Pros and Cons of Sebastian Vettel in Formula 1 ·

In this podcast, Newey touches on the comparison between Hamilton and Webber.
It starts at the 9-minute mark.

Copied an ad about hanging out and grabbing coffee...

Hey, NYC. Regarding the subject, I’ve got a job that treats me alright and plenty of free time on my hands. Honestly, I just want to meet some new people and fill a bit of those gaps in my weekly schedule. I won't go into way too much detail about myself, but here's the gist: I enjoy good company, deep conversations, movies, great food, walking, cycling, and music. I stay informed on world events, so it's no big deal if we don't see eye-to-eye on social or political issues. We can just chat about it, or you can send me a link to a good article—I'm always happy to read. I value opinions, reasoned criticism, emotion, and empathy. Don't be shy about showing who you are. I'm not one for drama; I prefer keeping things simple. To me, companionship should be easygoing without all the overthinking, so people can actually connect. Bye!
Tattoo advice and inspiration in Health ·
Yeah, for those first few weeks, you really want to let the tattoo breathe as much as possible—just keep it in the open air without any film over it. Just make sure you stay out of the direct sun!
A Simple Plan (1998) in Movies ·
Acting, pure acting—that’s really all I can think about when this movie comes to mind.

Truly stellar performances 😁
Sunshine (2007) in Movies ·
It’s a solid Film, though I felt the momentum start to drag once the villain was introduced.
I also found it frustrating that so much of the story relied on CGI, mostly because it forced these supposedly expert astronauts to make such amateur mistakes. Once or twice is fine, but it happened way too often for my liking.
Inside Llewyn Davis (2013) in Movies ·
I think it’s a solid film.
Once you realize who this character is, you don't really expect much more from him. To me, the movie does a great job of capturing exactly what we should expect from Llewyn.
That said, I felt like it missed a chance to show what actually drives him. Since the story covers such a narrow window of time, you’re basically just dropped into the middle of things, and you see what you see. I think adding a bit of dialogue to Llewyn's speech—maybe a brief flashback to his past—would have helped us understand what truly pushed him toward this life as a struggling folk musician.
This Is England in Movies ·
It’s a decent enough movie. It hits you hard because it’s so violent, fast-paced, and loud—there’s always this intense, raw expression happening on screen.
Even so, I felt it lacked some real depth. Then again, if you look at it through the eyes of a kid, which I suppose makes sense, you aren't necessarily looking for deep philosophical dilemmas or complex inner monologues. You just see what's happening to him in real-time.
There are some heavy scenes that might feel a bit over the top, but that's just the nature of the film.
Personally, I didn't really need the character of Comov. They could have portrayed the skinhead scene in a much more grounded way. For me, he was just a bit much.
I’m looking for some advice regarding an Achilles tendon rupture. It’s a 90% tear, if that matters for the following questions. Is it generally recommended to take blood thinners in this situation?
Also, in my opinion, would it be better to go through with surgery for a tear like this, or should I try to avoid it?
Best regards!

That was a phenomenal performance. It’s just a shame his success got overshadowed by yesterday’s qualifying match.
The latest sector times are in.

wiredseal7 said:It’s the same old story—a qualifying deficit. But they already mentioned they're running the Spec-4 engine, which we've seen used before. They might be saving the best stuff for the big race at Indianapolis where the new fuel arrives, or maybe they just reverted to an older setup today?

Since Max Verstappen was basically destined to start six spots back—maybe even nine in the end—it's more about the race trim and long-run pace. Still, being 0.6 seconds behind isn't exactly nothing. If he manages a clean getaway and clears those three Renault-powered cars early on, he could find himself right on the tail of the Mercedes-Benz cars on 😁 mediums. Otherwise, he might fall victim to his trademark poor starts and that tendency to dive into Turn 1 from the outside.

Tactically, this should be a fascinating race. Beyond the frontrunners, don't forget the TR and Red Bull Racing cars sitting at the back of the pack; they'll likely carve through the midfield just for a bit of early excitement.

Articles from the last few days were all claiming an upgraded Spec-4 was arriving for Indianapolis, but clearly, according to Max, that isn't the case.
Gary Palmer8 said:Let's see... Ferrari 1, Ferrari 2, Red Bull 1, Red Bull 2, then Mercedes 1 and 2.

Honestly, looking at this ranking, I have to think the fifth spot is just a joke. It actually worries me a bit that this kind of logic hasn't crossed anyone's mind yet. Maybe I set my expectations too high when I was back in college...

First off, Red Bull isn't better than Mercedes.

Don't judge Mercedes based on Valtteri Bottas.
Red Bull gave us some false hope back on Friday. Some articles suggested it might be due to new engine components, but over the weekend, the team—and Max specifically—clarified that while there were minor tweaks to the engine, nothing significant changed regarding its actual power output.
So, seeing that gap in qualifying isn't really a shocker; everything is pretty much where we left it.

Regarding Lewis Hamilton in Monaco—I can't recall exactly how they handled penalties back then, but I’d have handed him a 10-second penalty right then and there.

For the Lewis Hamilton/Sirotkin situation, it should have been a back-of-the-grid start. Anything less than that is too light.

Then you have the Mercedes-Benz/Lewis Hamilton penalty in Germany, where they had to pit. It was such a mess—one minute they're in the pits, the next they aren't. Just pure chaos. 🤣

A.) braked
B.) avoided Vettel

If Lewis hadn't been there, there wouldn't have been a penalty, regardless of what Vettel was doing...
Also, if Lewis hadn't braked, hadn't avoided Vettel, and most importantly, if Mercedes hadn't filed an appeal, there still wouldn't have been a penalty...

I’m not sure if you realized this, but...
you just listed all the exact reasons why Vettel deserved the penalty.

It would have been better if they hadn't told him. He could have kept driving without being weighed down by all those endless calculations and mental math.

Would it have been better if they hadn't told him? 🤣
Where else can you find better motivation than knowing you can climb even higher if you just pick up the pace?
What if Charles Leclerc had driven a few laps slower and still finished only a second or two behind? Would he still be arguing that they shouldn't have given him those instructions? It seems pretty obvious that if he were driving for Ferrari, they wouldn't have told him a thing.
Honestly, their pit wall completely lost the plot there. They totally missed it. 🤣
It’s really no surprise that Mercedes-Benz keeps handing them their heads year after year.

🤣

It really doesn't matter if he was pushing at his absolute limit regardless of knowing the situation. Not communicating that to the driver behind him who’s hunting them down is just a slap in the face. 😁

Sebastian Vettel's behavior after the race is honestly a comedy routine.
If Max Verstappen had pulled a stunt like that, everyone would be laughing at him. Instead, we ended up with a hero, a patriot, a fighter—basically a racing version of Robin Hood or Che Guevara.

Down here at the exit, Hamilton has full control over his car, which actually makes things harder for him.

Exactly.
They were pretty generous toward Lewis by not handing him a penalty. 🙂
Mercedes-Benz just has incredible traction. They shoot out of the corners like a rocket.
