Larry Walker24 said:Look, if I were actually paying for a membership on this forum, I’d be demanding they never give me a red card or any kind of penalty

Look, there are tons of paid forums out there that run perfectly fine. Paying usually just gets you a bigger inbox, an ad-free experience, and a few other little perks. Plus, it allows the owner to shell out for high-end servers and reliable providers so you don't have to deal with these annoying 503/504 errors.

On the flip side, moderation isn't going away—Something Awful is a good example (you pay a one-time fee), and even there, they won't give you a permanent ban for everything, but they'll definitely lock you out for a few days depending on how much you messed up. I guess the point is, the system works—it's pretty rare for people to cause major issues. Paying a subscription doesn't grant you total immunity.

So, it’s not really a slippery slope; the real slippery slope is if you're convinced that a forum absolutely has to be free.

I'm following you, I just don't quite get how a psychologist would contribute to the discussion or why they'd even be necessary here.

Edit: Topic, not tom.

Lisa Hernandez3 said:What’s the point? Are we just going to spend forever bickering over nothing, only to follow it up with vague questions asking for clarification on things that were already stated perfectly clearly? I suppose it's better if everyone just reads what's actually on the page.

"I'll say it again: if we need a psychologist to weigh in on this, we can easily bring one in. You don't need to go digging for people's motives for posting in a subforum, or playing the masochist by insisting you just "don't get" someone."

So, why on earth would we need a psychologist?

Alright, let's look at it from the same angle—why on earth would we need a psychologist for a topic like this?

Lisa Hernandez3 said:You found a reason to react to that specific part, but there are plenty of other points in my posts here too. I'll say it again: if this thread needs a psychologist, we can easily bring one in—you really don't need to question anyone's motives for posting on a subforum, or go on about potential masochism and insist that you just don't understand a certain person. Someone will understand, if it ever comes to that. And I'm not really leaning into any "us" or "we" rhetoric here: everyone is speaking for themselves, and my last two posts were mostly directed at your own comments. Besides, if the discussion is about something, as you claim, then drifting, as you put it, isn't really appropriate in this context. Maybe scroll back through the thread a bit and see everything that’s been said regarding that aspect, and who all participated.

hollowtrucker77, I think we've finished our conversation. There isn't really a way for you to insult me more than you already did back when you were making a fool out of me, ignoring me, banning me, and blocking my access to the site, no matter how hard you try.

I don't get it—why would we even need a psychologist at LJES when there's absolutely no reason for one? 🤷

Nothing less than "monstrous," huh?

This has absolutely nothing to do with language translation. You guys really stepped up... Condescending. Just like on that other thread, I gave you guys my answer, took the hit, and moved on. But instead, you all just keep dragging this out, obsessing over some "monstrous trail" of nonsense. And of course, in the very next post, you’d probably find the energy to write another damn essay about it. Seriously, what actually drives you people to do this?

There’s this specific way people use the word "handicap"—treating it like some kind of inherent obstacle or a built-in disadvantage. It’s a shame, really, because that’s exactly how people view anyone who doesn't fit the mold: the overweight, the short, the too muscular, or the too skinny. They just see those traits as flaws that hold you back.

Yeah, it exists. Discriminatory language. It’s everywhere. Honestly, it’s exhausting. What do you even call people like that? "Handicap enthusiasts"? Except they aren't actually handicapped, and they certainly don't have any centimeters to speak of. Thanks.

You're just proving my point: if you flip that logic on its head, you're basically admitting that Mark actually has a legitimate reason. Just looking back at everyone's takes. Then there are the people whose profile pictures prove they aren't exactly "just average Joes." Aside from being a total headache for Mark, it’s just weird when someone uses their physical appearance as a way to validate the opinions they post on this forum.

Everyone on these forums seems to be "gifted" in their own special ways. It comes up all the time in threads like this one. Obviously, it’s not a universal rule, but you definitely see those weird patterns where the ugly guys are actually good-looking, or the weak ones turn out to be strong. That’s why I even brought it up. Besides, I only wrote that post because I was honestly pissed off at how pathetic the moderation has been over the last few months. If the mods actually did their jobs, these discussions wouldn't even exist. By the time I finally posted on page 16, a whole barrage of provocations and mockery had already gone down—only it wasn't directed at me, it was all aimed at von Teesa.

Another woman on this forum just went through the exact same treatment.

Then some guy gets banned on the exact same thread—just because he didn't parrot the OP's opinion. He was just pointing out 286 different ways that having a small and thin penis basically means you're lacking functionality.

