Maybe they only start these threads about people who are actually chill and way too patient.
Emotional Intelligence: A blessing or a curse? in Psychology ·
VioletStorm said:What you’re describing is what we actually call INTELLIGENCE.
The thing people try to label as "emotional intelligence" is basically the Mormonism of the US:
Americans got so frustrated by the fact they didn't have an indigenous religion that they just had to invent one from scratch.
It’s the same with people who aren't bright. They desperately want to feel smart. You see it with middle managers, scammers, even those guys running shady corner cafes... they all possess a very specific, low-level type of cunning known as STREET SMARTS.
But nowadays, because there’s this massive trend where everyone wants to feel special—even though most people can't think their way out of a paper bag—they cooked up the term EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE to repackage that basic SHREWDNESS.
They’ve set it up as a rival to actual INTELLIGENCE, claiming it’s actually VAZNIJ. So, according to them, the EQ of some guy working a betting window or some local hustler like Franc Ozbolt or Cinober is somehow more significant than the IQ of someone like Albert Einstein.
And honestly, it’ll keep going like this as long as American managers keep writing self-help books about life instead of focusing on what they actually do best: stealing.

Man, this is so well put. Seriously, kudos! 👍

Author, if you ask me, having that perspective is more of a blessing than a curse. 😉

If this movie stays even halfway true to the comic, I’m going to be more than happy with it.
But let's be real—the only decent movie featuring Cage is Gone in 60 Seconds.😵
Partygoers? in Music ·
Zachary Thompson2 said:There’s just zero variety; it’s always the same crowd. At first, you think it's great because everything is fresh, but eventually, it just gets old. You see the same names on every lineup, and if someone actually new shows up with a different sound, there are only like 50 people at the party (DJ Food). Honestly, the only two sets that actually hit for me in the last two years were Carl Cox and LTJ Bukem.
To be fair, after LTJ, I almost started hating the scene entirely because of all those DJs playing that aggressive, terrible 800bpm drum and bass that’s been played at every single D&B night for years. Screw a scene like that.

Saying there were only 50 people at DJ Food... unbelievable😕 this guy is a legend
And that's why whenever Morales🙂 and his crew show up, the whole vibe goes straight down the drain.
It's bad, bad, and just plain bad. It’s all going to end up being nothing more than local filler😠 so please, God, strike this scene with lightning or just some rotten fruit...

Best online payment cards? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
I set up both my domestic and foreign currency accounts at Bank of America about three weeks ago. I signed up for online banking, and I'm just waiting on two more cards (Microsoft software) to arrive in the mail. The thing is, I don't have a steady monthly income right now... Before this, I tried my luck at Citibank, but they wouldn't even let me get a single card because I don't have a consistent paycheck coming in every month.
Anorexia, bulimia, binge eating—I want to hear from you. Seriously, let’s talk in the comments. To be completely honest, I struggle with all of it myself. It might sound heavy or even strange to say out loud, but it's my reality. Sadly, it's just how things are.
