I decided to move this over from Appeals since it covers more than just the card issues. Let’s keep this as its own separate thread...

I also drink green tea—especially when I'm out at a coffee shop—because coffee honestly makes me want to barf. Now, I just ordered some green coffee bean capsules because I'm trying to drop some weight (and please, don't come at me with the "just go for a run" or "watch your portions" lecture). Plus, I read they provide a boost of energy, which is desperately needed since I'm constantly exhausted, sleepy, and sleeping way too much. I'm low-key counting down the days until these arrive, hoping for some magic weight loss 😍 and a bit of alertness. (Just a heads up: nothing has worked for me before, from Guaraná and Red Bull to some expensive stuff I bought $33 at CVS to help me focus while studying.)
Now that I've dumped all that on you, what are the side effects of mixing caffeine with the meds I'm on? The only thing I can think of is even worse jitters and shaky hands.
Thanks for any insight.🤷

I don't believe the medication itself is the culprit behind the scale moving up. Rather, isn't it more likely that the weight change is just a byproduct of shifts happening within the brain? We end up gaining—or losing—weight because our subconscious habits shift, leading us to either overeat or eat poorly.
The drugs themselves aren't capable of making someone gain or lose weight on their own.
I mean, if you were swallowing 18 pounds of pills, sure, that would explain something! But at the dosages we are actually prescribed? It’s simply impossible.
Certain antipsychotics can trigger intense cravings for sweets or salty snacks, and people just start devouring everything in sight—just like I do, for instance, with ice cream. 🙂
I have been on various antidepressants for nearly twenty years now—some of them have been around practically forever and aren't even on the market anymore—and yet, my weight has remained relatively stable throughout the whole ordeal.
Ultimately, the variable is us, isn't it? It’s about our own behavior, not the medicine.

Regardless... if there are minor issues similar to what you mentioned, let’s set those aside for a moment.
The real issue is that I can't even eat an apple without staring at a monitor; it's baffling to me that no one else has come forward with this exact struggle—it seems impossible that no one else relates to this.
I realize that most kids these days live their lives in front of a computer, but please—you younger people—speak up and share your experiences or thoughts. It might help me; feel free to reach out privately as well.
This started even before I had a PC—back when I would sit in front of the TV to eat—but this is worse. I used to have some sense of moderation, but now I've lost all control; I just eat as long as the movie is playing, shoving whatever is within reach into my mouth—sweet, salty... My weight reflects this reality, and how could it not, given that I eat regular meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—plus all this sugar and snacking. On any given day, I probably consume four or five pounds of chocolate and cookies, perhaps more, because I eat at my desk at work, and I don't even count what I do at home while watching a film. I'll buy an entire cheesecake and finish it during a single movie... I know it isn't healthy, which is why I am searching for a way to help myself.
I've tried various methods. One was attempting to eat nothing but breakfast all day, but I gave up after a few days because the cravings became overwhelming. I also tried not eating in front of the computer, but then I lose my appetite entirely and can't eat anything—my stomach cramps, and I simply can't manage it...
I enjoy sitting here and eating while watching movies, mostly because it feels good to be as far away from my coworkers and everyone else as possible. I pull the blinds so I don't have to see anyone, shut the windows, and crank the volume on the film so I don't have to hear them—I have no desire to listen to their mindless chatter and nonsense. I don't communicate with anyone in my apartment building, except for a brief "hello" as I pass by. It's the same at work, though occasionally two colleagues I actually get along with will ask me to grab coffee, and we'll sit and drink.
My days pass like an hour; by the time I get home from work, I'm on the computer late into the night. I'm not even doing anything productive—it's just important to me that I'm online on Facebook or somewhere else, just to feel alive. I click aimlessly through icons or play games until my eyes turn bloodshot, and then I go to sleep, always waking up exhausted.
Does anyone have any advice or an opinion?
Jamie Martin37 said:Hey, anyone here experienced with antidepressants? I’ve got a quick question 🙂
So, I'm currently on Prozac, but I totally blanked on asking my psychiatrist something during my last checkup... basically, I was thinking about drinking more green tea because my skin has been acting up lately. I already know I have to stay away from alcohol and try to cut back on caffeine, but does that rule apply to all kinds of tea too? Besides St. John's Wort—which I definitely know is a no-go—is there anything else I should watch out for?

posting private messages"
It seems the rules don't apply to everyone equally...
electricstag16 said:Will swifttiger75 be sanctioned for sharing private messages? I'm curious...
Is this actually true? It isn't mentioned in the guidelines. The rules say "posting private messages," but they don't specify someone else's.
But, as everyone here already knows, the rules don't seem to apply to you.

It’s just a solid habit and a healthy lifestyle.
