I gotta thank all the big-shot experts out there for letting Lisa Hernandez3 officially confirm what I’ve been rambling about like an amateur for ages. It’s basically one of the main reasons I lean this way. So, I’ve been out here playing digital bounty hunter again. Just hunting trolls. It’s a thankless job, really. Like, who even has the energy? Not me, usually, but sometimes you just see someone being such a massive jerk online that you feel a weird, misplaced sense of duty to call them out. It’s probably a character flaw. Anyway, back to the hunt.Look, if someone starts a thread about something as heavy as sexual assault just because they think it’s some kind of twisted entertainment, there’s zero chance you’re getting an actual, meaningful conversation out of it. It’s a lost cause. Usually, the person behind those posts doesn't actually care about the topic; they just want to keep the thread alive by throwing in more details—which are almost always contradictory or just plain confusing—just to see how much they can drag the discussion out. It's all just a game to them.

Honestly, when someone’s been through something that heavy, they don't exactly have the energy for a debate. They’re either going to be totally revolted, spiraling into more trauma, just drowning in sadness, or—more likely—they’ll just check out entirely. It’s not like they can just jump into an argument like everyone else.

Messages, complaints, whatever. commentsI don't see why there's an issue with just letting a regular forum user drop their two cents on specific situations within a properly laid out Adobe file. Besides, since I'm commenting on stuff across several different Adobe files anyway, any moderation they decide to pull on one wouldn't really change a thing.

And you think you’re actually qualified to decide if someone was assaulted or not? Like, what exactly is your expertise here? Honestly, even a licensed psychiatrist would probably be scratching their head over a case like this, but you? You’re just sitting there acting like you’ve got all the answers. It's a bit much, don't you think?
Even if there's only a tiny chance this whole thing is actually true, isn't attacking someone who just went through a total nightmare still pretty inhuman? Like, seriously, where is the decency? It feels pretty low, honestly.

So, if someone decides to be a complete jerk on a social issue, everyone sees it, right? It’s right there in black and white. Honestly, shouldn't being that inhuman be a punishable offense in the 21st century? I mean, seriously. We aren't exactly living in a "bread and circuses" era anymore—well, maybe we are, but you know what I mean.

Not sanctioning inhumanity... honestly, you can draw parallels between that and so many other things. It’s like when people act completely heartless, but then somehow walk away looking like they’re just "cool" or "edgy," and everyone else just cheers them on. They end up backing people who go out of their way to bully or mock folks who have actually been through some stuff—people who are vulnerable or just trying to deal with past trauma. If you want to call it what it actually is? It’s just plain cruelty.

Look, it’s not like everyone on this forum is just here to troll or make fun of people by default. That’s your assumption, but you're wrong. Some people actually come here looking for a little encouragement, some help, or even just a bit of comfort because they're dealing with some genuine disappointment in their lives. It's not like everyone's life is perfect and fantastic all the time. Not everyone is just being shallow and showing up to mock others, like some people do around here.

Nicholas King I didn't catch what you were trying to say there. It looks like you hit send before finishing your thought. What was it?
🤦

If you took a magnifying glass and a candle and went hunting for a more perfect example of how badly this forum is being run, you’d probably be searching until the sun goes down. Honestly, I don't think you could find a single case that illustrates the sheer incompetence of the admin team quite this clearly.

So, this guy basically just wrote, "I think the OP is fake." Even if he’s actually right—and I’m pretty sure he is—even if there aren't any forum rules explicitly banning people from losing their minds, whether they have a point or not... I mean, where exactly in that guy's sentence is the justification for the girls "going wild with cause"? It's just not there.

Honestly, it’s the same old story. So many reports end up being nothing more than empty sanctions, and frankly, it makes zero sense. I mean, how is an admin even supposed to prove anything when the report itself is basically built on thin air? It’s just a guessing game at this point.

How can you be so "certain" about something when even the people who actually know her personally couldn't say if it's true or not? I mean, even her closest friends don't have X-ray vision; unless she explicitly tells them, they have no way of knowing if something like that actually happened to her.
Slaff sometimes cracks me up—he can be pretty funny and witty—and honestly, he was probably just trying to lighten the mood here, so I'm not going to sit here and judge him too harshly. But maybe there just wasn't any room for jokes and insults in this specific thread. To be honest, what he wrote over there actually caught me off guard. I’m usually the type of person who doesn't hold a grudge and forgets rude comments almost immediately, but yeah, I was genuinely shocked.

