Transcendental Meditation in Spirituality ·
Lesson 1
The word "science" comes from the root word "to know." Essentially, science is knowledge; systematic knowledge is what we call science. Therefore, a science of Being means having a systematic understanding of existence—a structured way to grasp the very nature of reality and life itself.
For centuries, this field of absolute existence was described using the language of mysticism. However, in our modern scientific era, there's a certain skepticism toward anything wrapped in mystical terms. Because of this, the study of Being—the absolute field of the universe—hasn't yet been integrated into any mainstream branch of science.
A systematic method has been developed that allows anyone to directly experience the pure state of Being. This is achieved by consciously experiencing the finer layers of thought (through the repetition of a mantra), eventually reaching the most subtle level of thought, and finally arriving at the very source of thought itself. At that point, the conscious spirit reaches the pure state of Being.
So, what exactly is Being?
Beneath the finest layer of everything in the relative field lies an abstract, absolute field of pure Being that is unmanifest and transcendental. It isn't matter, nor is it energy. It is pure Being—a state of pure existence. This state of pure existence serves as the background for everything that exists. Everything is an expression of that pure existence, or absolute Being, which is an essential component of all relative life. One eternal, unmanifest, absolute Being expresses itself through the countless forms of life and existence found in the world.
How can we distinguish existence from things that exist?
Existence is abstract; that which exists is concrete.
You could say that existence is life itself, whereas the things that exist are merely eternally changing phases of the unchanging fact of existence. Existence is the abstract foundation upon which the concrete structure of life is built. This includes all aspects of the individual: the body, the spirit, thought, speech, action, behavior, perception, and how we influence our environment, as well as all forms of cosmic existence.
BEING: THE FOUNDATION OF LIFE
We know our lives begin with breathing and thinking, and we will see later how the unmanifest, transcendental Being first manifests itself through breath and thought. Our actions depend on our thoughts. Before we do anything, we have to think. Yet, we rarely stop to ask what our thoughts actually depend on. In order to think, we must, at the very least, exist. Being is the foundation of all living.

Hey, I’m looking for some info—does anyone know of a combat sports club around here? If you do, hit me up, but just a heads-up: I’m basically a product of pure chaos, so don't bother with all that "honor and discipline" nonsense. What I’m really after is a place where they organize actual sparring sessions, something more along the lines of those extreme underground shows. Is a lack of aggression in my weekly routine actually messing with my health? Or, if there isn't such a place, let's start a discussion and organize some "therapy sessions" for everyone craving a good scrap. We could even scout out some young talent ready to get a little roughed up. You know how it is—there's a long tradition of this kind of thing in certain Eastern cultures, and since everyone seems so obsessed with it, why don't we make it happen for our dear countrymen? Let them get beat up just like they used to beat others up. Honestly, I'm ready to lead this whole little happening, even if I have to throw some punches myself. It's what needs to be done. To keep it brief, I'll just list a sample price list of what our "services" would include—things you'd gladly pay for, while we provide extra rewards based on how much you spend and show us your receipts... Anyway, I won't drone on and depress you before we've even started. Here is the menu:

Type of Beatdown: Price in USD:

Two-minute slapping session $6.75
Two-minute kicking session $17
*Instant Knockout $167
**Ambiguous Stand-up Fight $33
***Current Paralysis / Ring Flight via Presentation $33
****Fight Against a Duo in Harmony $233

...and it all boils down to one thing: gambling. Just like how people over in Tokyo or Beijing love to bet, if I crank up your nerves, trigger your emotions, and drive you into a rage, and you find yourself actually wanting a beating, I’ve got just the treatment for you.... COME AND GET SOME REAL BAD...DON'T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU...
...................... $1667

* A special treatment designed for the bravest of the bunch—and by that, I mean the men. This is the most expensive option because it involves a single strike that knocks you out cold, allowing you to go home happy knowing you were foolish enough to pay for it. The price is hiked up specifically due to the guilt involved. Think about it.

