Moderation rules on the NYT forum in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Or maybe just don't bother posting this kind of nonsense in the first place:
I'm just waiting until they start installing those water filtration systems right next to the maternity wards, so if we spot an issue, we can deal with it on the spot.

Question about reporting posts in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Amanda Hughes37 said:I picked up a warning the other day because I quoted and replied to a post that I actually reported myself.

The post has been deleted—looks like a moderator stepped in...

Does this mean if we report a post, we aren't supposed to quote it or engage with the user?
Thanks.

It’s literal hate speech and follows the standard three-day suspension rules. I don't see what the big deal is.

Does this mean if we report a post, we aren't allowed to quote it or talk back to the user?

Thanks.

Wait, so you report a post for being pure hate speech, but then you go ahead and quote it just to get a dig in?

I mean, what kind of damage would we actually be doing to society or the government if the state just took in those kids—you know, the ones lost to abortion—and put them in foster care to be raised properly? If they were fed, educated, and given a real shot, maybe they could end up serving the state or their foster families. I guess there are plenty of cases where, with the right upbringing and actual resources, a person could grow up to be someone who more than pays back everything the government or a foster parent poured into them.

Anyway, I’m calling it here. I gotta run before I get teleported straight into the 21st century.

The reason is right there in the part you "accidentally" decided to leave out.

Joe Biden hasn't really been a major talking point even back during those wild nineties, and nowadays, he only pops up when some one-hit wonder starts a thread about Canada just long enough to get noticed before fading out.
The standard penalty is usually 500 points and a 7-day timeout, so I guess you actually got off pretty easy—that’s basically what all the mods on Niche are saying about your inquiry.

As for the quality of discussion over in the Ukraine subforum... well, it is what it is. There isn't much we can do about it since the subject matter is so incredibly sensitive. That's probably why you see that subforum slowly losing steam as the community shrinks, while the heavily moderated Politics section stays busy. Honestly, managing that one is a total drag for us.

I assume you've gotten the answers you were looking for.

You just got hit with a three-day ban from me for:
"The push to scrap parental rights laws in Washington, D.C."
No thanks. I already sat through a three-day ban once. Must be nice being on the "right side" of this forum where you can just ramble whatever you want while I can't.

I don't really trust private messages anymore after what happened here. After a few years, people just dig up stuff I said in PMs and throw it back in my face.
And it's always the liberals... honestly, give me a break.

Look, you got banned by a colleague, tried to make a scene in the general chat that nobody actually cared about, and then the second that ban lifted, you immediately jumped back in with this "right side" nonsense and those shady, vague comments about private messages that left everyone pretty confused.

Chuck explained everything regarding the previous ban, and honestly, this latest one was more than earned—if anything, it was overdue. That's all I've got to say.
How to request a partial record removal from my history in Feedback & Suggestions ·
As far as I’m concerned regarding VPiT, sure, it could work, but you’re probably gonna get banned even faster if you start trolling. I guess I’m cautiously in favor of pulling partials.

3-day ban because of Greta Thunberg? WTF? in Banned Users Corner ·
Alright, sounds like a plan. I sent over the request to get her removed from the system, so now we just wait until she actually shows up.

unspecified isn't some political guru, so he shouldn't be acting like he can moderate things either. Seriously, cut out the call-outs and the mocking of other members. Just stop it.

The whole thread was locked for almost a year because of this exact kind of nonsense. We reopen it on Zoran's initiative, and what happens? It goes right back to the old ways immediately.

The decision by the moderator was justified, and honestly, this is just how things are going to play out regarding this topic.

Ukraine Has Lots of MiG-29s, but IT Might not have Enough Pilots
https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidax...enough-pilots/

Even before things kicked off, they were already running short on MiG-29 pilots. I guess it was always an issue.

Now you've got this legendary "spirit of Kyiv" thing going on, claiming 15 Russian planes shot down—which, if you do the math, is probably more than the total number of MiG-29s ever actually built. Maybe.

Two identical handles popping up at once in the middle of this massive crowd... what a mess. :(

The admin should be lifting that ban pretty soon, my bad for the mix-up.

Sam Alvarez4 said:Personally, I don't really get why they moved the 'War in Ukraine' thread over to the politics section.

Back when it was just on the general boards, the discussion stayed... well, at whatever level it was.
But ever since they dumped it into the politics subforum? It's been a total disaster, to put it mildly.

And then you've got people trying to dump photos and maps right into that absolute mess. 🤦
Has anyone here ever heard of using links?

Oh, really? 😬
Ban on VPiT (probably mod AndrejX) in Banned Users Corner ·
That whole "lax moderation" thing applies just as much to the current political hot topics where we've already drawn the line.

And as for this "taken out of context" excuse... you've been pulling that same stunt for days across all sorts of other threads, so honestly, the VPiT ban is just the inevitable result of your entire vibe.

Maybe try using those examples you mentioned once your cooling-off period is over, then come back and let me know if the biased mods are still picking on you.
Anyway, I'm done.
The start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine (Part 1) in War in Ukraine ·

My old man finally crawled out of the basement and found two rusty BMPs just sitting in the yard... apparently some Russian occupiers ditched them last night while they were making their getaway. He says there's another 32 pieces of junk trashed on the main road, too. And that blue tarp over there? God, I guess... neighbor's been riddled with bullets under it.

It’s got that Z marking on it, so it’s definitely Russian forces

I mean, honestly, even without any warheads, just the pure kinetic energy from an impact like that would probably cause some serious damage, I guess.

That's a Topol-M nuclear ICBM caught on film in western Russia—where they keep stuff like this—and this specific shot was taken back in 2018 during a parade in Moscow.

This is a newer version of that photo from yesterday, now with the "Z" scribbled on there.

While Klitschko keeps talking nonsense, Zelenskyy is actually getting things done.
In this latest clip, he’s sending a message right from the front of this building:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_with_Chimaeras

It's that building with all those weird decorations—kind of an iconic landmark in Kyiv, located maybe a mile or so from Maidan.

It's a pretty solid way to shut down the idiots claiming he's already skipped town.
The start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine (Part 1) in War in Ukraine ·

The first one is talking about asking the International Red Cross to step in, maybe collect the bodies of thousands of dead Russian soldiers and get them back home to their families in Russia. I guess.

Then there's this second guy claiming Russian planes are dropping bombs shaped like toys or cell phones... basically warning people not to touch them. Just wild stuff.