Because neither you nor he had any way of knowing if that topic was legitimate or just someone trolling. Nobody is guilty until proven otherwise... and those little jabs... If there's any shred of decency left, insults and nasty behavior don't belong here. Especially not when we're talking about people who have gone through something terrible. It's not like everyone's life is sunshine and rainbows.
Daniel Ward87 said:Can you actually give me an example of what you mean? It’s kind of tough to wrap my head around when the question is this vague. Hard to comment on something that’s basically just a general statement, you know?

Even better—could you actually give me an example where someone reported an unpleasant post and the moderators actually stepped in and handed out a sanction?
That would be way better. ☕

And please, don't go labeling my post as spam or trolling now, okay? 😳🙄
Amy Rivera66 said:They’ve gone silent because they know we’re right and they’ve got zero arguments left to defend themselves. Pathetic, honestly...

I'm with you on this one. It’s pretty obvious they don't have a leg to stand on against these serious, well-founded callouts—callouts that, from what I can see, plenty of other people here agree with.

The thing is, this has been a permanent fixture on this forum for ages. No matter how many times they swap out the moderation team, it feels like hardly anyone (if anyone, really) actually does anything about a report for an indecent post or someone being outright offensive. Those posts almost never get penalized.

You can sit there waiting for hours—and yeah, there’s a whole crowd of mods on this site—but you won’t see any reaction or any actual consequences when you report a nasty comment or a situation where someone clearly starts insulting someone else for no reason. That post just cruises right through without a single penalty.

But heaven forbid *you* respond to it later (even if it’s been three days since the insult happened and nothing was done about it), then suddenly you're the one getting hit with some massive warning or losing a ton of points. At this rate, I guess you should just let everyone insult you and stay quiet. Maybe even thank them for the insults while you're at it...
rowdyfalcon35 said:Hey. I won't send you any pictures because it looks honestly horrific, and I don't want to traumatize people when I already have to deal with looking at this mess in the mirror myself. Basically, imagine Michael Jackson's nose, then look at it from the side and imagine it twice as thin and sunken—that's what mine looks like. They told me today it’s just going to get more sunken as this indentation grows. I need urgent surgery, but they won't operate on me because the idiot broke my entire nose; he basically shortened all the bones. 😢
I'll handle the surgery in Washington, D.C., either at Vinogradski or Mercy Hospital. If I had just gone there immediately, this wouldn't have happened... I can't forgive myself.

Redlady, reading this breaks my heart. Since you don't have the cash for a new procedure, my advice is to absolutely SUE this guy for what he did to you.

A lot of lawyers, once they see the results of his handiwork, will agree to take the case just for a contingency fee without asking for money upfront.

Sue him for enough money to fly to the USA and see a top-tier specialist who can actually fix what this guy destroyed. Because seriously, this is awful.

Whatever you do, don't just let it end like this, forgetting his mistakes while searching for others to fix them. You see, hospitals aren't crazy enough to clean up the messes made by some private practitioner who ruined someone's nose.

It isn't right for you to just forget and forgive him. I'm a believer and I'm all for forgiveness, but not in this case—this guy disfigured you and basically wrecked your health.

Don't lose sight of this or just move on to someone else. While you're waiting for your nose to heal, find a lawyer and tell them what happened; plenty of them work on commission.

Our legal system is a disaster, but damn it, in a case like this, I think they should definitely rule in your favor and make him pay decent damages.

Then you grab plane tickets from $2000 to the States and book an appointment with a world-class doctor who can actually help you.

THERE IS TOO MUCH EVIL IN THIS COUNTRY GOING UNPUNISHED! If that guy doesn't know how to do his job, why the hell is he even doing it?

Screw a bunch of successful surgeries when just one single mistake can ruin a person's life! And if he messes up that badly, he has to answer for his "crime."

Trust me, that guy makes plenty enough to pay you a massive settlement.
What's a few thousand dollars to him to fix things in the States?

Find a lawyer, try to settle out of court first, and if they won't, then go all the way. He has to be held accountable! Who else is going to do it if not the person who caused it?

He surely pulls in $6,000 a month easily, so he can afford to pay for the crap he pulled.

He won't go broke over this.

Do not let his empty excuses and platitudes about how "everything is fine" get to you.

If he won't admit his mistake nicely, make him admit it by force. And don't let his ego or arrogance shake you.

And guys like that definitely have weaknesses, believe me. Let him answer for his mistakes, and if he can't fix it himself, let him leave it to someone who actually knows what they're doing.