And now we just wait for someone to take the bait. Honestly, it feels pretty much in line with how this place operates. 🤦

Finally. Even if you actually buy into that whole "average looks" theory you’re typing out right now (which, to me, looks like a massive izmicaus after you blurted out something stupid in a moment of weakness).

Yeah, I said it in a moment of stupidity.
Then I reported the insults.
But nothing happened. No moderation response, even though they move lightning fast whenever someone directs an insult toward them.

So here I am. Explaining myself fifteen different ways in this thread to people who clearly don't want to get it.

You keep insisting you're hard to rattle, that you're tough, strong, and all that—so why don't you actually show some of that supposed backbone? Instead of jumping into fights like a coward and then immediately calling in the cavalry, the police, the UN Peacekeeping Forces, the blue phone, and the society for protecting forum members from insult?

I am not repeating it constantly.

This is a thread specifically about complaints and questions regarding how the mods handle things. My original post was meant for rustydrifter10. Unfortunately, she couldn't reply immediately, so things just spiraled from there.

Since you’re so hell-bent on mocking me by snidely labeling me some kind of "forum legend" (while—note well, insulting—insinuating that I personally declared myself to be some kind of forum legend and that I write from that position), let me tell you this:

I didn't say it snidely, and I wasn't trying to insult any of you. If I did, I'm sorry.

By the way, I feel pretty insulted by the way you guys are handling the discussion in this specific thread, too.

None of the people you called out actually bragged about themselves in this thread. I’ve scrolled through, and there isn't a single post where the guys you mentioned in that photo thread are boasting about walking around with massive equipment that would make porn stars blush. Not one woman has been out here bragging about having a flawless physique, either. You basically just jumped to the conclusion that because they didn't jump to the other side—claiming they're gifted and should be posting pictures—they must be lacking.

Instead of throwing stuff like this at people, it would actually be pretty fair of you to just explain why the crew feels that way. It jumped. Look, let’s be real about how people on these forums act. If you spend one thread arguing for Position A, and then jump into a nearly identical thread and make a massive blunder that completely contradicts what you just said, don't be surprised when people call you out. It makes it look like you’re just playing both sides or making things up as you go. Honestly, that’s exactly what happened to that one user you keep bringing up.

You’ve reported several posts for insults and gross misconduct, but none of them actually qualify. My colleague and I went over the reports and concluded they don't meet the criteria for harassment, so we didn't issue any penalties. If we started banning people for every heated exchange, you’d be looking at a few suspensions yourself.

Since we don't consider a spirited debate to be grounds for a ban, we haven't penalized you or anyone else. Let me be clear: the reported posts were direct responses to your provocation; they aren't insults, let alone "gross misconduct."

If you call out the moderators regarding poor moderation, the mods are obligated to respond. This isn't the first time you've used the "I only want XYZ to answer, nobody else" tactic on this forum. Sadly, that’s not really how a community board works—that's more what an email chain is for.

Accordingly, if you file a formal complaint, the moderators will respond, and after that, a super mod or an admin can make the final call.

I just have to say, though, it’s honestly hilarious—borderline childish—how persistently you ignore Nicholas King's post, where he pointed out that you received the image but then suddenly went quiet.

Frank Williams7 said:Alright Charles Davis88, we’re looking at a spectrum here—ranging from selective ignorance to total, willful blindness, depending on whether the issue hits home personally or not.

I don't feel like dragging this out any further. I highly doubt we're ever going to see eye to eye on this.

Look, I wasn't really preaching or being a moralist, and I definitely wasn't the only one voicing a different opinion—though we all hit the same wall.

You want to know where the real issue lies? It's that guys and men dealing with a small and thin penis actually suffer for it. It legitimately wrecks their self-esteem, and you can bet they've been reading this thread. If you could just step out of your "one of the legends forum hr." persona for a second and move into "I'm a flawed human being but still a decent person" mode, you might ask yourself why these guys are struggling. The answer is simple: it's the bullying from the "gifted" crowd and their constant need to dominate the space. It doesn't matter if it's a "funny" nose shape, a lack of wit, or a small and thin penis—the conclusion is the same. It's unfair, and it doesn't mean there's anything wrong with them.

Maybe the fix for this whole mess is for the forum dinosaurs to finally learn some restraint.

