Entering a trance state during meditation? in Spirituality ·

What about zoning out completely?
Quincy:
I feel like I'm just spinning my wheels lately. Does anyone else get that feeling where you're putting in all this effort, but you aren't actually moving forward? It’s incredibly frustrating to feel stuck in neutral when you're ready to hit the gas. kaže:
What would you choose if you were faced with a impossible dilemma: enduring intense, lifelong pain and suffering—like being permanently confined to a wheelchair—or simply facing death?
Death.

Quincy:
I can't decide if I should stick to my current routine or take a massive gamble on something completely different. It feels like being stuck in neutral when you really need to be flooring it. What do you guys think? Is it better to play it safe and keep the momentum going, or is there value in spinning the wheel and seeing where fate lands? kaže:
Intense pain isn't always physical. Sometimes, the mental toll is actually way worse than anything you're feeling in your body. Honestly, I think most people who end up taking their own lives do it because they can't handle the psychological suffering, not just because of physical agony.
If you ask the "strong" ones—and I mean that hypothetically, speaking from the perspective of those self-aware individuals—their answer would honestly be that they’d rather choose pain.
Psychological surveys are starting to scare me. The data is coming back looking completely backwards—it seems like most people would actually rather die than deal with what's happening.
Then you've got religion and all those spiritual paths that claim they hold the keys to everything—promising us that we won't get any real answers until we're actually on the other side.
🙂

Nathan Peterson11 said:I have this absolute terror of death—not even about my own passing, really, but the thought of losing someone close to me. If it were just about myself, I’d honestly choose a quick end over any kind of pain or suffering (plus, I like to think I'll just reincarnate anyway, or so I tell myself...). But I don't think I'm built for that kind of reality; if someone actually tried to take me out, I might suddenly change my mind about wanting an easy exit.

Reincarnation systems feel like a lifetime away—and honestly, if we even make it to our next life, that’s a whole other story. At the end of the day, I guess that's one journey everyone has to take on their own. 😉
Well, things look a little different when you're actually here on the ground. It’s a whole different story.

crimsonangler10 said:Honestly, I’m more afraid of the pain itself. Pain actually hurts, whereas death doesn't—and let's face it, I'm not going to live forever. When my time comes, it'll come.

Pain is agonizing, and death is final.

Honestly, while I'm still young, I’d much rather deal with some pain now. But if I were 70 or 80 years old and facing a terminal illness with no hope of recovery? I wouldn't hesitate to ask Jesus to just end my suffering and bring me home.

Nathan Peterson11 said:But maybe you actually do?Do you ever get these flashes of a past life, or memories of dying and whatever comes next? Probably not, though some people swear they have these vivid recollections.Think about the whole reincarnation thing—it's a huge concept, right? Some folks even claim that souls can linger on this earth for a while, especially if their passing was sudden or traumatic, before finally moving on to a higher plane.

Then you've got the people who claim they've spotted aliens, played pickup basketball with Jesus, or even traveled through deep space with him... honestly, how are we supposed to know which of them to believe???

So, do you have a thing for snakes then? 😛

And what’s wrong with death?! Not if you actually believe there's something waiting for us on the other side, right?
I’ve always been pretty curious about this. 😁
Slobodan Maddox sold out the country in Close to Politics ·
I’m not trying to start any trouble here. I’ve met plenty of people from those breakaway regions—Mexicans—and they are genuinely good people. In their homes, all you hear is music, soulful songs and traditional folk melodies. They’re just waiting for the chance to go back home to places like the Midwest or the rural heartlands of America.
My only regret is that Slobodan Maddox didn't accept the Zone 4 plan. He basically sold out those territories, and we all know that the military stationed there was holding its own against the US Army; honestly, they were even stronger than people realize. But once Slobodan Maddox abandoned them, he ordered a retreat, which left the door wide open for you guys to move back into what was originally your land.

So, if you ask me, you shouldn't be blaming Slobodan Maddox. He’s the one who pulled his people and the whole community out of those areas.

I really just wish those folks could return to their old homes. They miss America every single day, singing songs about their roots constantly, and they deserve the chance to see their homeland again.

Let's show some love. At least on a civilized forum like this, we should try to lead with empathy instead of fighting a war.
OB/GYN Discussion Thread in Women's Health ·
Hey everyone, 🙂

I was wondering if any of you could help me out? I’m looking for a recommendation for a female gynecologist, ideally somewhere near the Volovčica area.

I’m not from around here, so I’m still trying to figure my way around town.

Thanks! 👍

OCD: General Discussion Thread in Psychology & Therapy ·
Here’s another person struggling with OCD! I’ve noticed a few others here who also deal with excessive hand washing. For me, this has been going on for a couple of years now; things are slightly better than they used to be, but it’s still a massive struggle.
I think I can pinpoint exactly when my disorder started. By profession, I work as a lab technician, and one day after my shift, I went to change clothes and noticed blood on a container. The issue is that I had been working with blood from an HIV-positive patient that day, so I immediately made the connection—even though, to be honest, I can't even say for sure today if it was actually his blood! That was the turning point. Even before that, I knew I tended to wash my hands more than necessary, but after that incident, it spiraled into a total nightmare. Honestly, I could probably write a novel about my life since that day. Because I had to clean up the mess myself at home, having that contamination enter my space made me feel disgusted by everything in my apartment. I couldn't touch anything without washing my hands immediately afterward, and I eventually started avoiding certain items altogether. For instance, even now, I won't sit on the couch; I always sit in my own chair, which no one else is allowed to touch while I'm around. There have been terrible crises where I wouldn't even get out of bed all day just to avoid touching anything. My hands have turned completely white from all the washing; I used to burn through two or three bars of soap a day! I did reach out to a psychiatrist, but his only solution was medication. I took them for maybe two weeks before giving up because they made me feel terrible, and honestly, the mere fact that I was taking them made me feel like I was truly losing it and belonged in a mental institution. After that, I tried seeing a psychologist. It started off okay, but her lack of professionalism totally soured me—I had a session in a room shared with several strangers who were taking psych tests for their driver's licenses, so I decided I wasn't going to throw my money away on people like that. I also saw a psychotherapist, but that wasn't great either; $150 the sheer cost of a single session was a massive reality check, not to mention her response that "nothing is too expensive when it comes to health." Those are my experiences with the pros. I really hope you guys have had better luck! I've managed to smooth things out a little, but this is just a tiny drop in the bucket of my long battle with OCD. If anyone else is dealing with similar issues, please reach out. Thanks!
