My daughter isn't exactly used to this kind of cinema, but she came away from it absolutely glowing. She actually asked me, "That was amazing, why don't they make more movies like this? How am I supposed to go back to the stuff I usually watch now?"

By the way, where did Nineveh disappear to? 🙂Michelle Howard2, tell her to drop by sometime so I’m not the only kid left on this forum.

Alex Martinez4, don't get me started. I actually loved "Supernatural," but I can't shake this feeling that he just took those tracks, tweaked the tempo slightly, and shifted a few notes around. It all feels like one big case of déjà vu. Even the lyrics—it’s just endless, almost naive songs about love everywhere you look (and yeah, I'm talking specifically about "Supernatural" and that track by M. Branch; I honestly couldn't stomach listening to the others more than twice). Anyway, I'm going to give it another spin tomorrow and then I'll send over my full report.

Well, I guess it’s all fun and games until the girl next door decides to mess with your signal... hehe...

Man, that was cold 😲 😁

Alex Martinez4 said:Everyone keeps repeating that like some broken record... can you actually explain what you mean by saying his songs all follow the same formula? I'm genuinely curious...

Look at it this way—during those first few listens, you probably won't even be able to tell the tracks apart anyway.

I’ve never really been able to get into Shaman; it feels like he just couldn't let go of the Supernatural era, and now every single track follows that exact same formula.😢

Aside from Amelia, obviously, 😁 what really stuck with me was the opening—you know, that moment at 18:28:42 when a fly, buzzing away at some ridiculous 14,200 wingbeats per minute, just lands right there on the street. I also loved how the characters were fleshed out; those little trivial, endearing quirks, like how they’d rather peel wallpaper than deal with any sort of flowery language like "fruit of the womb." And the script? Absolutely brilliant. Especially that bit where she’s adding sugar to the liqueur, swapping out the door handle, and winding her watch at 4:00 😁 .

I haven't seen a thread on this movie yet, so I hope the moderators won't mind me starting one. Has anyone else actually sat through this? Before it started, I honestly assumed it would just be some pretentious, overblown piece of art from a Frenchman, and I only went in because I didn't have anything better to do with my evening. But man, was I wrong. It’s an absolute masterpiece. Honestly, my life feels a little bit brighter now just knowing that I finally stumbled upon the perfect film 👍
Steven Ruiz said:Honestly, this might be the most important thread we've ever had. Just look at how much ground we've covered—we've practically written an entire encyclopedia on all the essential classics!
The moderator should be proud of what we've built here. 😁

True, but we really ought to file some copyright paperwork on this thing before the moderator accidentally publishes a book and takes all the credit. Can you imagine the fallout? Millions of people would think he’s some sort of unseen genius, and we'd all be forced to bow down to him. 🙏
PBE, I guess he’s heard about your shady little agency before 😛

Taylor Cruz7, why on earth are you spamming this important thread with your nonsense?! Moderator!!
Steven Ruiz said:Just some hillbilly who doesn't know the first thing about movies.
Do you think they’re going to scrub any posts where we mention the agency?

Most likely. They'll probably decide our chatter is just noise and wipe us out, while leaving up everything from that guy with the massive username who spends all day rambling about basic-ass movies meant for five-year-olds.
Steven Ruiz said:Exactly, not a single word. And as for everything we already spilled to him... well... let's just say we'll cast a spell to make sure he forgets the whole thing.

We can definitely pull that off, considering we're part of the agency ourselves, right?

As for these posts mentioning the agency, I'll just tell the moderator to scrub them... though, wait, who even is the moderator around here?
Steven Ruiz said:Exactly. Honestly, you’d have to be lacking a bit of common sense to not love The Karate Kid. Maybe we just shouldn't mention the agency to him.

Spot on. Even if he comes crawling to us on his knees, begging like a toddler, we aren't telling him a single thing about the agency.
Steven Ruiz, are you seriously going to tell him about the agency? His poor, unprepared little brain might actually explode from trying to process all those deep-seated secrets and complex conspiracies surrounding our firm!

And as for reputation, Mickey, you can pick up a decent one at a flea market for $1.75. See, that's where they sell off the reputations of people who don't show any respect for The Karate Kid 😛 😁

I’m planning on catching... well, among the other movies on my watchlist 🙄 Why does it feel like they have to drop all these absolute bangers at the exact same time???
driftingowl27 said:Steven Ruiz, how much are they paying you for this?😕 😁

Paying me? I think not. The only thing I get paid for is stopping people from launching baseless attacks against The Karate Kid—which, let's be honest, is actually an underrated masterpiece that only true cinephiles can actually appreciate.😛
It takes about an hour and a half to sit through most of LOTR. 🙂That’s roughly the same amount of time it takes to actually read a username like Mikilegendocarekupinamcigareyorkov. Or maybe it's the time you spend dwelling on the final episode of Twin Peaks before realizing you didn't understand a single thing that happened. An hour and a half isn't exactly a short amount of time, is it?
Steven Ruiz said:You guys got it a little mixed up... I don't actually like Mortal Kombat, though I do love Bruce Lee.
Anyway, why does nobody care that I was evacuated from the theater???? How am I supposed to know what happened next?

What do you mean you don't like Mortal Kombat? When I was a kid, I used to count down the days until I saved up enough $3.25 just so I could run down to the local arcade and play Mortal Kombat 3!

What happened next? Well, go to the cinema and watch 😛
Seriously, who’s out here hating on The Karate Kid and my girl Steven Ruiz? The Karate Kid absolutely crushes it. Honestly, cheers to all those low-budget martial arts flicks! Long live the sequels to Enter the Dragon and Mortal Kombat! Long live Christina Aguilera! And let’s hear it for Bruce Lee! Plus, shoutout to my brother-in-law's weird alt-prog rock!

P.S. I actually caught three moderators chatting in the lounge—just thought I'd give the rest of you users a little heads-up...

And now, a fourth unsigned one joins the fray 😉

In my opinion, the ending feels a little rushed. Honestly, I wouldn't have minded if it dragged on for another three hours. 🙂

Seriously though, toward the end, it felt like they were intentionally rushing through the plot just so they could wrap things up and get out of there.

Yeah, I definitely remember that one thing we both have in common 🙂

especially regarding details—I honestly couldn't make heads or tails of a Snape's potion ingredients in any language. 😁

Honestly, it’s like one of those weird wellness shots you see online—just toss in some green herbs, a squeeze of lemon, maybe some crushed copper... 😉
