Honestly, if you’re traveling from California to Cleveland, it’s actually quite easy to lose your bearings. 🙄
Anyway, I'm just glad she made it back in one piece. ☕
So, that shipment I was talking about finally crawled its way here—thirteen whole days later, mind you—and that’s with supposedly "priority" shipping. 😲 🙄
Drew Gonzalez75 said:So, did they actually refund everything? Including the shipping costs—multiplied by three?

Look, I was just waiting out the full 14 days after I sent it, because that’s when I finally have the right to file a claim. So, I'm heading down to the USPS office tomorrow. 😠

And they’ll be refunding my shipping five times over—that’s what the fine print on the receipt says, and that’s how they handled it the first time. But honestly? I don't even want the money back. I just want my damn package!!!😠
Nicole Garcia said:Make sure you send it via a tracked package or at least a certified envelope! I had one shipment that never even made it to NYC—it was stolen right out of the mail! 😠 😳

I always use certified mail, and wouldn't you know it? Even then, a recent shipment of mine just vanished into thin air. 😠
neonridge8 said:But do you actually have proof?

Oh, I have proof. Believe me, I wouldn't even be wasting my breath on this if I didn't. 😉
And frankly, I don't give a damn about a refund or compensation right now—I just WANT my freaking package! 😠 I mean, what kind of ridiculous situation is this, where a shipment just vanishes into thin air? Does it just sink into the ground? Does it evaporate? 🙄 It’s a physical object, for God's sake, not some puff of smoke. 🙄

I am absolutely livid. 😳
@stormyhound9/">@@stormyhound9 - Honestly, I think she should have walked away with a settlement. It all happens so fast once they hit you with that official decision where they offer a half-hearted apology and promise to pay out a specific amount. 🤷
😠 😠

Last Thursday, I sent out two separate shipments headed for Cleveland, and while one arrived without issue, the other has completely vanished into thin air!!! 😠 I am absolutely livid!
God, I swear, they are all just a bunch of incompetent hacks! How is this even possible?!

I’m 100% certain someone swiped it. 🙄 Is there any actual way to threaten them with a lawsuit or something similar?! 😠
Chris Collins6 said:Can someone please explain why I’m being hit with an extra $1.75 charge every single time the mail carrier drops off a package or an envelope? I pay my shipping and everything else on time, yet somehow I'm still being asked for an additional $1.75... seriously? hmh

Those $1.75 charges apply when a FedEx or UPS driver pulls up in a van to deliver your package. If your local USPS carrier brings it, you aren't paying anything extra, but if it's one of those private delivery vans, you're always going to be out $1.75 if you're home to receive it. 🙂

And you should definitely be getting a receipt showing you paid that $1.75 🙂
.
It has absolutely nothing to do with who sent the item. 🙂
Nicholas Turner said:What happens if my package never shows up?

I sent off a registered letter via USPS Priority Mail with a return receipt. It was just a small envelope, barely 50 grams. Even though the recipient is only about 200 miles away, it hasn’t arrived after eleven days. Can I actually walk into a Post Office with my tracking info and demand they hunt down this specific shipment and bring it back to me?

I'm aware I can file a claim—paying that extra fee $5.00—and potentially get reimbursed five times the postage cost, but what good is that little consolation when the contents might be fifty times more valuable than the shipping itself?🙂

You absolutely need to go to the Post Office. Honestly, it should have been there by now. Though, I'm not entirely certain if that "14 business days" rule applies even to something like this—you know, the window from when you mailed it to when it's officially considered late.

Your local branch could call the destination facility where you dropped it off to see if anything like that was even scanned in or if it's just sitting in some bin somewhere. Then again, if it had actually been processed, wouldn't you have received some kind of confirmation or update by now?🤷

Of course they’re "working," since all the old discussions are locked tight and any new ones get shut down almost instantly. ☕

Who would actually have the motivation to start a discussion anymore, even if it were genuinely useful? 🙄

If they actually cared about their own business, maybe they’d step up... 🙂
Otherwise (and I hate to be the one to say it), there is just no point...

Good luck to the "finest ladies" on this Reddit. 😉

They went ahead and wrote that they basically can't do anything at all, which—fine—isn't exactly news to me, though I suppose it shouldn't be a shock, right? 😳 But that doesn't mean they can't answer a few simple questions. It isn't as if we're demanding everything go back to how it was ten years ago; we're just asking for a response to my original post. That should be possible, shouldn't it?