Look, we have endless threads like this on LJES. Should we just lock every single discussion just because someone’s feelings get hurt? Just because they aren't getting a pat on the back and are instead facing reality? Of course, the nasty, abusive stuff needs to be removed and users banned, but most posts aren't even like that. We can't exactly police whether some random person feels offended by reading a thread.

If we followed that logic, any topic involving personal preferences would either have to be locked down or completely sanitized.

rustydrifter10 said:Basically, this is the most controversial part of the whole thing, and honestly, there's plenty of it scattered throughout the PDF. I don't think the LJES community needs to tighten its grip too much here; given the nature of the topics we dive into, a little bit of casual chatting, some off-topic banter, and even a bit of lighthearted teasing should be perfectly fine—I really don't see a reason to overhaul that specific section. What I am talking about is that unpleasant side of things where people start hurling insults, engaging in nasty trolling, or just being plain old provocative... That’s the stuff that shouldn't be allowed, if you ask me. At the very least, those kinds of posts should just be deleted.

Feel free to point out those specific problematic posts over on LJES where they're provoking or being outright rude to Frank Williams7, and we can easily hash it out there.

No, that’s not what I meant. I was just demonstrating how this "discussion" actually works. I just skimmed through the first quarter of the thread again to be sure, but I get the gist. The first "victim" who tried to offer a different perspective was von Teese. After getting mocked by the same little clique of users over and over, she just gave up. Then there was Velia. She ended up starting her own separate thread because she was clearly fed up with the trolling in this one. It’s funny how the provocations throughout the whole thread pretty much come from the same handful of people.

Then I jumped in. I stayed longer, tried to frame a different viewpoint. But everything kept being dragged down to a personal level. Other users chimed in too, including some kid whose small and thin dick is basically a psychological complex. He even started a poll because of this thread—and what happened? He backed off. No other choice. 🙂

There are certain posts here I'd rather not quote.

Do you honestly still think the way people are talking in this thread is okay? Or should users here learn that they're all replaceable? That they shouldn't "ripple" against the tide? It reminds me of "learned helplessness." It's that concept where you're never right unless you have actual power or belong to the majority. No matter what you write, you're wrong. 🙂

And let's not forget—I didn't set a condition. I made a suggestion. I did it specifically because of how this thread is playing out—just the same few people circling the drain over and over.

I could easily play the victim here and report this for harassment, regardless of the emoji used, but like Apophis said—this isn't an insult, let alone a serious one.

I’d suggest you stop dragging other members into this to back up your point if they aren't actually chiming in. I have my doubts that Velia left because of any provocations, and honestly, I didn't get that impression from von Teese either.

Look, I get what you're saying about the "same old users," but honestly? It feels like most of the provocations around here usually start with you—like that last stunt where you were demanding everyone "post a picture."

Frank Williams7 said:You're delusional. 🤣

If you come to this forum looking for help but expect everyone to agree with you—or worse, if you expect people to baby you with some patronizing attitude—then you’ve seriously misjudged how things work here. I’m not about to go around banning or deleting posts just because some guy is having a psychological meltdown over having a small and thin dick. If he isn't getting a "there, there, it'll be alright" pat on the head from everyone else, that's just life.

This forum is always going to have threads involving logical bifurcations, and because of that, people are eventually going to pick a side (if they feel forced to). If you decide on a position and stick to it—well, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to defend it.

Fair enough. If someone wants to turn themselves into a meme, they can, but the suggestion to lock the thread is rejected.

Apophis. Just hearing the name makes my skin crawl a little. It’s one of those things that keeps you up at night if you think about it too long. You start looking at the sky, wondering if we're actually prepared for something like that hitting us. Most people just go about their day, grabbing a coffee at Starbucks or driving to work in Chicago, acting like nothing can touch them. But space doesn't care about our schedules. It's a heavy thought. A big, looming "what if" hanging over everything. kaže:
My way of thinking works just fine. I know that because if I couldn't independently crunch data, synthesize it quickly, and make the right call based on what's in front of me, I wouldn't be able to hold down my job. Simple as that. Just a heads-up—my profession isn't something I’m going to debate on this thread or any other. So, let's not even go there.

Give it a shot. And look, I’ll say it again just so we’re clear—I haven't exactly handed you a clinical diagnosis for "paranoia" or "delusions of persecution." You tell me.And that’s exactly where we differ. That's the whole damn point.

So, does that mean you actually have the credentials to be handing out diagnoses like candy? If you do, are you even sure you’ve landed on the right conclusion here? And if you are—and that’s a big if—would you actually have the guts to say that same thing while you're on the clock at work?

