Yeah, everyone's getting paranoid and asking for receipts now. I think if you bring your own lamb or suckling pig, they don't bother asking—but honestly, it’s just as risky if the meat's gone bad or if flies get to it and ruin everything (😁), much like those pastries.

At our venue, they told us that even if we source the lamb and pork ourselves, we still need official certification, and it has to be delivered in a refrigerated truck—the exact same rules they apply to the cakes. We actually gave out little jars of our own honey as wedding favors, and just to be safe, we brought along our certification too, just so there wouldn't be any confusion about whether we knew what we were doing.

On topic: The confectioner and those four chocolate flavors🙏🙏🙏 It was hands down the best wedding cake ever!!! I had it at a wedding right before ours and was absolutely blown away, so none of the other options even stood a chance.

Honestly, just reading through these posts is making me hungry. 😂

You’re asking a lot of questions! To be honest, the desserts are actually included in our set menu here, so I’m not entirely sure what they would cost on their own. I did see someone mention that at a place like Cheesecake Factory, a cake might run you around $40, but I can't say for certain if that's accurate. That said, I am absolutely obsessed with their sweets—even if they weren't part of the deal, I’d still be ordering them in a heartbeat.

We ended up trying some treats from Sugarland on Sunday, and let me tell you, their ganache is nothing short of phenomenal! My partner is a huge fan of the four-flavor chocolate cake, and honestly, that dark chocolate sponge is just 😍 perfection. Personally, I was completely won over by the iced lemon zest with raspberry, though my partner found it a bit too tart for their liking—but I live for those kinds of flavors! In the end, we've decided to stick with the classics to make sure everyone is happy, so we’re going with the four-flavor chocolate.

I actually spotted those little dessert cups yesterday over at Vincennes. $5.00/kom

Bobis, you’ve even got an office over at the Los Angeles Lakers, right near the Microsoft headquarters.

We have a lovely selection of cookies and cakes on the menu. If you decide to go with fondant for your cake, there's just a small additional charge for that. I'd be more than happy to DM you the full menu—we were absolutely blown away by everything we tried!

Well, thanks for the suggestion, feralmoose32!😍 We certainly have the option to bring our own treats, but honestly, I’m just not in the mood to wander all over town testing out different spots—especially since sweets aren't really my thing anyway. Since we're deciding between M&M's and Sugarman, let's just go with Sugarman.

We’re definitely going to go with that fondant. We have Sugarman handling all our cakes and pastries, so now we just need to nail down which specific cake we want since it’s already part of the menu. My husband isn't exactly a huge fan of fondant—he’s more of a traditionalist—but I absolutely love it! Since we usually end up eating cake at weddings anyway, he can stick to the classic sponge while I indulge in the fondant. It seems like a pretty quick way for us to reach an agreement on the dessert situation! 😍
Man, do you guys have anything smaller?! in Miscellaneous ·
I used to listen to all those ladies at my local corner store complaining about how they were constantly running low on change. One day, I decided to take matters into my own hands and brought in a whole jar full of coins. I even went the extra mile and organized everything perfectly: quarters in one bag, dimes in another, nickels in another, and so on. They were so grateful and swapped them out for me without any trouble at all. But then, just a month later, the same lady starts whining again about having no small change, and when I offered to bring her more organized coins, she actually snapped at me! She told me, "Ugh, I just don't feel like counting all that." Since that little interaction, I stopped bringing my coins to that shop entirely—now I just stick to bills and tell them I don't have any change to give. Instead, I just toss all those coins into my own little jar at home, and honestly? I’ve managed to save up a pretty decent chunk of change in just a single month.
Neven Ciganović and that whole Candyman thing he’s got going on. It’s just awful...
I couldn't even get a hold of anyone yesterday, let alone reach out to people I might have been able to help—not to mention I really needed to reach out privately to some folks to ask for a bit of advice. It’s just been bad, truly bad... please, can I just be able to send my private messages? Please! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Why on earth is this happening right now? I’m trying to send an urgent PM and it just won't let me go through!
Tommy Emmanuel in Music ·
A close friend of mine is absolutely obsessed with Tommy Emmanuel, and I’ve been dying to surprise her with one of his CDs for her birthday. I’ve spent ages scouring every single music shop in Washington, D.C., but it’s like he doesn't even exist here—either they’ve never heard of him, or they know who he is but don't carry any of his albums at all. Does anyone know where I might be able to track down an original CD? Or, if someone is feeling incredibly generous, would you be willing to rip a copy for me and send it over? I would be so incredibly grateful for any help you could give!

