I’m heading out. I don't exactly have anything more productive on my schedule right now... 😬
Arguments with my girlfriend in Psychology & Therapy ·
She needs professional help, and she needs it right now. These reactions and behaviors you're describing have moved way past the line into extreme territory. Honestly, I don't know how you're even managing... Based on how she's acting, it looks like textbook BPD, and she seems to be in a state where everything is spiraling completely out of control.

Last week, I finally made it in, and the nurse actually had the nerve to ask if I wanted to squeeze into a slot on March 12th... as if that's soon enough??
I was so stunned I couldn't even argue; I just gave a weary little smile and told her, "This isn't right," but she just stared back at me with this incredibly strange expression. 🙂

If we’re talking about major, serious side effects, she doesn't have the right to turn you away. I really have no idea what kind of psychiatrist she is. My doctor is constantly booked up with appointments and consultations too... but if someone has an actual emergency, there shouldn't be any waiting.
A Dangerous Method in Movies ·
Keira Knightley really missed the mark here, especially in the first half. Her performance felt off, and she just didn't seem to have the range for this kind of role. On the flip side, Viggo Mortensen and Michael Fassbender were absolutely stellar—they clearly leaned into their characters and had a blast doing it. Since I've always been fascinated by how Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud gives birth to psychoanalysis, seeing that dynamic translated onto the screen was pretty intriguing...

Richard Rivera30 said:Hey everyone.

Look, I’m really not sure if this is the right subforum to start a thread, but I couldn't find anything better suited.

I'm curious about how much these small, simple, or even drastic changes actually help versus how much they might hurt.

I’ve decided to treat this year as my big fresh start.
I made a choice to hit the gym and get back in shape after all those holiday feasts and just being lazy for a few months. I also finally got serious about school. I started studying more, and I actually decided to change my major. It turns out what I was studying just didn't fulfill me. It wasn't even hard; I just didn't care about it and couldn't see myself doing it long-term.
Then there's the social side. I decided to cut ties with certain people. It wasn't because of any huge fights or hatred or anything like that. It's just that I'm tired of dragging things out—meeting up once a month, sending the occasional text, playing the part. I let go of those draining relationships that weren't necessarily "bad," but they were just exhausting my energy.
On top of that, I landed a great job through a recruiter. The people are super interesting and nice, the workload isn't too crazy, and the pay is solid. I’ve even started saving money, which used to be nothing more than a dream for me.
I also deleted Facebook. It was eating up all my free time, and some of the people on there were honestly just exhausting. I used to be glued to it 24/7. I feel so much better now that it's gone. The people who actually matter have my number and know where I live, so they can reach me easily. I don't need some silly app to stay in touch with my friends.

Right now, I am happy. New job, new habits, home life is good. I’m genuinely happy, in the truest sense of the word. Not too high, not too low. This is the first time I’ve done so many productive things for myself in such a short window, so it’s all very new to me. I'm in a bit of a positive shock.

How much do these kinds of massive shifts actually benefit your life? So far, everything is hitting me positively, but for how long? Maybe there aren't any downsides to making these changes, but what should I expect moving forward?

Hope you guys get what I'm saying. 🤣 👋

That’s exactly what I’m aiming for right now. 😁 I'm still in the early stages. 🙂
I just ordered some items under 1 kg from Germany to Canada, mostly because our local guys are absolutely stripping us blind with all those customs fees and sales tax... So, does anyone know if the folks in Canada hit you with extra charges once the package actually arrives there? 🤔
Interview experiences - let's discuss! in Psychology ·
One thing you absolutely cannot do is lie or try to play games when it comes to your actual skill set. You have to be real and just lay it all out on the table. The trick is to keep those weaker points to a minimum—and if you absolutely have to bring them up, frame them in a way that makes an employer feel like investing their time and energy in you is actually worth the payoff. Focus on your strengths and explain exactly why those qualities make you the right fit for the role. But please, don't cross the line into sounding arrogant or overconfident. And seriously, watch your first impression. People love to say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but let's be honest... we're only human, and you can't escape the halo effect. That’s why you need to show up looking professional, know your basic etiquette, offer a firm handshake, and maintain eye contact. If you don't, you've lost before you've even started. Besides, most studies show that what employers value above everything else is pure MOTIVATION.
Sudden weight gain: What's going on? in Health ·
Over the last ten days, my appetite has been through the roof, but I can't wrap my head around how I managed to put on 3 kg in just a week. 😲 Mathematically, that would mean I’ve been overeating by about three thousand calories every single day, which... yeah, I don't think that's actually happening. At most, I'm probably hitting an extra thousand calories above what my metabolism needs. Anyway, I'm definitely not pregnant, I'm sure of it. 😁

