Wait, who even brought up "American" movies in the first place? 😕

I don't know how that's "common knowledge" to you,😕
if you're just picking it up from movies.
If it's from some Hollywood flick, then sure, maybe,
but I definitely don't take stuff like that from the movies as gospel truth.

Look, how was I supposed to know—unless you heard it from an ex-friend who dealt Narcotike—that heroin gets cut with all kinds of junk just to stretch it out? It’s all about padding the supply so they can make more money on every hit. Every dealer out there is stuffing their product with random crap just to boost their profit margins!

I actually know Willard personally, which is why I’m saying it doesn't look like that 😁
it looks way worse😁

It's common knowledge that heroin comes in different purity levels—high grade versus low grade. It’s basically the same deal with pretty much any other drug out there.
I honestly have no clue if anyone actually uses 100% pure stuff, or even what specific microgram amount would be enough to kill you instantly.

Seriously, hello? I know how this works, and I haven't even touched heroin.

Actually, it's all 5, but you've got your facts mixed up.

Sounds like you're speaking from experience here.😕 😁
When I'm sleeping... in Philosophy ·
Relativity suggests:
Where does consciousness go—mine, or someone else's?

It doesn't just vanish; it simply shifts away from our waking state. It’s stripped of that constant oversight we maintain while we're wide awake.

I keep trying to grasp the concept of what actually happens when we drift off; what becomes of our conscious existence... and I think someone in this thread already mentioned how that existence exists outside of time and space, which is an explanation I really dig.

Personally, I imagine us as being made of time itself—just a brief disturbance in its dream. To channel a bit of > here: my space *is* time. Just before I reach out to grab my own theory, I think it should look something like this: when I sleep, I exist in a timeless state. My space, in those moments, is timelessness. (Honestly, I can't decide if I should chase that thought or just let it sit.)

Consciousness is basically playing with itself, and there isn't anyone around to call the shots... Just think about it; you're simultaneously the audience, the actors on screen, the film itself, and the projector... plus, you've got an endless supply of popcorn! 🙂

Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
If you’re going through Medicare, you’ll need a referral from your primary care doctor before heading over to the Mayo Clinic. It’s definitely the more budget-friendly route, and the coverage lasts longer...

Alternatively, you could go private. Honestly, I had a pretty rough experience at Saint Lucy; they gave me a completely wrong diagnosis, and then the same thing happened to my husband. Ever since then, we’ve been seeing Dr. Butorac at Medica. He is absolutely top-tier. You can get an appointment for about $67, just give them a call, book your slot, and you're all set.

Good luck!

It’s not just that he leaves listeners speechless; people online are saying the audience is just as stunned... apparently, his stage presence is all over the place, too. He's certainly a versatile character, I'll give him that...

True, but all this talk about someone else's enlightenment experience is basically just blind people trying to describe what light looks like. Honestly, if you haven't personally experienced what Buddha did—or what Bernadette Roberts thinks she’s experienced in this thread—then what is there to actually say? Most of it feels like people just stroking their own egos rather than getting anywhere meaningful. I'm not looking to start a huge debate, just felt like putting that out there.

What would be your main reasons for thinking the US should join the European Union, or should we stay out and follow the lead of countries like Norway or Switzerland?

*I’m specifically talking about economic factors (for example, could our agricultural sector actually survive in the EU market?)

Underrated Albums - Top List in Music ·
Hey everyone, let’s put together a list of 10 albums that are, in my opinion, totally overrated. Just a heads up—please don't even bother mentioning stuff like Bruce Springsteen or Mariah Carey; they're only worshipped by people who live for the Billboard charts...

1. Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Bollocks... Look, this might be an incredibly influential record, and without it, half these bands wouldn't even exist, but it's honestly a tough listen. Don't get me wrong, I think the Ramones and Buzzcocks are among the absolute best ever, but this lot just gives punk a bad name...

2. David Bowie - The Man Who Sold the World - Seriously, what the hell? What a disaster! Aside from the title track, which is basically bait to get you to buy the album, the rest is just pure noise. The only thing notable about it is how it shows Bowie constantly reinventing himself—whether he's playing rock, ambient, or heavy metal, the guy is never boring...

3. Elvis Costello - Armed Forces - This is an album that gives me an instant headache. Those melodies, that voice, that production... it's just not my cup of tea...

4. Dream Theater - Awake - Okay, we all have that list of albums we used to listen to and now feel embarrassed about. I haven't spent much time with this genre, maybe 4 or 5 DT albums at most, and even that feels like too many. I used to be into The Cranberries, too, but listening to Dolores O'Riordan today still feels jarring when she sings so naively about Boston... plus, it's not prog metal

5. Eurythmics - Be Yourself Tonight - I never really clicked with Eurythmics, though I liked them better early on when they were doing that electro-pop vibe and Annie Lennox looked like Daryl Hannah from Blade Runner. But once Eurythmics tried to blend "rock" and "soul," and when Lennox and Aretha Franklin teamed up for that soul ballad "Sisters Gonna Do It Together"... well, they ended up being worse than the Spice Girls.

6. Jane's Addiction - De Lo Habitual - I actually tried, I really did. Jane's Addiction sucks. And don't even get me started on the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Enough said.

7. R.E.M. - Document - I'm a pretty big fan of R.E.M., but Document is just a collection of confusing, tuneless, irritating, and pathetic little songs. Neither "The One I Love" nor "It's the End of the World..." saved it. Honestly, I trashed this CD thinking I'd never need it again...

8. Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast - Honestly, if nothing else, the cover art is a nightmare. I mean, Eddie is iconic and the concept is brilliant, but the music is terrible. I barely lasted ten seconds when a friend played this "classic" for me... The whole thing is just about the packaging!

9. Moby - Play - This isn't as awful as some of the others on this list, but it's not great either. It's definitely not good enough to crack the top 20 albums of the nineties, and it's certainly not worth my 3.7 miles. Ah, Moby... the guy recorded two good songs. There are twenty-two on the album Play.

10. Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head - Okay, look, this isn't a bad album—Rolling Stone even called it album of the year—but what's the catch? For me, I couldn't shake the feeling that U2 had already played all these songs years ago. It made Coldplay seem like the ultimate copycats. Maybe I'm wrong, or maybe they really are. Either way, that's why they're here...

Alright, your turn...
