Complaint against moderator Deedy on MK in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Look, you brought up moderation issues in a space where that's just not allowed, so you got hit with cards—short and sweet.
If you actually want to file a formal complaint about something, you should be using the PŽK system for stuff like this, which is basically what you did by starting this thread. Trying to go hunting through PDFs or old threads just to call out a moderator? That’s not going to fly anywhere on this forum, not even over at MKu, regardless of whether it happened in the chat threads or not.

I took a look back at your posts, and honestly, I could see them as just straight-up trolling, which is why Aaron Harris2 handed out those penalties, or I could view them as breaking the specific rules of this sub-forum. Either way, you're breaking the rules. It’s ultimately up to the moderator to decide how many cards to hand out, so as far as I'm concerned, those cards are staying right where they are.

Hey, could we get a quick fix on Charles Brown's name? Also, can we make sure jadetiger37 is capitalized properly? Let me know when it's done, Nice.

Look, you can't actually subscribe to just one single post, I guess... it works by subscribing to the whole damn thread instead. If you head up to the top of the page, there's a bunch of thread tools sitting there, and you just gotta click 'subscribe to this thread' to get what you want. 🙂

Look, Sophie, maybe you should just listen to Eric Fox7 for once and actually go back to the very first post in this thread to read the rules about what you can and can't ask for when it comes to nickname changes.

rustydrifter10 said:Seriously, stop with the double "e." Those intentional "mistakes" are just plain tacky and unnecessary. 😢

Look, Nico, I guess we were pretty much done making deals anyway😬 😁
But honestly, I'm with you, those double 'e's are just pointless. 😁

Depeche, maybe just go with an initial, like I said, maybe Depeche E. or something like that. 😁
(though even that doesn't exactly scream "creative genius" if I'm being real 🤣 😬 )

northernpilot2, thanks for the suggestion... image

Eee, do you think we could maybe try it this way...? image So, we already established that there’s already a Depeche on here, and since the forum doesn't distinguish between capital letters, I can't just go by "Depeche" with a capital D. It got me wondering... would it actually work if I shortened my handle to something like uuuuuuuuuu...

Is it Deepeche or deepeche?... 😬 Well, looks like there’s an extra "e" in there... 🙂

If this doesn't work out, I'm leaning toward one of these other options... 😍

driftingbear29... or maybe just Depeche... image I think I actually prefer it when everything is written in lowercase...

It's just two 'e's, but the forum actually recognizes that difference. 🙂 So, I guess I could go with Deepeche or deepeche 🙂

I don't even know where to start with this one, honestly... I mean, I guess I should probably just dive right in, but there's so much noise lately that it’s hard to tell what’s actually worth talking about, you know? It feels like everything is just a constant stream of nonsense, and sometimes I wonder if anyone is even paying attention to the actual substance of things anymore. Maybe I'm just being cynical, or maybe I've just been staring at my screen for too many hours, but it definitely feels like we're all just circling the drain of some massive, collective misunderantstanding. Anyway, I was thinking about how much stuff changes depending on who you ask, which is kind of wild when you really stop to think about it. You have people shouting one thing on Reddit and then something completely different happening in real life, and I guess it just makes you question the whole reality of the situation. It's messy, it's loud, and frankly, it's exhausting. But hey, that's just my two cents, I suppose. kaže:
What kind of practice even is that? I mean, seriously, just handing over your personal info like it's going out of style? It feels pretty sketchy to me, I guess.🤔

No, what I was getting at was that part about how the sign-ups were just registered users—so, like, if they turned out to be nothing but spam, they’d just end up getting nuked in the end anyway.

I mean, I could honestly go on and on about this whole thing for hours, just rambling forever, but at the end of the day, the rule is right there in black and white. You can’t really dive into a deep, meaningful debate about stuff like this when it’s all still so new; you need actual time to let things breathe and get some real-world experience under your belt before you can even start talking about it seriously, I guess. Maybe we just need to wait and see how it plays out first.

