Is there a deadline to switch to a new doctor? My current one’s contract ended on January 31st, and I just got the notice yesterday.
What happens if I can't find someone else?

Not quite, though I’m hoping I can actually get a straight answer here. In my case, I'm looking for a gynecologist, but really any specialist could jump ship to private practice. That's why I'm wondering: what actually happens to patients when doctors make that move? Is there some kind of legal deadline for us to register with a new provider? And why on earth do some doctors just flat-out refuse to take on new patients? Also, please don't push me back toward the "Women's Corner" section—I already told you I didn't find what I needed there. Thanks. 🙄

My bad, Jose Miller3, let me just rephrase the topic like this:

I got a notification from the Social Security Administration today saying my primary care doctor isn't under contract with them anymore, so I need to pick a new one. They sent over instructions on how to switch, but I have no clue who I should actually sign up with. What happens if I miss the deadline to register with someone new? And what if nobody will take me on?

Honestly, I don't know... my doctor isn't taking any new patients right now.

Please, just ask her!

But seriously, what does it mean if they aren't accepting new patients? Am I going to end up without a doctor because of this? What if nobody is taking anyone new???

Jose Miller3, dammit, I already wrote that I posted there first and nobody gave me a response. 😠 😢

Hey! I really need some advice! (I posted this in the women's section first, but didn't get any replies here)

So, I see both a private gynecologist and one through my insurance.

Yesterday, I got a notification from my insurance provider saying that my current primary doctor is no longer in their network, so I need to pick a new one. I have the instructions on how to switch, but I have no clue who to choose. Does anyone have recommendations? (Ideally, I'd love to find a woman who is really gentle/kind).

What actually happens if I miss the deadline to register with a new doctor?

I'm looking for someone in the Chicago or greater metropolitan area.

Honestly, you guys aren't even trying if you think we're just going to let this slide without some serious consequences 😁

It’s just like how R. called out that student who folded and hid the second they started attacking the guru—asking why he didn't step up and fight back instead of acting like such a coward.. 😎

Burn it all down, let's see them face the music 😈

And you're just an illusion anyway, so if things fall through, you won't even be able to hold a grudge 😁

Since people are saying anyone insulting the guru deserves to lose their head, maybe you could at least give him a little footwear nudge. 🤣 😂

This whole thing just goes to show how impossible it is to make any progress without a guru. I mean, who else is going to rein in an uncontrolled ego like this? 😁

Ramana would never have said something like that. Everyone always saw him as an incredibly polite man—he wouldn't even call someone by their first name, which is a huge sign of respect in Indian culture—let alone insult someone's teacher.

But that’s the fundamental issue with Advaita. Even though Ramana himself taught that a guru is essential for those who haven't actually realized the Self (rather than just philosophizing about it), we see all these blown-up egos masquerading as enlightened beings. They try to claim realizations they are miles away from actually achieving, acting incredibly arrogant—something a true seeker would never do. It's like seeing people parading around in borrowed finery. Advaita is probably the most misused teaching in history because people use the concept of non-duality to justify all sorts of nonsense and distort the actual practice of jnana-yoga. It's one of the very things genuine seekers constantly warn against.

Anyway, why bother caring what fools say? The dogs bark, but the caravan keeps moving. 😁

Besides, why would you be embarrassed by the guru? Who knows what he's already seen through.

No saint has a perfectly clean past (and honestly, neither do we 😁 )

If you showed up here, it means you want to change and grow, and he’d have to accept that.

Just write him a note—keep it short and sweet—and seal it with kisses and tears 😁

And hey, if you have an inside connection in the sect, maybe it'll actually reach him.

So, you got a hookup?

Well, do ya, punk? 😁

R. was famous for being unable to stand "impurity" in people... or let's say, he couldn't even sleep once when Vivek, just as an experiment, tucked some cash under his bed without telling him (he always preached that he couldn't touch money). If any spiritually unawakened folks touched it, he'd feel physical pain and avoid it... well, unknown claimed that was just a "performance for the public." Even R. himself admitted that even as a sannyasin who is above it all, he had to strictly follow the dharmic rules of his ashram (like avoiding talking to women, any contact with money, etc.) to set an example.

Now, leave the tears and kisses to unknown 😁 😛 hmm, not sure about the "sweet" part... or the "short" part... 😁.. but I'll try my best to be good and brief... hmmm. 😬
How does that sound? 🤔

Connections, connections... in America, everything runs on connections.😁

I have to say this so you don't take it personally 😁

And what kind of code would a guy like Ramakrishna have where he’d be leaving sticky notes on a public bulletin board? 😁

If you've got questions, just ask; He isn't here for nothing 😉

And how do you know I don't have a gorgeous, blue-eyed, feminine unknown lying around?

Alright then, so I should wear it after all? 😁 Just making sure I don't offend anyone, obviously... 😁

I'd be too embarrassed to even show up to Ramakrishna like that... I mean, the man knew exactly how to avoid people... once his favorite student (who he basically treated as a spiritual son and was his "right hand" alongside Vivek) came to visit and he couldn't even touch him... turns out he found out the guy had accidentally eaten something weird that day. 😁

If I actually showed up, I probably couldn't even talk about the building... it’d probably collapse on its own 🤣

Well... personally, I’d even ask... but doing it over the phone feels super awkward... plus, I tend to dump my dilemmas on people way too often.. unless, of course, he were my guru 😁 Maybe I'll write that unknown if I can manage to pull it off without sounding like some petty provocateur 😁

But hey, who knows? We all know Samsung is the big player here 😳

Maria Harris32 said:About twenty years ago in Washington, D.C., there was this group called ZZ Top. I remember seeing their music video for "as it was at eight" playing on a "Moonlight Sonata" segment back in the day.
Is there anyone on this forum who can tell me a bit about them, or maybe help me get in touch with someone who actually played in that band?

Hey everyone,
I used to listen to ZZ Top back in '84 and '85 while I was living in a town similar to Des Moines. I think it was being played on Radio Velika Gorica. Back then, Ozren Kanceljak was running things at that station (if I'm remembering the name right), so if anyone knows him, he might have some leads on the band and its members.

Man, if you're looking for that high-end tech vibe, this guy isn't it. :cerek: But honestly? Even if he’s a total mess, he’s just so incredibly charming and cool. :cerek: 😁

Look, I know I can be a bit of a jerk and a total misanthrope, but I wouldn't even bother reaching out if I didn't have his number 😁 At worst, I'll just drop off the unknown 😁

Wait, so you're saying you don't want the authentic Italian Nutella? Guess there's more for me then! 🥳

Hey! I really need some advice!

So, I currently see both a private OB-GYN and one through my insurance. For my private visits, I go to Dr. Darko Husar (based on some recommendations here on the forum), and I’ve been incredibly happy with his care.

However, I just got a notification from my insurance provider saying that my current primary gynecologist is no longer in their network, so I need to select a new one. I have the instructions on how to switch providers, but I’m totally lost on who to pick. Does anyone have any recommendations? Ideally, I’d love to find a woman who is gentle.

Also, what happens if I miss the deadline to register with a new doctor?

I'm looking for someone in the Chicago or greater metropolitan area.