urbanskipper4 said:So, I’m on Seroquel now, and man, I have put on a ridiculous amount of weight in just six weeks. My appetite is through the roof, even though everything else feels okay. I just find myself constantly craving chocolate.
Starting today, I’m on this crazy 500-calorie diet my nutritionist set up for me.
I’ve actually worked with him before and managed to drop a ton of weight—I kept it off for two whole years back when I was just on Anafranil. My appetite was totally fine then. But things have gone downhill lately since they put me on Seroquel. It seriously just opens the floodgates for hunger. Trying to eat light while on Seroquel is basically impossible, but whatever, I'm going to lose these pounds. Acupuncture helps take the edge off the hunger, too.

That nutritionist needs to be fired and kept far away from the public. Seriously, what is wrong with people? A 500 calorie daily limit??? 😲 It’s an invitation to wreck your metabolism and throw your entire system out of whack. Even a strict diabetic meal plan usually bottoms out at around 1,100 calories a day.
Besides, dieting without any physical activity is pretty much pointless. You really need to incorporate regular exercise or some kind of movement. I was on Seroquel once, and I gained weight and felt lethargic all the time. They eventually took me off it because I just couldn't function. Then again, when I ended up in the hospital, everything was such a chaotic mess and I was under so much stress that I couldn't eat at all. On top of that, I had akathisia from Zeldox, which left me constantly fidgeting and restless... I ended up losing almost 45 pounds in about two or three months, which is absolutely terrible and unhealthy. But that wasn't planned. I was on Seroquel back then, too. Once I got home, the sugar cravings came roaring back, and I gained all those pounds back in just a few months. My Seroquel prescription was discontinued a couple of months after that. I'm still carrying those extra 35 pounds around, and my plan is to lose them primarily through staying active. I definitely need to fix my diet too, since I basically live on sweets, which is awful. The real struggle is self-discipline and this constant craving for sugar—it's likely tied to hormonal imbalances and dealing with depression over the years.

How to master lucid dreaming? in Psychology ·
Man, I had another lucid dream this afternoon, but I’m getting stuck on the same loop. It’s frustrating. Usually, once I realize I'm dreaming, I can trick my brain—I'll just tell myself, "Hey, wake up, this isn't real," and boom, I'm wide awake. But lately, that trick isn't working anymore. I'll find myself back in the exact same scenario, just with tiny little tweaks to the details, and right when I think I've finally broken through... nothing. It’s like the dream is one step ahead of my own consciousness. Honestly, the lucidity isn't even the part that's messing with me. It's the fact that these dreams keep happening, and there's always some kind of monster looming right next to me. That's exactly what happened today, and now I'm actually dreading going to sleep tonight. 😁

Loguen is known for being great at helping people sleep, but if you ask Betty Page, she’ll tell you that even the smallest dose of this stuff hits me like a freight train. My metabolism is just incredibly sensitive to antipsychotics, so this was actually the only one that didn't leave me feeling completely wrecked from side effects.

Update! in Psychology ·
Maybe what she did was violent, but it wasn't some calculated move on her part. Honestly, I think most people in that situation would have snapped. If she hadn't lashed out physically, she probably would have just started screaming or running around until she had a total mental breakdown because of how creepy that guy was.
Honestly, let them indulge in whatever they want—drugs, booze, smoking, all of it. Maybe if they go that route, they'll become infertile, and we won't have to deal with any more of these little freaks being born. Besides, looking at where things are headed, they’ll probably just engineer some "perfect child" using hand-picked genes or something. Then everyone will just be flawless... 🙂

I recently made the switch from Zoloft to Effexor. Even though I’d read plenty of stuff online suggesting a gradual taper over about a week, my doctor told me two days was plenty of time... It’s been two weeks now and, so far, I haven't hit any side effects.
The Proposal (2009) in Movies ·
At first glance, the whole premise just reminded me of "Green card." The Proposal is completely predictable and lacks any real surprises. The movie starts out fine enough, but then everything just goes downhill from there. Even if the actors wanted to give it their all, they were held back by a pretty weak script.