** A treatment tailored for the cynics who aren't quite committed enough to pay full price for a knockout. Instead, they'd rather dominate the scene. For these folks, I offer a slightly less painful way to lose money—a method that's almost enjoyable, where you hop around a bit before finally transitioning to a horizontal position.

*** This one is for the total skeptics. It's essentially a demonstration meant to intimidate whoever paid thinking they'd get a better deal than the guy described in the previous section. Basically, whether you believe in it or not, this is a total "show program" where I demonstrate martial arts techniques like choking, paralyzing, and suffocating, ultimately forcing you to exit the ring of your own volition....

**** This treatment is intended for best friends who think teaming up makes them smarter or stronger—well, we'll see about that. The hint regarding "harmony" is that I have to act like a conductor; one of the candidates interested in this package will literally have to scream to make their partner recoil from the sight, causing them to forfeit. This adds a psychological layer to the service and serves as proof that true friendship doesn't exist... at least, not in this context.

I don't know you, so decide for yourselves: do you want someone to take you out, or would you rather keep your cash, head down to a local dive, and just stay out of trouble?

Now, take another look at the light. Could that be the last thing you ever see after me? Peace—I didn't mean to interrupt, but I’m genuinely curious about some of those notorious clubs in NYC, because honestly, man, I could get bored in a place like Chicago for a lifetime....

Man, if only tech issues were actually that easy to fix... It’s tough to give a "silver bullet" solution that works every single time. You usually have to sink hours upon hours into it before you find anything, and you always walk away thinking you're some kind of genius who will never face this again—only to end up right back where you started. Honestly, the better your troubleshooting skills, the faster you'll crack it. Don't give up yet; keep digging, you'll eventually hit on something that works.

I’m honestly thinking about heading out to Europe this summer, picking up a new language, and finding work in the tourism industry. Maybe be a tour guide, travel around—I don't care about the money, really. I just want to live my life and enjoy myself. 🙂

👋

We all have those moments... but you see, after getting a good night's sleep, things feel a little more grounded.

It feels to me like you’re having a really hard time handling setbacks. Honestly, failing an exam is just part of the college experience for everyone—failing a grade isn't the end of the world. It seems like you're mostly making excuses to yourself for "failing" at school. You mention choosing your major because of the money, but then say you actually want to help people, blah blah blah... as if it’s not your fault that the field doesn't pay well. It sounds like a lot of justifications. Just set all that aside, forget about what everyone else expects from you, and take a real look at your actual skills and where you'd actually thrive. Don't lower your standards just because you're afraid.

Chloe Lopez77 said:So, here’s my story...
I enrolled in law school last year. Honestly? I was just chasing a "one day" paycheck. I didn't really stop to think about the sheer mountain of studying and exams required to actually get that money—which, let's be real, isn't even that much anyway.
After a year, my transcript is basically a blank slate (except for English, which I actually managed). But I didn't just give up; right after summer break, I dove straight into studying and tried to make it work.
By September, I passed the written parts for two classes, but the oral exams absolutely crushed me. It totally killed my motivation for this whole major. I just couldn't face flipping through hundreds of pages of the same textbook or staring at those same professors again. Every time I tried to start studying, I’d just remember those absolute monsters of instructors and lose all steam.
Two weeks ago, I decided to quit law. I’m usually not the type to ever back down, but I feel like it's just not worth sacrificing my mental health over.
Lately, I’ve been isolating myself from everyone. I haven't been eating much (and normally I eat five or seven meals a day... thank God it hasn't shown on my weight yet), I can't sleep, you name it.
Deep down, I’ve always wanted to do something meaningful, like volunteering or something similar. I also really wanted to be a journalist.😬
Of course, when I told my parents that, they shot me down immediately with that classic line: "What are you going to do with journalism?" So, I went to law school instead.
Now, my family is constantly breathing down my neck about how I "wasted two years" for nothing, and they’re honestly questioning if I’ll even bother finishing my degree at all.
I told them—and I told myself—that I’m going to take the entrance exams for the Philosophy Department this summer. I'll grab some study guides, practice, hit the books, and all that. I want to enroll in something like linguistics, psychology, or sociology—something I can actually enjoy studying, unlike the misery of law school.
They say they support me, but I can see the skepticism and disappointment in their eyes every single day.
I’ve decided to sign up at a volunteer center because they travel a lot and help people, which are two of my favorite things to do.🙂
I’ve realized that everything I truly want to do in life doesn't have a massive material payoff (which is fine by me since I'm not materialistic), but then again, you still have to live somewhere one day.
So, I am sooo confused and I have no idea what to do next.
I'm scared that even if I get into the Philosophy Department, what if I struggle to finish on time? Who can guarantee me a job, a good salary, happiness, or anything else?
I don't know... every day I keep thinking about the fact that I have until July, and I'm terrified that if I land a job somewhere, I'll lose interest in school entirely and—God forbid—just give up on higher education altogether.
To make matters worse, my older sister is a total superstar at her university—straight A's, crushing everything she does.👍
I just can't stand the thought of potentially ending up as just another "average high school grad" who never quite made it.
Maybe this is just a phase—maybe it's just the stress of hard classes or making a sudden decision—but I feel so stupid, like I'm just taking up space.
I'm not looking for advice or comments, though I guess some helpful input wouldn't hurt 😉, I just needed to vent, I guess.🙂