Yes, I was actually wondering if anyone could possibly contribute anything to this thread—specifically the admins? 😕 👎
Estée Lauder and the "reformulation" PDF in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Since the admins probably aren't even looking at this anymore, what's the point? ovu I’m starting a new thread regarding the Temu situation over at Estée Lauder. I’ve decided to consolidate my questions here because they are constantly being asked on that other thread anyway, and frankly, it's getting repetitive. I am sincerely requesting that one of the admins actually steps up and provides some real answers to these inquiries.

I suppose I can understand if anyone felt that such a move was absolutely necessary. Something? Is that all we have to work with here? A single, solitary word tossed into the void like a scrap of paper in a hurricane? What exactly are we supposed to do with "something"? Are we meant to ponder the infinite possibilities of existence, or is this just some cryptic test of my patience? One wonders if there is any substance behind such brevity, or if we are simply drifting through this digital space without a compass. Truly, what is the point? That PDF will eventually be implemented, sure. But I truly cannot wrap my head around those so-called "arguments" Desiree put forward. How exactly are they supposed to justify this entire "reform"?

The editorial board isn't exactly thrilled about that Estée Lauder PDF—you know, the one consisting of seven separate files—and frankly, I can't say I blame them. It’s a mess. But what really gets me is that they actually went as far as to conclude the following:

Desiree said:The editorial board isn't exactly thrilled with how things are looking right now. Why? Because let’s face it: the subforum has become an absolute mess to navigate. The front page? It’s lost its purpose entirely. Those smaller subforums have shrunk to the point of insignificance, and the whole setup feels incredibly insular—almost like we're shouting into a vacuum. Does any of this actually make sense anymore?

On what exactly are you basing this conclusion regarding Estée Lauder? What is the underlying logic behind such an assertion? Is there any actual substance to this claim, or are we simply drifting through baseless speculation? Is there anything more exhausting than this? A complete and utter lack of order. Everything is just... scattered. Unorganized. It’s a chaotic mess, isn't it? One can hardly find a single coherent thought amidst all this clutter. Does anyone actually intend to fix this, or are we simply meant to wander through this disarray forever? And how exactly did the cover of that PDF lose all sense of purpose?! 😕 Who even says that? Is it you admins? Honestly, did you all just sit around and churn out ten posts yourselves?

Desiree goes on to point out how Alternative, the Economy, and Ford—each boasting three to five subforums—have significantly more threads than a single Estée Lauder section. However, she conveniently forgets to mention the actual post counts, which would paint a much different picture:

Desiree said:Alternative (with about 1,850 total threads), Economy (roughly 4,500 threads), and Ford (sitting at around 19,500 threads) all maintain between three and five subforums. Estée Lauder, which has roughly 800 threads, used to have seven. Too many, wouldn't you agree? Most of those subforums were hovering around sixty or seventy threads apiece.

And just how much can we actually say about the popularity of each subforum if we take a look at the raw post counts?

Alternative - 243,255 posts
Economy - 214,590 posts
Cars - 457,382 posts
Estée Lauder — 477,062 posts

And finally, one last thing: why on earth was this only done now? Why wait until this exact moment to take action? Was it after the moderators... Is there truly nothing left? Is everything we touch destined to be draped in that saccharine, "angelic" veneer? I find myself wondering if any substance remains beneath the surface of this relentless, sugary perfectionism. Can we not have one moment, one thought, one existence that isn't sanitized by such nauseatingly pure imagery? Give me grit. Give me something raw, something flawed, something decidedly un-angelic. Anything else is just a hollow facade. i Just a Girl So, they’ve gone ahead and rearranged all the subforums, compiled lists of topics, merged duplicates, and whatnot? Is that really how this works now? Couldn't they have just handled all that organization back when the forums were first selected, rather than waiting until they started shuffling everything around like this? Honestly, what a fantastic service you've provided them. Truly impeccable work. 👍
Seriously, why on earth is the "Estée Lauder" PDF suddenly such a massive thorn in everyone's side right now? I mean, really? When you were all busy spinning up those brand-new subforums, wasn't the official word that we shouldn't be locking things down because it was unnecessary? So what changed? What exactly prompted this sudden shift in policy? 😕

