The top three from each advance, while the remaining two quarterfinal spots are awarded to those finishing below 3rd place who secured the highest number of tie-breaker points. The matchups will be structured as follows: 1. The group winner with the higher primary score (determined by tie-breakers such as secondary points, exact positioning, etc.) faces the runner-up from the other group's wildcards who had fewer secondary points than the other wildcard holder. 2. The group winner with the lower primary score faces the wildcard participant with the higher number of secondary points. 3. A2 vs B3 4. A3 vs B2
semifinals: 1. Match 1 vs Match 3 2. Match 2 vs Match 4

We’ve been dealing with some technical glitches lately. I believe they’ve been ironed out, though I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to resurface from time to time.
Just a quick technical observation: dropping links into posts from several hours ago doesn't actually prove anything. In fact, if it turns out these "examples" weren't previously flagged to the moderators as rule violations only to be ignored, then this behavior is nothing more than blatant trolling.
Busta has finally conceded on the requested criteria—specifically, that they cannot seek dismissal based on the fact that the motion was filed upon request, so I find myself in agreement with the demand.
There’s no need to bring this up in Politics; I wasn't asking you to do that. My point was simply that upon receiving the partial payment, one should waive the right to request a removal by acknowledging that the initial setup was made at their own request.
But honestly, never mind. It’s already been settled.
Well, if you had stated that you were waiving your right to request the removal of partials, I might have actually considered supporting your petition (which is precisely why that clause was included in the rules in the first place). As it stands? I won't.
As a general rule, there are no partial removals upon request. Frankly, there is little point in even asking, as it is widely expected that you will change your mind down the road and eventually demand its removal simply because it was posted at your own discretion. Therefore, if everything is truly under your control, perhaps exercise some self-control and refrain from posting on Politics.
I am going to go ahead and close this thread. I have no intention of weighing in on the specific details of the debate, as the substance itself is not my concern; however, I am quite dissatisfied with the manner in which this discussion has unfolded. Our objective is to maintain an Amtrak subforum that actually serves its intended purpose. For that to happen, we believe the conduct of all participants—both members and moderators alike—must remain civil and grounded in logic, rather than devolving into petty bickering and insults.
My thanks to those who will attempt a more respectful dialogue regarding these contentious issues in the future.
You’re still looking at this from the wrong angle. No one is going to sit you down every six months to explain why your parole is being extended; you simply have the right to petition for release once every six months. It would probably be wise to focus on convincing the parole board that if they grant your release, you won't immediately fall back into the exact same patterns that landed you in the system in the first place.
If that's your goal, you can always reach out to them again in six months and try to make a case for why you should be allowed back into society.
There isn't a general thread for grievances here. I’ve tried opening one a hundred times, and it always ends up being a total mess before you even get halfway through the second page. If you want to lodge a complaint regarding a very specific procedure or a particular individual, go right ahead. But this? This isn't going to work.
What exactly are we discussing here when it comes to fiction? Given that we find ourselves on a sports subforum dominated by a male audience: a series. Dark TowerStephen King penned the first installment of this series back when he was just a young man. From there, he released subsequent entries at varying intervals, stretching the entire saga out over roughly three decades. Because of that timeline, the series evolved significantly, becoming increasingly complex and polished as time went on. It’s ultimately a brilliant blend of Spaghetti Western tropes, fantasy elements, and post-apocalyptic grit. (I happen to have an e-book version sitting on my device if anyone is interested...)
Speaking of King, I find his novel to be absolutely fantastic. Bag of bones. Something truly remarkable, characterized by a slow, deliberate build that draws you deep into the narrative before reaching an absolutely brilliant climax.
It was a truly captivating novel. Transition Does anyone have any recommendations for those of us with a bit more stomach for the darker stuff? This particular series actually consists of two sequels, the most recent of which was released just last month. I’d say it's a must-read for the braver readers out there. 😁
Of the various sci-fi novels I’ve been working my way through lately, I suspect a few might find something to appreciate in Murakami's Hard-boiled wonderland and the end of the world—Joe might particularly enjoy it, though I imagine Mary would too. Murakami's Hard-boiled wonderland and the end of the worldIgnore the ridiculous title; this book is actually fantastic. It’s the perfect read for the kind of moody, cynical crowd we have here on the Formula 1 boards.
Decisions regarding the removal of partial bans are handled by the moderators of the specific PDF subforum where the request is being made (it functions identically to the banning process, just in reverse). I will reach out to them about this particular request; it’s entirely possible it slipped through the cracks. Since I am already addressing this, allow me one brief clarification for anyone who might need it: there is no such thing as an automatic expiration. Partial bans are permanent, not subject to a six-month reset. That timeframe is merely a suggested minimum period that must pass before a member can approach the moderators to attempt to negotiate their way back into the community.
William Bennett53, we have been over this multiple times now. You know full well that throwing accusations at clans without providing any actual, verifiable sources simply won't fly here. Let’s not waste our breath going through this same cycle again. 🙂
This thread feels quite biased and one-sided from the jump. If you’re intent on starting a discussion regarding the Fed, perhaps next time try moving away from the political rhetoric and instead provide actual links that support the imbalance you're implying.
Aha, I see. So there wasn't even a report filed via the little triangle icon? I would kindly ask that this be the standard procedure moving forward; failing to report an issue and then coming here to shout about the guidelines is simply an invitation for conflict.
In any case, I support the moderation action taken on the linked post, and with that, I wish to close this matter.
It isn't about deleting anything; even the links aren't working for me, yet I can still see the deleted posts. It looks like we’re in for another bout of forum-induced madness. By the way, Morgan Cook10, is it possible to redo this?
With all these technical glitches and uncertainties, who can truly say what went wrong? In any case, there was certainly no intention behind it. It is entirely possible that Tapatalk was acting up again somewhere along the line.
So, your rational approach essentially boils down to calling for the imprisonment of anyone who dares to disagree with you? And yet, regarding Unknown, you claim he’s done something egregious without providing a single link to any of these supposedly problematic or unpunished posts. That isn't how we handle topics on FEMA. If you have an issue with your own record, there is a specific section for Appeals above. If your grievance is actually about the criteria being applied inconsistently to favor others, then I suggest you provide some actual examples. I'm done.
Just two general points to clarify: - When you click that little flag icon, the report goes straight to the moderators of this specific subforum. In this instance, that means the moderators of the "Great American" subreddit. - We don't ask for links simply because we're feeling lazy or don't want to hunt them down ourselves. Rather, it’s because to actually evaluate a complaint, we need to see exactly what the user considers objectionable. After all, any moderator could argue that people often find the most absurd things offensive while viewing the truly problematic stuff as perfectly fine. Therefore, regardless of which subreddit we're discussing, an appeal must include both a clear explanation and a direct link to the behavior in question.
I ask that everyone continues to follow this protocol here as well.
Well, essentially, a wave of hooliganism from some unruly crowd has caused absolute chaos across the forum threads. The moderators and supermoderators are doing everything within their power to de-escalate the tension and try to get things back under control. For now, at least.
