Eris, you can't sign up because someone else already snatched up that handle, even though they actually changed their nickname just today.
Like, look at me—I used to be De Beers but I went ahead and switched my name to BlackRock, yet you'd still find yourself blocked from grabbing De Beers even if it looks totally available now.

Since I'm already here, I just have to say: those partial bans on this subforum are easily the worst thing to ever happen to this place. It’s like painting a giant target right over people's avatars—it's pretty easy to guess how that ends and who gets screwed in the process.
Those users were just venting their frustrations because they couldn't post here, so they took it to other subforums. Now we've ended up with this whole group of disgruntled forum members, and honestly, it's hard not to feel for them.
I am glad the forum leadership finally stepped up to help out at least a handful of people.
Nah, you didn't imagine it, I saw that too, but seriously, why the hell was that notice pulled down so fast? It honestly makes this whole thing look pretty unprofessional.🤷
What the hell is actually going on here? Like, seriously, every other click I make is just hitting me with a 504/504 error, and honestly, it’s getting pretty much unbearable.😠
Honestly, I don't think that's a great call at all. If you do that, you're basically letting a tiny handful of trolls and spammers run the show, and they'll end up shutting out regular people who just want to sign up and start a thread about something bothering them. I mean, if you actually went through with it, you'd basically be turning perfectly normal users into spammers by default, since they'd have to grind out like 100 posts just to get permission to talk about what's actually on their minds.
As for the messages themselves, I guess maybe that could work if there was some kind of limit put in place.
I mean, honestly, I feel like this whole thing could’ve been wrapped up right here if Tyler Grant76 had just given a straight answer about who that user was, you know? Like, she was the one who jumped into the thread in the first place, so it's a pretty fair question to ask her.

The thing is, there isn't actually a master list anywhere for all the partial bans. So, who exactly got overlooked, Tyler Grant76?
Gosh, what a mess, Tyler Grant76. Honestly, instead of dropping all those pointless posts that didn't actually accomplish anything, you really should have just given me the username of the person who was forgotten so we could fix the mistake if there even was one. The way I see it, you basically just turned this whole thread into Tyler Grant76 versus mistywolf17.
