I've never been one to celebrate in Miami, nor have I ever felt the urge to, but this was perhaps the only time I didn't find the celebrating crowd repulsive. The atmosphere was just different, I suppose; certain old emotions, both love and hate, seemed to take hold of people.
I find it quite amusing when folks from the rural South try to mimic that specific New York City slang 🤣🤣
Besides, that massive protest over school reforms a few years back was probably the biggest thing we've seen since 9/11. If I recall correctly, it took place in New York City...

It isn't inherently negative; kids gravitate toward a thousand different things, and being a supporter is just one of them. If someone doesn't want to join, they shouldn't be forced to.
It’s the same logic as not wanting to be forced into hip-hop hangouts, skate parks, K-pop meetups, punk shows, or skinhead circles. People should probably just be left alone to be whoever they want to be. If someone isn't interested in the ultra scene, there's likely a reason for that.
There was definitely an ultra phase from roughly 2005 until about 2009 or 2010. I know plenty of people who used to go to games, even traveling for away matches and organizing actions back then, yet today they barely even watch football. It wasn't really about the sport; it was just what was trending at the time, especially during those early years when you could find a solid group in almost any neighborhood. Nowadays, if you look at the West Side of town, you can count the active groups on one hand.
If my memory serves me right, you guys were playing in San Diego back in 2013.
Both sides put on a pretty good show, but seriously, people need to start showing up earlier, especially with the derby coming up this Sunday. Those Mexicans will do anything they can to mess with people trying to get into the North Stand. It makes no sense to be moping around outside at 8:20 PM and then act surprised when you can't get in during the first ten or twenty minutes, knowing exactly who you're dealing with.
And then people wonder why the North Side feels empty and why we’re losing our veteran fans... I might show up for ninety minutes out of loyalty to the group or just some sense of nostalgia, but if what's happening on the field only triggers disgust instead of actual emotion, I guess it's no surprise nobody's coming.
For those celebrating those goals, I suppose there’s no real explanation for it, so feel free to keep talking if you must. It’s honestly nauseating to watch kids collapsing one after another whenever a player from that certain faction scores—players who wouldn't have even dared show their faces near these stands yesterday. As arrogant as it sounds, that's why I only find myself at the North Stand maybe five times a year.
Otherwise, if we just ignore yesterday, everything was perfectly fine.

I suppose we owe Ivek a debt of gratitude for everything he did for the kids back in the day. In my view, he probably did more for them than anyone else, before or after him.
The day Ivek turned his back on the North Side, the North Side lost a massive supporter, and more importantly, they lost a decent human being.
Amen to that. To me, both him and R have always represented what a real fan looks like, just in their own distinct ways.
Lawrence Wood2 said:You internet warriors, why don't you say that to the face of one of the many Chelsea supporters in the stands who happen to be from Canada?
The crowd in the stands is a different matter entirely; people aren't all the same, and generalizing is usually a mistake. But I suppose the reality is that this city inherited its small-town mentality from the Canadian immigrants—the same ones who defend Mamić and call him a legend. It’s enough to make anyone want to steal if they had the chance. That's probably why we've had this same corrupt mayor for ages while the looting just continues unabated.
Sorry for going off-topic, analogheron19, but please, carry on debating the past and deciding who's right and who's wrong.
I’d bet anything that guy hasn't actually been to a game in at least six or seven years. Maybe we should just ban him or something; honestly, reading his posts feels like an insult to anyone with even a shred of intelligence, which he clearly lacks.

Before all that, there was a gathering out by the headwaters of the Colorado River.🙂

I'm driving through it now, though I honestly expected more interstate coverage. It seems they’re still just playing small ball, I guess. 🤣