He clearly isn't a specialist, given how disgusting he's being toward his own patient and how he refuses to grasp what he's done (or rather, plays dumb, which is the easiest thing to do).
Everything would be great if there was just ONE SINGLE TIME since I started hanging out here that I’ve been banned for being some kind of cartoon character after suing someone for insults.

Sadly, that hasn't happened even once! Not one single time.
I mean, isn't there some statistical probability theory where at least once in a hundred tries, the dice should land in my favor, even at the lowest possible odds?

And it’s not just me, either. I notice it all the time—this crowd where people jump into threads with totally baseless insults, and more often than not, the person who actually stands up to them gets flagged and kicked off. It’s almost never the original jerk who starts the fight.

So basically, someone can go on and on forever, picking fights, hurling insults, and attacking whoever they want, but the second you snap back? You're the problem. Even if they’re calling you sick, crazy, or every other terrible name under the sun.
Am I supposed to just sit there and say, "Please, carry on, because those are the rules of Reddit"?
This mystery is going to haunt me on this forum forever. It happens a hundred times: I drop some provocative opinion that most people aren't going to agree with.

Then, out of nowhere, these high-strung types show up—people who are clearly frustrated by something in their own lives—and the second they see something they don't like, they just start hurling insults. You know the drill: "you're crazy," "you're stupid," "get help," "you're not normal," or whatever other garbage an idle, miserable mind can conjure up.

And here’s the kicker: when you finally lose your cool and snap back at them in kind, the mods usually don't even blink at the initial insult (honestly, sometimes it feels like they enjoy watching it). Instead, *you* get the ban—simply because you fought back using their own tactics.

What kind of logic is that? So, someone else can come at me with disgusting vitriol first, but I’m expected to follow some saintly, "turn the other cheek" doctrine regardless of how nasty the attack was?

If that's the rule, why don't you apply it to yourselves? Why is it that the people throwing the insults never seem to get banned, even though they're clearly breaking the rules? It feels like there's one set of rules for the favorites and another for everyone else.

Are you banning the person responding just because you don't know them, while letting the original harasser off easy because they're part of the inner circle? I honestly don't get it. It's a permanent enigma to me. I'd really love a straight answer as to why I've been targeted by this injustice a thousand times already.

Why is it that you never react when someone drops a curse word at me, digs up my old posts that have nothing to do with the current topic just to mock me, or uses irrelevant stuff to tear me down? Yet, the moment I respond to that person, I'm the one getting banned.
Why can't you see the difference between good and evil? You completely ignore a malicious, humiliating, and vile post directed at me, but you suddenly develop perfect vision the moment I fire back. And then—boom—the ban. I'm half-joking, but seriously: someone comes along being malicious, digs up some bad experience from my past to insult me (which has zero connection to the topic), and you don't care. They are being genuinely hateful, but if I respond—even with a tiny insult—the hammer falls on me.

You don't care that they're pulling off-topic posts that should be flagged as spam and harassment. I sit around waiting to see a single warning issued to people like that, but since you never react and they never get penalized, I end up hitting back with an insult of my own—sometimes a stronger one, just to settle the score—and I already know the outcome: warnings or bans for me.

Linda Johnson15 said:$267 How many people are we talking about here?

Honestly, anything priced under $5.00 per person feels a little sketchy to me... they’re either using cheap fillers or it's just a mountain of frosting and gelatin.... 🤷

If you take 350 guests at 15 bucks each, you're looking at roughly $1733... and that’s just for those standard, basic cakes with a few flowers or simple decorations... just the classics...

But for a custom cake like this one? I wouldn't dream of doing it for less than $6.75 per person... which brings us to $2333... though, if she claims it's $2667, then maybe...

Still, those specific details they had on their cake... hmm... it'll be interesting to see if they can actually pull off a replica
image

Maybe if they could just replicate this part:
image

I don't know, but plenty of women have mentioned getting wedding cakes for well under $333, and I've seen tons of similar cakes online priced at $333. Even for 100 people... (which you can find easily enough once you Google "wedding cake prices"). For example, this one
http://www.diamanttorte.com/catalog.htm

Now, whether that's a legitimate bakery or someone working under the table, who knows... and that first link even shows cakes that are cheaper than $3.25 apiece.. I mean, I honestly have no clue what the quality is like when they're that cheap, even if they look pretty good visually.. It's pretty obvious a lot of people make cakes that go for less than $5.00 a piece and end up costing around $3.25 total per unit.
Though, being real, I have my doubts about the quality too, mostly because of that price tag.
They look great because the sisters making them finished decoration courses in America, but what about the taste?
There's probably some kind of catch with a price that low... Cakes for 350 people are a bit more rare... so if a cake for 100 people is around 1000, then one for 350 would be closer to 3500 or 4000. And obviously, if you want that modern, high-end decoration, logic says it’s going to be way more expensive..

