Just so you guys know, on certain PDFs, the posts don't actually get counted toward a user's total post count on the forum where they're writing.
Nice, where are you taking this forum? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Honestly, you don't even have to dig deep; just scrolling through your posts on this thread makes the conclusion pretty damn obvious.
And look, if anyone here is throwing accusations around without any actual reason, I’d say that’s mostly on you—starting with Nica and just rolling from there—regardless of how much it feels like this whole 'complaint' or whatever is just total nonsense, basically a one-track mind that nobody else is buying, yet you just keep doubling down on it.

graniteharbor502 said:What a load of nonsense! You’re basically claiming the mods aren't being objective just because they aren't voting exactly how you want them to. Look, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and that goes for the moderators too. What you're pushing here is just narrow-mindedness. The whole debate over same-sex marriage is incredibly complex, so you can't just label someone as "unbiased" just because they don't agree with an initiative that feels pretty homophobic to them.

Exactly this.

It’s pretty obvious the OP is just salty about the poll results and can't handle them, so now they're trying to force their own views onto everyone else, acting like most people on this forum should just fall in line with them.
On top of that, they start dragging in stats from other major news sites and claiming those aren't relevant either? I mean, I guess it seems like the only person having a meltdown over percentages and polling data is you, yet somehow you're lumping all the other users in with you.
I'm not entirely sure, but I'm thinking posts on the Politics PDF don't actually count toward the total. Maybe I've got that wrong, though; I guess I should probably check in with the Politics moderators to be certain.
So, just a heads-up, posts on certain sub-forums don't actually count toward your total. Like, if you're hanging out in the Offtopic section or those similar areas, they aren't included in the tally. I guess it also works like this: if a thread you participated in gets deleted, your overall post count is gonna drop down too.

One time they just hit me up and asked if the box was still factory-sealed or if someone had already messed with it. Since you aren't supposed to be opening them at all, they wanted to take a look if it wasn't pristine. 😁
How to increase DM limits in Feedback & Suggestions ·
graniteridge6 said:Is there some kind of technical reason why it wouldn't increase significantly, assuming it increases at all?
I'm not really an expert on this stuff, so I honestly don't know.

I mean, besides taking up more space on the server, I don't think there’s much else to it, I guess. Though even that probably isn't going to be some massive deal, but since this is such a huge forum with a ton of members, bumping things up to 200 seems totally fine to me. It's basically just doubling it, right?🙂

Yeah, I’m pretty much on board with this too.
I mean, honestly, if you guys end up hitting like 200 messages, I think that’s totally fine, just don't go absolutely overboard or anything. 🙂
Old chat won't load in Forum Help! ·
Look, any thread that starts ballooning toward 10,000 posts gets nuked, and the same goes for anything that just sits there dead for a month. Since we’re basically running this like an Offtopic PDF, that's just how things have always been done around here.
Regarding that gay chat you're bringing up, though—that specific one was taken down because people kept flagging sketchy images, and honestly, Google ended up pulling our ad banners because of it. So, yeah, those kinds of chats tend to get deleted for those reasons too, and they aren't coming back.
Banned from the ban corner + bonus question in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I mean, you probably already got kicked out of the ban corner without even realizing it, which I guess is why you haven't been able to post in that section of the forum. If there's still some leftover drama or an unresolved issue with a specific moderator, you could always just shoot them a DM and see what's up.
Banned from the ban corner + bonus question in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Of course you can't get in there, man, because your ban actually expired. Only the admins and people who are currently banned are allowed to post in the ban corner, and since you aren't officially banned anymore, you're basically locked out.
It wasn't even just that one specific post that got you, I guess; it was more about how all those little infractions started piling up over time, you know? Like, it was the total sum of your points and all those warnings hitting a certain threshold.
Banned from the ban corner + bonus question in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Where exactly are you banned from? From what I can tell, you aren't actually banned since you're right here typing away—if you were really banned, you wouldn't be able to post at all. You just got hit with warnings over in the ban corner because you were being abusive. 🤷
On top of those warnings, the admin was the one who handed them out, so there isn't really anyone to complain to since her call is final, even if the warnings were totally justified.