If you aren't even qualified to be handing out diagnoses like candy, then what exactly am I reading here? What's the point of your posts?

So, if I follow this logic, if I just stand up and say that I'm being offended... what happens then? What’s the move? Your presence on this forum? It’s basically its own little planet. Just floating out there in the void. Honestly, it's a lot to take in sometimes. I don't know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it. But yeah, you've got your own orbit going on here. Look, if you’re going to quote my posts just to say "good morning" or "I agree," that’s it. That's where I draw the line. At that point, my feelings become a matter of constitutional protection, and your posts are basically subject to an automatic report because I’m officially stating they're offensive. Brilliant. Truly.

Look, if that attitude is coming from nothing more than a simple disagreement, then it’s totally overkill. That’s the whole point of these forums—to have different opinions clashing. If we all thought the same thing, we wouldn't bother showing up. Besides, there's still moderation in place to make sure things don't spiral into being completely inappropriate.

I said what I said. I pointed out the flaws and called out the double standards. Done.

Look, let’s get one thing straight—there’s no double standard here. When I said that any sane person has actual sexual relationships with people rather than just obsessing over porn, I was simply stating what most people do. That’s exactly what I told Phiber when we were going back and forth earlier.

Look, your posts are honestly just insults at this point. You’re doing nothing but trying to discredit what I have to say instead of actually talking. Can we please get back to reality? I’ve asked two very specific questions now, twice. Just answer them.

No, they aren't. If I followed your logic, I would have banned your posts ages ago, but I don't because I don't consider them insulting. As for discrediting other people's views, you're doing the exact same thing.

And let's be real—hasn't the expert team been dropping the same old "diagnoses," insults, and provocations for ages without anyone actually getting banned?

I made sure to report the specific posts tonight. I did my part.

Why is it that whenever someone holds a minority opinion on this topic, the majority just attacks them personally? It’s always the same style: 🙂 'Oh, if you're saying that, you probably need a microscope just to find it.' Or 🙂 'If you think that, you must be ugly, deformed, desperate, and then some...'

And why are comments like, 'Check out that avatar, it's hideous,' or 'Wow, that's actually cute, haha,' even allowed? 😕

It seems pretty logical that after seeing all that junk, you'd want to see who you're actually talking to—offering to show your own side, too.

Do those kinds of posts—which make up most of this thread—actually add any value to this forum?

Most importantly: are we all just going to start playing these petty games?

By the way—didn't I already reach out to Nice?

No.

Less meddling, please. You already said it’s about the proportions, not the face. It's pretty clear you weren't actually interested in "seeing" who you were talking to in the first place.

Look, let me be crystal clear: I moderate this PDF exactly how I see fit. You can't just bypass the moderators and try to jump straight to an Admin without us weighing in first. It’s all laid out right there—you handle your own business, and you do it by the book.

I don't recall anyone actually having the authority to set a rule like, "Either post your photos or this thread gets locked." It’s not like this is the first time you've tried to escalate things just to get the whole thread locked down.

Have you actually seen this kind of idea being used in practice? Because I have, and let me tell you, it’s a total disaster. The number of complaints just skyrockets by like 500x.

There are plenty of forums out there that have already tried implementing this, and it's a complete non-starter—feel free to go check them out for yourself if you don't believe me.

People are posting links specifically to back up their points and prove this project is straight-up fascist, yet you just go ahead and delete them.

Look, being a moderator isn't supposed to be about playing censor or just sitting there waiting for an excuse to scrub anything you don't like under the guise of "spam" or "insults." 😁

You provided an answer describing the specific situation where you do this—but, you didn't really clarify (my apologies if I somehow missed it) the reasoning behind it. So, what is the actual purpose of joining them? What exactly is the benefit being achieved here?

Every once in a while, someone pops up and leaves 3 or 4 posts in a row that are just a single sentence long. And I'm not talking about a witty comeback or a "mwahahaha" or an "I agree." In those cases, I don't necessarily want to delete them (honestly, I only delete things when there's a glaring issue or a rule violation)—I just merge them to keep the thread from looking messy. I mostly do this when the posts are somewhat related, which happens all the time in super active threads.

I've never actually banned anyone; I've just sent people a private message letting them know they should probably take a quick look at the rules regarding MQ.

That’s what we call an *ad hominem* attack—an invalid argument where you stop debating the issue and start attacking the person instead. In formal logic, it's a total fallacy.