Replicating a royal couple's cake involves so many people and so much decorating time. So the cake won't just be $333 more expensive, it'll likely be double, if not more.

Sean Long4 said:So, did she actually say the cake was thrown in for free? If that's the case, the cost is already baked into the menu price, meaning they’re still being asked to shell out an extra $45 on top of that.

As for La Torteria... their pastries and cakes are notoriously pricey to begin with. I’m honestly curious how much he’d end up paying for that specific cake—I wouldn't be surprised if it clocked in well over $150.

From what I gather, you can pick up a standard wedding cake for even less than $267, so I have no idea what the actual base price is versus this extra surcharge. Even if you add, say, $800 plus $4500, that still feels like a steal for a "royal replica."

I didn't realize the basic cake cost was already part of the menu $1333—standard wedding cake prices aren't usually that high, and I had no clue the guest list was as massive as 350 people, which probably explains why the price tag looks like that..

Anyway, I was assuming the cake portion of the menu was around $333 and that the wedding was much smaller.. maybe like 80 or 90 people, which is more typical for most weddings..

But then again, if there really are 350 guests, that $1333 price point makes sense, since a cake meant for 350 people has to be absolutely massive.

Linda Johnson15 said:You really sold yourself short there... sorry, but seriously...

Making a wedding cake that looks exactly like the one Kate Middleton and Prince William had takes more than just a fancy stand... honestly... if you're going to a random local bakery that doesn't specialize in this kind of high-end work (and if it's cheap, then definitely don't expect much...), don't be surprised. Personally... I’d walk right into the shop and demand to see their portfolio of wedding cakes first...

If you actually want an identical replica that turns out perfect... Christian at Magnolia Bakery is the only person you should be talking to...

The price they quoted me for $1500—just to replicate the royal couple's cake—is a total joke. From what I've seen elsewhere, cakes like that can easily run up to $10,000.
Trying to get 17 different cakes plus a royal replica all for $4,500? I’m terrified they’ll cut corners somewhere or it'll end up looking like something a toddler whipped up in a kitchen...

I think Vince's offer is a lot more realistic.

We’re going to be serving a smaller batch of a classic Red Velvet cake. Since we have quite a few guests coming over, the main priority was ensuring there were enough varieties and plenty of servings.

If you don't mind sharing, I'm dying to know how much a cake like that would cost here in the States? (And does anyone know roughly how many pounds it weighs?)

Matthew Anderson4 said:Watch out, I might just stick my perm right in your face.

Don't worry, I'll take my punishment now. I was being soooo bad! Honestly, someone needs to discipline me, and a permanent ban seems like the best way to go—especially when people just don't get my sense of humor. It's easier to just shut down whatever you don't understand, right? We need to immediately eliminate this unknown intruder on Reddit before anarchy starts spreading everywhere!!!

Heil Hitler!) 🙂

P.S. Honestly, I don't get this obsession with intolerance toward anyone who thinks differently. Everyone’s wired differently, right? But apparently around here, if you dare to say something that doesn't perfectly align with everyone else's vibe, you get slapped with an instant ban. Or a permanent one, obviously. Just for having a slightly different take than someone else, I'm already staring down a lifetime ban. Typical. It’s just blatant proof of how much intolerance one person can actually hold toward someone else. Seriously.

The funniest part of this whole mess was when I joked about playing the "predict the next betting underdog" game—you know, like everyone else does before the odds shift. Apparently, Joshua Garcia8 and that other guy took me way too seriously. They banned me on the spot, acting like I was some kind of public enemy or something. Total overkill.

And I’ve gone and annoyed them so much—not that I actually see a sports betting site as some life-or-death matter, by the way—that now I feel like I can't even post a single word without getting slapped with an immediate ban.

Look, we all know what a sportsbook actually is... It’s definitely not some legitimate career path or a reliable way to pay the rent, so there's really no reason to treat it like some life-or-death mission.

Maybe people should try spending some time on Reddit reading posts from actual American and British experts. They’d see that a bunch of folks around there crack jokes or throw in a little sarcasm without immediately getting hit with a ban, a permanent lockout, or those creepy threats in their DMs. It's not that deep.

