It doesn't have to be a surprise; a partial ban can be announced publicly ahead of time.

The supermod claims those moderators gave you a heads-up that your access would be restricted.
An admin will review your appeal. Just hang tight for a bit, please...

Yeah, a partial ban usually comes with a heads-up, either through a private message or a warning posted on a specific thread.

Rather than laughing at that excuse—which might lead to some surprises later on, much like what we're seeing now—I’d suggest you take a moment to actually read the Reddit rules. That goes for the lady above her as well, who seems intent on twisting the facts...

Rebecca Harris said:I don't really care who got banned or why, but what you wrote caught my eye. So, am I allowed to just tell someone: Your mother is a slut. and not get flagged, simply because I doubt anyone's mom actually has a profile on Reddit? 😳

Did I get that right?

The mother might not have an account, but that user does, and calling someone's mother a slut is pretty insulting. So—yes, you'll get banned. You could even get banned here right now if you keep playing dumb. That’s against the rules too...😉
We simply can't provide medical diagnoses online.

The religion section is just a bit further down, and you'll find several threads there already tackling this exact topic.
As a side note, we generally don't care for discussions that start by labeling an entire group of people without offering anything more substantial than "I think" or "in my opinion"... those aren't really welcome here.

vividcrane21 said:I’m being totally serious here, though. If he’s going on about demons and parasites and all that, clearly doctors aren't cutting it. Why don't you suggest he spends some time at a church? Or maybe find him a spot at a farmstead where he can trade some hard work for room and board? There's something about honest labor that clears the head. And honestly, who knows, maybe he actually needs an exorcist? 🙂

Jokes aside, I’m not exactly a traditional believer and I don't know much about religious customs, so I'm not sure if that's even a thing people do (though I don't see why it wouldn't be). I know a guy I used to know who found a lot of peace through a religious community, but don't ask me for specifics because I really don't have those details handy. But seriously, why not just ask him what he's talking about? Like, how does he breathe? Who knows, maybe he really would find some peace and salvation in a church. If his mom has him worked up this much, he'll probably figure out who to turn to anyway...

Anyway, good luck. It's obvious you're a good person and a solid friend, but just watch out—don't let his craziness pull you under. He needs someone steady, someone who can be there constantly, and with your job and family commitments, I don't think you should take that risk.

He needs to start taking his medication consistently instead of just once a month, and then we can worry about spiritual healing. Those "demons" will certainly vanish once he actually follows medical advice... 😉

I assume they'll need some input from someone close to him to get the full picture before deciding on a treatment plan. It's nothing unusual, and typically these conversations don't happen all at once. (Aside from you being called, though that's fine—he rejected everyone else in the family anyway, which isn't strictly necessary...)
If things happen simultaneously, just follow through with your plan to call back whenever you feel unable to give an honest answer in the moment.

Don't try to argue with him about his stories; he's experiencing psychosis right now and his perception of reality is distorted. Challenging him will only make him feel misunderstood, and clearly, he views you as a trusted confidant. You won't win him over by trying to prove him wrong.

Wishing you the best of luck tomorrow. I know this isn't easy for you...

I'd honestly rather just switch to the capsules right away because this liquid version is just awful—it burns my throat so badly. Also, has anyone experienced side effects from the Prozac capsules? Specifically, frequent urination? I know it’s all very individual, I guess.

This thread is mostly just about Prozac. It isn't huge, but you might find something helpful in there...

Carl Bishop2 said:For instance—take a situation where a kid lives in their parents' house, or maybe they have their own place nearby—do the parents hold all the decision-making power, or does the child have some level of autonomy too? I mean, obviously, what her parents think about it is pretty clear-cut, but is that approach actually aligned with modern parenting standards and psychological best practices today?

This question is directed at the author since this is her topic. There hasn't been a response from her yet, and what you mentioned above definitely isn't something we can gather from her previous posts.

Author, please clarify the actual subject here. It’s hard to tell what your goal is, and until you define it, everyone else is just guessing how to contribute... assuming you still want our input. If you don't, feel free to just lock the thread.

rabbit, I get it—it’s tough when you have a fixation on this topic and just can't help yourself from dropping by to troll so pathetically. Unfortunately, we can't offer you much help here. However, we can ease your suffering... next time you feel that unbearable itch to clutter this thread, we'll just ban you permanently. Sound fair? I thought so. Glad we're on the same page.

It’s honestly heartbreaking to see moderators like the one overseeing the tourism section even holding a position here. In my eyes, a moderator who openly insults forum members has hit rock bottom.
To make matters worse—though I can't provide a specific instance because it happens so systematically—regular users who aren't professional vacation rental owners are denied access to certain threads, as if those discussions are strictly reserved for landlords, much like this one.
Does the supermoderator, or even you, truly look at how these moderators conduct themselves?

That's one way to look at it—but then we aren't really looking to resolve anything. If you actually wanted a response, you would've provided the links.

I'll say it again: please provide the links. It's clearly stated in the rules of this PDF and is a standard part of any appeal; without them, this thread isn't properly opened. We need to see the actual issue to address it. If there's no interest in finding a solution, fine, the thread will be locked because a discussion like this serves no purpose.

Please post the link(s). And do take a moment to review the rules in this PDF regarding how appeals should be filed.

Please don't import discussions from Newsweek over to this PDF; that isn't what this space is for.

I’m locking this thread. Those involved will be notified about the appeal and given a chance to respond. If necessary, we can reopen the topic for further discussion regarding moderation...
Alright, now that we've had our little lesson in English grammar and all this bickering, let's just take a breather. Let's get the focus back on the author and her actual situation. Please, stop projecting things onto her that she didn't say, and quit assuming details about her relationships that aren't there. She was quite clear about what kind of help she’s looking for and what she wants to discuss here.

Daniel Gomez10 said:It's basically that confirmation saying, "I confirm this patient under my care has or hasn't been diagnosed with chronic conditions."
It feels like it's mostly up to the doctor's discretion how much detail they decide to include.

As for the Medicare regulations regarding private practitioners, all I can say is 🙂
I'll have to look into that a bit more.

Doesn't the certification just state whether someone is fit or unfit for a specific job? (Since Occupational Health eventually issues the final clearance based on the primary physician's report detailing existing illnesses.)
I don't think we should be handing over a full list of diagnoses directly to an employer. All they really need to know is if the person can perform the job. They shouldn't be able to decipher medical codes anyway, and more importantly, it's not their place to decide. Plus, being that transparent could easily open the door to workplace discrimination based on health status...

Now I'm second-guessing myself, but I'd like to think that isn't the case.

Some colleagues on the Medical Forum went over this relatively recently. If I remember correctly, I'll try to dig up the thread and post the link here...