And yeah, this really is the last one: what on earth? Is there any point in even attempting to engage with this? Is anyone actually listening? I find myself staring at these endless, repetitive threads, wondering if we are all just circling the drain together. Does anyone truly believe that anything changes? It feels like we are all just shouting into a void, waiting for an echo that will never come. Why bother? Why do we continue to dissect these trivialities when the foundation is already crumbling beneath our feet? It is exhausting. Truly, deeply exhausting. i Samantha So, they’re running the show over at Estée Lauder as moderators? Really? When neither one of them has contributed a single constructive thought to that entire subforum? And honestly, let's go even further—they aren't even active on that board to begin with! What is this, some kind of lifetime appointment based on vague "merit" or special favors at a major US web portal? Does anyone actually believe that logic? 🙄
Angela Grant22 said:How many days does it actually take for a letter to travel from San Diego to Los Angeles? I need to get some paperwork sent out immediately, and I’m trying to figure out if we're looking at a forty-eight-hour turnaround or if this is going to drag on for even longer. Please, someone, help me out here.🙂

If you manage to get that order in by 2:00 PM, I’m thinking FedEx might actually pull it off and have it at your door by tomorrow—or, if we're being realistic about the current state of logistics, maybe in two days.

Does anyone actually bother to check the fine print? Because, for the record, the turnaround time for USPS Priority Mail is four business days. Just thought I’d clarify that for those of you expecting miracles. 🙂
Drew Gonzalez75 said:Won't they be reimbursed for the shipping costs three times over plus the actual value of the items she listed?

From what I can gather, we're talking about a standard certified mail shipment here—there’s absolutely nothing in the paperwork indicating a declared value was even set. In those cases, you typically get the shipping fee multiplied by five. Of course, if a specific value had been declared, the math changes entirely, but I am strictly referring to a basic certified shipment. 🙂
Amy Booth70 said:Can someone tell me if anyone else has dealt with a certified package just vanishing into thin air? What on earth do you do when a certified shipment fails to arrive!?????

I've been waiting on one since February 14th. It was sent from Chicago and still hasn't shown up... and I am absolutely certain my friend sent it properly, so there's no way it's an issue on her end...

Look, if it’s been more than 15 days since she dropped it off and the package hasn't arrived or been returned, then there is a specific protocol to follow. She needs to take her receipt for the shipment back to the local USPS branch where she sent it and file a formal claim. A clerk there will fill out the paperwork, which then gets routed to your local post office. They check the status, and if they confirm it's lost, she'll be entitled to compensation—usually five times the postage cost. And let me tell you, that reimbursement tends to hit the account pretty quickly.

Beyond that, there isn't much else you can do. 🤷
ironwolf52 said:Look, it didn't even cross my mind to mention that she’d end up blowing through her most expensive data plan!
Besides, I rarely ship packages like this, and I have to admit, I don't actually know all the different ways you can handle this kind of shipping! But this whole situation was just plain messy! ☕

It isn't about my feelings! It's just that I felt genuinely bad for the guy! 🤷

That is exactly why—because you don't know—you ASK.

And if you were already doing research online, then you could have easily looked into this right away. Everything is laid out clearly for you. 🙂
So, did you even ask how you’re supposed to send it? 😕

I honestly cannot fathom WHY people don't just ask for instructions before they hit send. And then, what happens? You come crawling back later to complain about how much the USPS screwed you over. 🙄

There is a massive difference between discussing a single shared topic and completely paralyzing an entire sub-forum. But you know what? I’m stepping away from this one. If I stay any longer, I’ll start sounding biased, and we all know how much the moderators love handing out bans when someone loses their cool, don't we?😬
Anyway, long live the unknown and the unknown.👍

Who paralyzed which sub-forum? What on earth are you talking about? 😕

Everything that was said by the original poster and others regarding cosmetics and fashion—and even some other subforums—might be slightly exaggerated, sure, but that’s just how it goes. One part of the issue is that the truth hurts because it's often brutal; the other part is that certain offended prima donnas have simply wrapped the truth inside an insult and then acted all high and mighty about it.😉
Threads like these are actually quite useful for self-reflection, wouldn't you agree?

What’s the expression? The owl mocking the shadow? 😁

Look, it’s not as if the unknown and the unknown are somehow isolated from cliques or social circles. Call it whatever you want.

But let's face it: this thread is pure trolling. You can cling to your eyelashes and insist that the content is just a bit exaggerated, yet fundamentally true. 🙂