If that isn't absolutely insane, I don't know what is. People down there get banned just for cracking a joke... seriously. People lose, so they make a few jokes just to take the edge off, but these two? They’re just sitting there waiting for the chance to slap on some warnings and hand out bans. That’s it. I've said my piece. Honestly, looking at the comments below, most people seem to agree that we don't need to take the Reddit rules quite this literally. It’s getting a little ridiculous, really—watching these two take everything so incredibly seriously. It’s turning into a complete circus.

I honestly have so much respect for people who can just switch off their souls and do their jobs without feeling a single thing... It’s actually kind of impressive. Honestly, thank God I haven't been thrown in jail yet—mostly because I didn't get to witness them being hailed as the greatest rulers of the century or their work being treated like the most vital thing on the planet.
It’s just completely devoid of any sense of humor or soul. Seriously.

On another note, I honestly can’t wrap my head around the fact that there are men out there who actually resort to threatening women via private messages. Like, is there actually a lower rock bottom than this? Is there?

I’ve spent a ton of time on various forums talking to people from all over—whether it's an American, an Englishman, or an Italian—and for any of them, going after a woman with threats would be way beneath their dignity. But clearly, that’s not how things work here.

Seriously, how do guys like that even look at themselves in the mirror after doing something so pathetic?

Is it some kind of deep-seated Oedipal complex or just... something else?

The fact that some guy thinks he can slide into my DMs and threaten to beat me up is just beyond unbelievable.
Can moderators threaten other members? It's about a terminator. in Feedback & Suggestions ·
So, look, I’ve posted a few things here intended as jokes—you know, basically wishing the moderators would rack up a bunch of warnings next year. Any sane person would realize it was just a joke. Instead, I got banned by Terminator, and then he starts hitting me up in my DMs with threats about a permanent ban and all sorts of other nonsense. Honestly, the stuff he's saying feels like something you'd report to the police. And what about the owner of Reddit? How can they let mods act like this, taking their weird little power trips out on people in private messages and thinking they can get away with it?

I know being a woman at a sportsbook isn't exactly a popularity contest, even though I actually know sports better than 99% of the guys hanging around there. But still, nobody has the right to threaten me in my private messages, and I'm sure as hell not going to sit there and take it.

Can someone please explain what kind of forum this even is?
Are the moderators some kind of deities here who aren't allowed to be addressed with even a hint of irony or whatever?

The best part is, I was one of the few women posting at that sportsbook, just trying to be funny and lighten the mood, but all I get are warnings and threats from Terminator or Joshua Garcia.

The only two bans I’ve ever caught were at that sportsbook, and it happened every single time I tried to write anything longer than a sentence.

Are the mods allowed to just do whatever they want here, including threatening other members?

If there’s anyone in a "higher rank" listening, tell me: are threats of a permanent ban actually okay after a couple of innocent jokes? Like, if someone's just trying to make the atmosphere less "bureaucratic" and a bit more fun?

Is it really okay for a moderator to just slap you with a ban because they feel like it, or maybe just because they don't like you for some random reason?

What’s worse is that I actually gave this person a few compliments just to try and suck up to him a little bit, since I could see what he was like, but clearly that didn't work. Now I've somehow ended up on his bad side, and now he's threatening me with a permaban.

It’s probably just someone incredibly narcissistic, selfish, and full of themselves, but also super petty, even though nobody has ever been rude to him. He seems to have his own issues and just takes them out on others to stop them from talking.

If he thought threatening me with a permanent ban would shut me up and stop me from writing about him, he's dead wrong.

A lot of things could have happened, but I guess we missed the boat on that one.

The meds you mentioned are from the same class. Since they don't have the exact same ingredients, you can't really compare their potency. Both are heavy hitters.🙂

Of course it's impossible when the idiots in charge are even more incompetent, and the people running the federal agencies are just hacks trying to look busy by passing laws that get increasingly absurd.

Honestly, having to go to your doctor just to talk about period cramps and getting a prescription for them feels totally insane. It’s not like a sudden, life-threatening emergency; it’s just this recurring monthly pain that you should be able to handle by just grabbing something at a pharmacy without having to "prove" to some doctor how much your stomach is actually killing you just to get the one thing that actually works.

(Like with me, for instance). Every other pill is useless, and this is the only one that does the job. And just when I finally got my routine down—taking two Anacins on the first day of my cycle because it's the only thing that helps—I ran out. So, I had to suffer through what felt like early labor pains because I didn't make it to the clinic in time and it slipped my mind. Now, it looks like I'll have to play the idiot and visit my doctor every single time I need a new bottle, which sucks because I try to avoid community health centers and hospitals as much as humanly possible. But here I am, all because of one little bottle of damn Anacin! 🙄 🙂