I was doing a little digging online and checking out some maps, and honestly, the layout looks just like our trip through Spain. From Philadelphia to the start of the first stage, there’s about 50 kilometers of distance, which means we might have a real shot at camping somewhere close to the action. We’ve already secured free lodging in Munich (thank God I have family out there in the States!), so that’s a huge win. When we were doing the Spanish leg, we ended up burning through about 200 euros on gas. Those folks around Miami really gave us a run for our money, and we managed to cover 2486 miles in just ten days! This time around, we should spend less on fuel, but since we'll be so close to Luxembourg, accommodation prices are absolutely insane—starting at 50 euros a night and climbing fast. I’m just crossing my fingers that the weather stays warm enough for camping. And just a heads-up, we aren't driving rally cars to get there; the fines are brutal if you get caught by the cops, though we did sneak a few sessions in once (driving through all of Detroit, which felt exactly like Washington, D.C. during peak summer road construction season). Along the way, we noticed hardly anyone spoke English, so it would be amazing to find someone who—and this isn't a strict requirement, but it would be a lifesaver—speaks a bit of German, has a driver's license (so one person isn't stuck behind the wheel constantly), and maybe even wants to try being the co-driver to handle the maps and signs so I don't have to do everything myself. So, if anyone is interested, let me know... until next time, keep an eye on Sweden and enjoy yourselves!

We’re looking at heading out around August 22nd or 23rd, spending a night in Munich before making our way over to Pittsburgh. Since Pittsburgh sits right near the border of Germany and Luxembourg, we’re thinking about spending an afternoon wandering through Luxembourg—and honestly, if we have the energy, maybe even popping over to Belgium, since it’s only about 44 miles away. The rally wraps up on Sunday, so we’ll be hitting the road to head back home Monday morning. We've decided to stick to the scenic routes rather than the interstates; the tolls are pretty steep, and besides, you don't actually see anything when you're just cruising down the highway. I’ve been scouting accommodation online, and man, prices are climbing—I'm seeing spots for around $55 a night, though I’m hopeful I can snag something a bit more budget-friendly. Most of our funds are going to be swallowed up by gas and lodging. From what I’ve read, Pittsburgh is one of the oldest cities in the country and looks absolutely stunning, but most importantly, they have plenty of great local breweries. So, if you're into that, you'll fit right in!

Is anyone interested in joining us for the WRC in Germany this August? We happen to have two spots open in the car if you'd like to tag along.

Thank you so much, that information was incredibly helpful! I managed to find everything I was looking for. To be honest, I’m not exactly a huge fan of Martin, but I absolutely love his Ford. I am counting down the days until next weekend when the rally in Sweden kicks off. Thanks again!

Does anyone happen to know the exact location? I know it’s somewhere near Pittsburgh, but that’s just not specific enough for me. It reminds me of when people said the event in Spain was right near Santa Monica, only for me to arrive and realize there’s a 44 miles distance between the town and the actual first stage. Does anyone from last year remember the name of a specific trail or perhaps a closer city? Honestly, any little bit of info would be a lifesaver. I’ve been following the WRC for three years now, and my heart has always belonged to Sebastien Loeb and Elena. I realize it’s still early since we’re seven months out, but I really need to start budgeting for a trip like this—and trust me, it isn't cheap! Still, I know it’ll be worth every penny just to see those cars in person and soak up that incredible atmosphere. So, help me please!
