I just finished watching it and honestly? It wasn't anything special. Just your
typical, mediocre romantic comedy...

I think it’s actually pretty great. 😉
Do our own desires actually make us unhappy? in Psychology ·
Nicole Davis7 said:Well, there you have it. If these Buddhist principles don't work for me, nothing will. 😁 I seriously need to find a way to kill off all my desires and just exist in a state of total stillness. Honestly, just coasting through life sounds a lot better than dealing with this constant frustration.😁

I've been turning over the idea of those caramel macarons in my head... honestly, I think they might be the perfect solution for me. I'm actually starting to give it some serious thought...

Finally found someone else who’s actually walking through this same kind of hell. Tell me—what do you do when those thoughts start creeping in? For me, I just spiral straight into total panic...

I’ve been through the ringer—psychiatrists, endless prescriptions, hospital stays... and yet, these violent thoughts still follow me around like a shadow. Maybe I should just write a book about my own head and these impulses. Something biting, sarcastic, and darkly funny... if I can actually get it finished before they finally catch up with me.

Kudos to you for staying off the pills. For me, it’s been a different story... I’ve been battling these intrusive, unwanted thoughts for six months now, and they just hit me out of nowhere. It’s an uphill battle every single day. It started with these sudden urges to hurt my dog—vivid images of actually doing it—then it shifted to hurting my mom, and now it's even turned toward myself. This whole thing is starting to feel much more serious than just "annoying." And honestly? I’d trade places with those people who just deal with constant cleaning compulsions any day of the week.

It’s fantastic, a solid five-star rating from me. 👍

I've been on it for about ten days now. I've been dealing with some insomnia over the last week, but other than that... nothing else so far.

Are you dealing with any other symptoms besides the intrusive thoughts, and when did this all start happening?

So, I haven't been taking Prozac for about two or three months now. My psychiatrist actually suggested I stop since she felt the dosage was too low to be effective anyway... but I don't know if it's just a feeling or maybe just some anxiety about slipping back into a depressive episode, but I've been noticing some slight negative shifts lately. I’m starting to stay up way too late again, and I find myself getting irritated by almost everything.

I’m definitely sticking with Norton. I tried using Glary Utilities once and it completely trashed my computer... I actually had to do a full reinstall of macOS.
Depression or something else? in Psychology ·
It feels a lot like depression to me—that total loss of motivation. I’ve been there myself, honestly. What I eventually realized was that I had to force myself out of it by starting with tiny, manageable wins... right now, for example, I make sure to get out for at least a 40-minute walk every single day. You could try encouraging him to make some small shifts like that. As for the sleep situation, yeah, that can be a nightmare. I used to never nap in the afternoon, but over the last year, I’ve started napping frequently, only for it to turn into sleeping straight through until evening, which is terrible. Then you can't fall asleep at night, and the cycle just repeats. I've learned the hard way that if I sleep longer than my usual eight hours, I actually end up feeling more exhausted and even more irritable.

The Others is definitely the much better movie.

Then you won't have to worry about being disappointed. 😁

Best way to swallow pills? in Health ·
I’ve tried, I really have, but eventually I just gave up. Even when I'm dealing with those massive, bitter ones, I usually just nibble on them a bit before swallowing...

I can't even begin to wrap my head around why anyone would bother quoting someone else like that. It's just empty space. Give me something real to work with.

Look, I’m just gonna say it: you can't even put Medicine and Economics in the same sentence here in the States. It’s not even a fair fight. A bachelor's degree in Economics feels like a glorified term paper compared to what you deal with in Med school—and don't even get me started on Psychology.

So what's your point there? Are you just trying to to make it about oneself by putting psychology students down, or do you actually have a real argument to back that up?
A single white hair? in Health ·
I woke up this morning and noticed one of my eyelashes has gone completely white overnight. It’s pretty surreal... I'm wondering how something like that can happen so fast. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?