As for any future gripes, sure, you can always appeal warnings or bans issued by the mods if you honestly feel like you've been treated unfairly.
Banned from the ban corner + bonus question in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Look, there’s zero tolerance for insults anywhere on this site, and that includes the ban corner. If you're already trying to appeal a ban, throwing more insults around isn't the way to go—it's just gonna land you in even more trouble, I guess.
If you decide to break the rules, it's basically up to the moderator to decide if they want to give you a heads-up via DM or a yellow card first, or if they're just gonna skip straight to the red card for the violation.
As a user here, it's really on you to actually read through the rules before you start posting anything anywhere, especially since most of those PDFs tucked in with the general guidelines have their own specific extra rules too.
That’s just how it’s always been, I guess. But if we're talking about those chat threads, they eventually get wiped out, and when they do, it basically drags down the total post count too.

Nicholas King said:I mean, I never really doubted that the answer was legit or anything—but since it feels like absolutely nothing ever changes with the admins around here, I can't help but wonder why one of the admin nicknames is just straight-up black. 😕

Wait, where on earth are you getting the idea that some admin has a black username? That just doesn't fly. In this system, admins have purple names, period. If you see someone rocking a black username, then they're just a moderator, not an admin. I guess people just get things mixed up sometimes, but yeah, that's how it works.

Rebecca Miller4 said:I mean, honestly, we’ve reached that point where it just can't happen again, right? Like, seriously, looking at how things have gone lately, you'd think we'd all collectively agreed that enough is enough. I guess I’m just sitting here thinking about it, maybe being a bit too cynical, but it feels like we've hit the absolute limit of what's reasonable. It's one of those things where you look around and wonder if anyone else sees the same wall we've all slammed into. Maybe I'm overthinking it, or maybe I'm just being blunt, but it really feels like we've crossed a line that shouldn't be crossed twice. It just can't happen again, don't you think? 😲 I don't know, I guess I just don't really care to stay in this whole situation... maybe it's just me, but honestly, I'm kind of over it.

I mean, look, there’s always that chance, right? I guess you can't really point fingers and say for certain that something like this won't actually go down. We're all just sitting here, collectively crossing our fingers and hoping to God it doesn't happen. 🙂
Well, I mean, she gave an answer, didn't she? So, whatever. Nothing much is actually happening anyway.
And what’s even the deal with everyone whining about the colors? I mean, honestly, it’s pretty simple—it’s just so you can tell which group people belong to at a glance, right? Like, which specific shade represents which faction seems like the least important part of the whole thing, if you ask me. 🙂

Nicholas King said:I mean, does anyone actually know what they're talking about when they mention the "functioning of the forum" in this thread? Like, is there some actual explanation somewhere that clarifies which specific parts of how this place runs are being targeted here, or are we all just kind of guessing? I guess it’s hard to tell without some kind of breakdown, maybe.

So, I've got this question about how things actually work around here on the forum, and honestly, I’m trying to be careful because I really don't want to get chewed out by the mods for supposedly going off-topic or whatever...

I guess this is more like a general catch-all thread for any random questions you might have about how this whole forum actually works. You know, stuff like who's pulling the strings behind the scenes as the owner, or what that specific image in the logo is even supposed to represent and all that jazz. Just throw whatever you're wondering about in here.
Look, you’ve been hanging around this forum for a long time now, so I’m pretty sure you already have most of that data burned into your brain, which makes me wonder where you're even going with this question, I guess.
Linda Price5 said:The server basically went down and ate a bunch of people, so I'm guessing those n/a entries from back then are just casualties of that crash. 😁

Yeah, I mean, that could totally be part of it too. Maybe they were migrating servers or doing some kind of backend overhaul or whatever, and certain profiles just got wiped out or dropped from the database entirely. 🙂
Morgan Walker2 said:So, since you can't actually delete a profile anymore, I was wondering what it means when some users (you can spot them if you dig through the old threads) have their usernames in tiny font with "n/a" sitting right underneath. I mean, I get that "n/a" usually stands for "not available" or "not applicable," but what's the deal here specifically?

That profile was deleted, but they don't really do that on request from the user anymore. Maybe they used to back in the day, I guess, but there’s probably just some specific reason why it was wiped.
