It's wild to see how much Google's AlphaFold is actually being used in real-world biology. Using AI to fix mistakes in gene editing sounds like a massive leap forward for medical safety. Do you guys think we can actually trust AI to handle something as delicate as our DNA?
Amy Brooks17 said:Hey everyone, I was incredibly frustrated today when I realized my surgery scheduled for March 30th might clash with my period. My cycle has shifted slightly, and since my periods tend to run long, they’ve overlapped with the procedure date. If this happens, will they just push the surgery back until it's over, or what? My heart rate is all over the place because I can't breathe properly—my left nostril is completely non-functional. It's affecting me both through my mouth and nose. Honestly, I can't deal with this anymore. How long does someone typically stay in the hospital, and what are the recovery restrictions regarding going outside? I've heard a dozen different stories, and I need to know for my college attendance records. Specifically, I'm asking about the public hospitals in Miami, not private clinics.
Having your period won't interfere with surgery. It’s a negligible amount of blood. I was hospitalized for eight days myself; I felt completely fine after three weeks, and my nose was fully recovered within two months.

Go get checked out to make sure you haven't developed an infection through a tooth canal. I know someone who dealt with this exact issue after surgery, only to find out they had opened up a canal from a tooth, allowing bacteria to leak through. That’s why she was smelling that stench.
I suggest seeing Dr. Baudoin over at Mount Sinai. He runs a private practice, too. He mostly sees kids, but he takes adults as well.
I went to him privately because the wait times at the public clinics are months long. However, I had my surgery done through his hospital affiliation. It was covered by insurance, and I didn't have to wait long.
Sarah Murphy39 said:Oh, they definitely do.. I'm not sure if you need just a GP or a dentist too. Regarding dentists—stay far away from Dr. Rajna Mandic. Just run. The whole neighborhood has trauma from her. I heard there's a great new dentist in town, go to him instead.. As for a GP—avoid Dr. Bežovan. I can't speak for others since I see her myself..
Fine. Now I know where not to go. 😁
And yes, I am looking for a GP. I already have a solid dentist.
I recently moved to the DZ Dugav area and want to switch to a local doctor at the DZ Dugav health center. Can anyone recommend a good physician who is currently accepting new patients? Thanks.
Go see an ENT specialist. You either have a sinus issue or a deviated septum. They'll diagnose you and give you a plan. Don't waste time waiting. If it's your sinuses, get it treated immediately; once that inflammation becomes chronic, there's no easy fix.
p.s. That throat drainage you mentioned is just a side effect of sinus inflammation called postnasal drip.

I know it isn't something to mess around with... that's why I couldn't even wait until my appointment with Ginić before starting this thread. I'm just worried it might be an ovarian infection, though today it feels more like it might be my large intestine acting up... I don't know. I just hope it's nothing serious.😢
I have the exact same symptoms, but since I've already been diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, I'm pretty sure that's what it is. For me, the pain usually lets up once I've had a bowel movement.
Noah Johnson63 said:If you have a deviated septum, surgery is an option. However, the recovery is painful and often—too often—unsuccessful. Plus, you might end up on a year-long waiting list. If you could find a top-tier surgeon and get treated under proper conditions, paying $5,000 to $10,000 $0.00 would be worth it, assuming such a doctor even exists in this country.
Give me a break. I already told you exactly how you can get this done in a few months with a specialist who’s already helped two other women on these forums. The surgery itself doesn't hurt. You won't be comfortable for two weeks afterward, but damn it, that temporary discomfort is nothing compared to the daily misery you're dealing with right now for the rest of your life.

When exactly was it? I told my family to set the DVR for 8:00 PM like the schedule said. I come back later only to find out my mother claims some American series was airing on another channel at that same time. 😠
swiftseal69 said:The issue arises when I pull away; her condition worsens. That’s why I mentioned feeling guilty. When she’s with me, she's fine. But I’m fragile, and when we're apart, I'm fine while she becomes impossible.
Look, you're just assuming that's how it works. She isn't doing better when she's with you, nor is she doing worse when she isn't. She has simply manipulated you through emotional blackmail. The only reality is your reaction to her. That is the only metric you can—and must—use to judge the situation.