Nobody can ever guarantee that...

Well, you said you wanted to do journalism, but your parents shut you down... so why not just go for journalism now? They should be your motivation to prove them wrong. Instead of letting their doubt weigh you down, use it as fuel to show them that you actually can do it.

Alright, go get some solid sleep and give that brain of yours a rest... then you can ease your way back into journalism when you're ready.

Gynecology question in Health ·
For the past year, I’ve been dealing with constant back pain and a low-grade fever (around 98.6°F) that fluctuates slightly up or down from there.
It turns out I have some kidney inflammation... which is basically being monitored now.
About five months ago, they told me I had a cyst (I ended up in the ER because of heavy, painful bleeding roughly every two weeks).
Because of all that, I’ve been going to doctors constantly; one minute there was a cyst on the left, then the right... sometimes it was bigger, sometimes smaller, you name it.
Since my ovaries are basically in constant pain, I kept going back for checkups.
Well, it turned out I had a severe vaginal infection. They gave me some medicated suppositories, and I honestly thought that was the end of it...
After finishing the treatment, I went in for an ultrasound where my OBGYN told me there is a HYPERECHOIC OVAL MASS about 2 cm on my left ovary (Dermoid).
And on the right, there's an ANANECHOIC MASS about 3 cm.
He ordered blood work for markers, so now I'm just waiting on the results.
He mentioned that it doesn't look great, but we need to wait for the labs to come back first.
I did a little digging online, and from what I can tell, a Dermoid is classified as a tumor.
My doctor wouldn't give me a straight answer—I think he was worried about how I'd react—but while he was explaining things, he seemed really hesitant and uncomfortable.
I tried telling him, "Look, just tell me the truth, I can handle it."
What I really want to know is if this actually qualifies as a tumor, and what exactly a CA-125 marker can reveal.
If anyone has experience with this, I would love to hear from you. To be honest, I’ve been through the ringer before—multiple surgeries without anesthesia, sepsis, even spent time on a ventilator twice and was hovering near death... so I'm prepared for whatever news comes my way. I just want to understand what's happening.
I'm 20 years old.
Sorry for the long vent! I hope you don't mind reading such a massive wall of text.😁

Thanks so much.👍

I’m really not one for the death penalty—I’ve already said my piece on this... the fifth commandment is pretty clear: THOU SHALT NOT KILL!👍
The death penalty feels like such a relic from a dark, primitive era. It needs to be abolished everywhere across the globe. Just think about how many innocent people have been wrongly accused only to end up facing an electric chair or a guillotine... it's absolutely horrifying.
It immediately makes me think of that Björk movie, Dancer in the Dark—just devastating.
As for Saddam Hussein, honestly, he has to live with the hell he created inside himself.
But what about Bush??😈 To me, he and his entire inner circle are the ultimate living monsters... when is justice finally going to catch up with him?

