darkhawk, let’s backtrack for a moment and lay this out clearly: - you posted in a thread using a tone the moderator deemed inappropriate, which led to your posts being removed. - you did the right thing by coming here to formally appeal the moderator's decision. - the moderator responded and provided their justification. - you weren't satisfied with that explanation, so you went ahead and doubled down on your own perspective. - since we ended up in a private session, I stepped in to halt the debate and explained that we would be seeking a ruling from a higher authority.
so now, we wait. how is that, Rock? despite everything that has been said about you here, you remain silent because that is what was requested—just as I am remaining quiet, even though I am eager to see this resolved. We are all hoping the head moderator can step in very soon, but frankly, talk of "emergencies" is just empty noise. You haven't been banned; you are free to post, even within that controversial thread itself. The only real restriction is that until the head moderator provides a final ruling, you should probably adjust your discourse to meet the requested standards.
Therefore, I ask once more for your necessary patience.
Nothing is truly lost here. You haven't been banned, and frankly, this is more of a conceptual matter than an urgent one. No one stands to lose anything; in fact, everyone stands to benefit if they can exercise just a little more patience while we wait for a highly skilled and deeply knowledgeable supermod to arrive. 👍
Alright, thanks, darkhawk. The appeal has been received and thoroughly reviewed. Now, we simply wait for the senior moderator to weigh in.
edit While we wait on the supermod, just one quick correction: today’s brief ban was an error, but it wasn't a mistake on Rock's part. Perhaps we could all be a bit more careful about pointing fingers without cause.
I am truly sorry you had to wait this long for a response... I suspect Sam Green73 simply lost track of the thread after it drifted toward the bottom of the subforum, so it is quite unfortunate you didn't drop by sooner to revive it. That being said, the tone of your previous post was rather uncalled for, and a delayed reply doesn't serve as an excuse for it. I would ask that you please mind your language in future posts.
Dear Tyler Cruz32, I find myself mourning a friend during this somber hour. Dark clouds seem to be gathering above us, threatening to bring our linear existences to an abrupt end. Would it not be best if we simply stepped away from this storm of bullets brewing at Tamburelo, and instead savored everything wonderful that the remaining time we have left might still offer us?
rustydrifter10 said:Vilko isn't getting unbanned. It wasn't just a matter of an well-meaning older gentleman spamming because he didn't know any better; his approach was far more destructive. I truly feel for his health issues and the personal struggles he's facing—I wish nothing but the best for him and his family—but that doesn't give him a pass to tear down this forum and insult other users.
Since this thread is closed, we won't be discussing him or his biases any further.
Vilko, there’s nothing left to say. Please refrain from any further spamming in this thread.
Maybe we should hire Tyler Bennett5 as security for your little relaxation retreat, honey. 😍 But listen, if any guy ever makes a move against you, just let me know. I'll make sure he ends up as powerless as an eunuch in some ancient Eastern harem. 😉
Wasn't there supposed to be a new episode tonight? 🙂🙂 Now I'm sitting here feeling just as frustrated as TBF when Red Bull runs out of steam right at the finish line.
@IlluminatusX - I suggest you take another look at the response you received to your initial inquiry. You’ve arrived at this sub-forum with a list of grievances, all after flagging a post to the moderators and finding them unresponsive. Yet, you are essentially a newcomer here—with a mere 22 posts to your name—and somehow, you already presume to know exactly what everyone's job entails and how they ought to perform it. To be even more striking, you managed to violate the very guidelines provided to you by your third post in this thread. We simply cannot operate this way.
Yes, per the community guidelines, insulting other users is strictly prohibited. However, we have to acknowledge that people—and forum members specifically—often hold wildly different perspectives on what actually constitutes an insult versus what falls under acceptable discourse. This becomes particularly complicated in the politics section, where discussions tend to trigger much more intense emotional responses than, say, a thread about hobbies or tech.
When you spot someone violating these rules, simply report them by clicking the small triangle icon located at the bottom left of their post. Given that the Politics subforum is massive and generates an incredible volume of content, it is unrealistic to expect moderators to manually catch every single offensive comment the moment it goes live. By using the report function, you are effectively flagging problematic content for review. Once reported, the moderation team is given roughly a 24-hour window to assess the situation and take action. If you find that there has been no response after that period, you are welcome to return here and submit a specific inquiry regarding that particular post. At that point, a moderator will step in to explain the reasoning behind why the post was or was not sanctioned.
One final note: when making such an inquiry, please ensure your post includes a clear, descriptive title, following the standard formatting used throughout the rest of the site.
Just watch your step... because if you slip up, instead of walking away with a stunning concubine, you’ll end up paying a dollar for an umbrella, a lighter, a fan, a scarf, a condom, and a compass—all bundled together for fifty cents.
So, what else is there to say? Are you just sitting there dabbing at your neckline with a silk handkerchief? 😍 Am I being too harsh on him? If I'm not, then someone please call an exorcist. ☕
Personally, I think sticking to smaller avatars is perfectly fine. They don't distract from the actual content, which helps prevent this forum from turning into a fragmented mess of Facebook-style visual clutter. That said, perhaps a slight increase in dimensions—similar to what we used to have when 75x75 was the limit—wouldn't be such a bad idea.
But look, I’m also seeing the same 75x75 restriction on my end, and I haven't heard anything about anyone else having different settings. I'm not saying it's impossible for someone to have more leeway, but I haven't run into that yet, and I doubt it applies to the moderators in general. 😉
I suppose I’ve finally reached peak masculinity. I can now hold a cigarette in my mouth without using my hands, all while laughing my head off at the top of my lungs. oh Tyler Cruz32... 🙂