This is Reddit for... technical Look, I feel like those questions you’re throwing out there—and honestly, the whole reason you even started this discussion in the first place—just don't really fit in this specific corner of the site. It feels a bit off-topic here, I guess. This kind of stuff is probably better suited for the PZK subreddit or something similar, you know? I mean, I guess this is just... how we're doing things now? It feels like everything is shifting, maybe even more than people realize, but honestly, I don't know if anyone is actually paying attention to the way things are moving lately. It’s all kind of messy, I suppose. Honestly, I feel like Nica pretty much nailed it with that one; she basically said "less is more," which is exactly what this whole thread needed.

So, I guess that's it then. I'm just gonna close this out.

Chloe Thompson9 said:To me, that cream honestly smells like horse manure, even if the manufacturer claims it’s like a mountain breeze.🤷
And it actually makes me nauseous (even if it doesn't bother everyone else).
Can I even write that, or am I not allowed?

Of course you can. Honestly, Reddit has always handled these kinds of 'anonymous' users this way; they just finally turned it into an official rule.

It’s nothing new, and it’s definitely not some thing designed to strip away your right to speak up or say when something sucks.
If someone or something is garbage, it's perfectly fine to say so and explain why, pretty much just like it's always been. 🙂

Reddit is essentially an anonymous platform, sure, but small businesses and actual companies aren't anonymous. Unfortunately, we live in a world where there are all sorts of people who, out of pure spite, decide to trash-talk or smear anyone—especially their competition.

And no, the total number of posts a user has made doesn't really matter that much, because your identity here is about more than just a count. It’s about your activity, how long you’ve been around, and the actual credibility you’ve built up by being part of the community.

To put it simply, if someone signs up today and starts trashing a specific product or a local business by next week, it's only natural that those posts get scrutinized, along with the person behind them. Since that person is totally anonymous, we have to verify what they're saying, because those negative reviews—which might not even be true—can cause serious damage to the non-anonymous company being mentioned.
We aren't calling the person a liar; maybe they really did sign up just to share their honest opinion, but if they want those posts to stay on the site, the admins need to be able to verify the person behind the screen with their actual name. That's the deal if you want your comments to stick.

But again, this isn't anything groundbreaking. Posts from brand-new users looking to drag things were always getting wiped because their motive was obvious. The only difference now is that these posts might actually be allowed to stay on the thread, provided someone is willing to stand behind their words with their real identity instead of just a username.
Did the Reddit thread layout just shift left!? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Nah, I can't really deal with it stretched out across the whole screen, it's just way easier for me to have everything aligned to the left like this 😁

So, it was actually Alexandra, right? She put in for that first change over in Austin, and I went ahead and gave it the green light. But then, I don't know, maybe she didn't even realize I'd already approved it, because she ended up requesting it again in either Austin or Denver—I guess—just so she could point back to that initial approved tweak, and that's how we finally ended up with the Austin version. 😁

Xclena. Thanks so much.

You can pick from Xceena, Xcena, or Xclena—just make a final decision and let Nice know.

I don't think I quite caught your drift there. So, in that situation you brought up with Son, you mean that nickname actually becomes available for anyone to grab?

I guess I was thinking when you said 'renounce,' maybe you meant those people who just vanish completely—you know, they log off for good and decide they aren't ever touching that specific handle again, maybe even picking up a totally different one instead. I suppose those kinds of cases happen too.

If you decide to swap your username from Peter to Peter, then I guess the name Peter would actually become available for someone else to register.
Nickname change (read first post!) in Forum Help! ·
If someone decides to ditch their handle, it doesn't just vanish—the nickname stays attached to the account on Reddit, along with every single one of those old posts they left behind. 🙂 I guess that means, in practice, the name is still basically taken.
Just shoot me an inbox message letting me know what kind of signature you’re looking for, and I’ll get it all cleaned up for you. 🙂
