True, Silva is an incredible team player, though he might not be able to carry a squad all by himself. Personally, I value that. I don't think "greatness" only belongs to the guys who try to do everything themselves and act like alphas; there's huge merit in players who integrate seamlessly and execute their specific roles perfectly. That's the kind of player I appreciate.

That said, if Fernandes keeps playing at this level and proves he can translate it to the big stage, he'll be my pick over Silva. Until then...

Plus, you have to consider versatility; Silva can slot in as a winger, a second striker, or a midfielder, while Fernandes is pretty much strictly a number ten.

The movie isn't half bad. Mankiewicz is an entertaining character, and Oldman does a pretty solid job. The black-and-white cinematography actually makes sense, given that the whole thing is anchored in that mythical era of old-school Hollywood. But am I going to be thinking about this film a week from now? Probably not. I suppose Mankiewicz was trying to paint a picture of how the studio system drifted away from those free-spirited creatives toward big business and high-stakes politics—showing how art eventually became a tool for political campaigns and how a legendary screenwriter could end up as a social outcast. But elevating the story to that level felt thin and, frankly, unsuccessful. On one hand, you have these Hollywood moguls who feel underdeveloped and caricatured, and on the other, Mankiewicz himself lacks any real tragic depth. The guy was just a sarcastic smoker before Kane, during the writing of Kane, and after Kane; nothing really changed. In the end, the movie just boils down to two hours of Gary Oldman tossing out cynical quips, drinking, and successfully writing. Sure, it’s an entertaining two hours, but there was so much more potential here.

The dynamic with Welles could have been much more interesting and fleshed out, but I suspect they cut that part short because they couldn't find a decent actor to play Welles. Tom Burke looks the part, but he doesn't have an ounce of that charisma.

Just thought I'd brighten up restlesssurfer97's day by digging into how Vietnam handled the pandemic. It's a relatively modest nation right next to China, yet they managed to clock zero deaths. Pretty wild, right?

The country started developing tests almost immediately after IT confirmed in January that Three People traveling Back fra Wuhan

Vietnam followed a pretty logical testing roadmap: they started by screening travelers, then pivoted to testing their close contacts, and eventually expanded to anyone showing symptoms similar to COVID.

They really leaned into mass testing. To put things in perspective, they ran 966 tests for every single confirmed case. Compare that to Taiwan at 149 or New Zealand at 132. Meanwhile, over here in the USA, we're sitting at 6, and the UK is at 5. We aren't even playing the same game.

Then there's this:

Those found to be sick, whether at the airport or elsewhere, were placed in quarantine facilities for 14 days, free of charge. Self-isolation at home isn’t permitted in Vietnam, as the government worries those with the disease might give it to their family members.

And finally:

It also helps that the public has received and accepted what health officials tell them, as many abide by the government’s guidelines like social distancing and mask wearing. That only makes the country’s broader response easier.

The bottom line? 288 confirmed cases, 233 recoveries, and zero deaths. They've even got schools reopening and the economy starting to stir again.