Anderlon said:Who says we aren't transparent? 😁

Look, the moderators aren't open because we made a call a long time ago to handle the site's management and decision-making behind closed doors. That was the agreement, and we’ve stuck to it ever since. People know that whatever is discussed in the moderator section stays there—even when someone steps down from their role, they aren't supposed to leak anything. It’s not like we’re hiding deep dark secrets, but it’s a pact. If we suddenly decided to publish everything now, we'd be breaking our original agreement retroactively, which just wouldn't be right. Some people might not appreciate that change. Personally, I've said before that anything I've posted in there could be copy-pasted anywhere. But if we ever move toward making the moderator section public, it would only apply moving forward, not looking back at the past.

Why can't we just make it a read-only subforum? Because if you could see the threads and discussions, it would be almost impossible for you not to chime in, and once you start commenting, you're effectively part of the inner circle. Publicly, people ask endless questions and demand explanations, and with so many users, things get chaotic—plus, some people can be pretty relentless (though you don't have to worry about that in the moderator section, since we can easily 😉 deal with them)). Besides, if the topics were visible, it would feel totally uncool to tell you that you can't participate.

I actually wouldn't mind if some regular users joined the discussions in the moderator section, provided they are genuinely interested and can offer constructive input for the site's growth. In fact, I've already put a proposal for that in the moderator section.

As for those "three questions" of yours, I sense (beyond just curiosity 😉) a genuine desire to have broader discussions on important site matters, and I can get behind that. As long as the debates stay civil and make sense, I'm down. We can give it a shot...

Mr. Anderlon. Your very first sentence, and the tone you used, really sets the stage for how your whole post should be read.

Do you honestly think anyone with half a brain is going to believe a single word of what you just wrote? 😎

"It's not secrets," you say. Give me a break.

I am strictly against the death penalty for any living creature, period. 🙂 That even goes for guys like Saddam Hussein...
The whole mess in Iraq was just handled by the US military😈 and honestly, it’s nothing but pure anarchy. There isn't a shred of justice to be found there...🙂
My heart goes out to the people caught in those endless Middle East conflicts; they're being played like pawns. Who are they actually dying for? Whose ideals are they sacrificing themselves for?😕
Bush😈 and the big oil giants are the ones winning here—they're the ones pocketing all that oil money...
While the poor are losing their lives...🙂 we sit here debating capital punishment, when in reality, the world is ruled by one thing: the god of oil—MONEY.😢
OB/GYN Discussion Thread in Women's Health ·
Hey Lara, I know this might sound silly, but here goes. If you don't mind me asking, do you have a gynecologist you’d recommend?
OB/GYN Discussion Thread in Women's Health ·
Hey everyone.

I’ve been scrolling through this forum and honestly, I’m just feeling really confused. I actually had an appointment with Dr. Gudelj in Hartford once, and personally, I thought she was great. I had no idea there were lawsuits filed or anything like that. Usually, I register with Dr. Doke over in the suburbs, but I can't stand her office. It feels like it hasn't been updated since the late 60s—just a classic, outdated clinic without a single modern piece of equipment. When I go in, she’s busy doing crosswords, and when she does answer my questions, it's just one-word "yes" or "no" responses.
Anyway, long story short: it looks like I'm pregnant. Two different tests confirmed it. Now I'm in a bit of a bind. I want a REAL gynecologist covered by my insurance who has more than just a desk in their exam room. Ideally, I'd love someone located in Brooklyn since I live right here in the city.
My husband is from the Midwest and I'm from the West Coast, so when we first moved here, we didn't know a soul. You're probably going to laugh, but we basically just signed up with whatever doctors sounded friendly when we first registered. It sounds crazy, but that's how it happened.
So, if anyone has any solid, vetted recommendations for a decent gynecologist that takes my insurance, I would be incredibly grateful.
I really need this because, clearly, I’m about to become a mom, so any help you can give is much appreciated.
On a side note, I also wanted to give a huge shout-out to my previous gynecologist back home, Dr. Lidija Pejković. She was absolutely amazing!

Thanks so much.
