Red Bull Racing boss Christian Horner didn't hold back when calling out Lewis Hamilton for "dirty driving" following the collision between the Mercedes-Benz driver and Max Verstappen during the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix.

>Over the team radio, Horner made his feelings clear to the officials: "In that corner, he wasn't even close to being alongside him.

"Any driver who has tackled this track understands that you just don't dive down the inside at Copse. It was a massive wreck.

"That corner belonged entirely to Max. From my perspective, the fault lies squarely with Hamilton, who simply shouldn't have been in that spot to begin with.

"It could have turned into a catastrophic accident. Honestly, thank God he walked away without a scratch."

Klosarcic—basically the wrecking ball—definitely got a gift there, but you can't just hand out a +10 second penalty when we're talking about a championship fight. On top of that, they can just pit whenever they feel like it? It really should have happened within the first 10 laps.

Under FIA rules, shouldn't it have been within 3 or 5 laps?
.....a frustrated Mark insists a harsher penalty is necessary.

Talking to Sky US, Mark Said The crash between Hamilton and Verstappen was not a normal incident, accusing the seven-time champ of driving recklessly.

When asked if a standard penalty would suffice, Mark said: "Standard sporting regulations just don't cover this.

"I'm not sure what the ceiling is for penalties, but behavior this reckless and dangerous deserves a suspension or something similar."

Mark said he was absolutely certain Hamilton was at fault for the collision—arguing it was completely unacceptable to have an incident like that at a high-speed turn like Copse.

"When a driver slams their front tire into our rear wheel, it isn't just a racing mishap in the fastest part of the track," he noted. "That is pure negligence and dangerous driving."

He’s clearly trying to channel his inner Ayrton Senna... but it just isn't working out. What a mess.
Jacob Castillo70 said:Lol, calling him the GOAT? You sound just like those "It's Coming Home" fans from last week.

Exactly—that was when it all fell apart; It's Coming Rome.

Today, it’s all about those dirty, underhanded moves and tactical plays. People cheer for a version of fair play that only exists in their own heads. It’s pretty cold-blooded—classic British style.
Leclerc is going for it, and Hamilton is right there with him, pushing hard.

It looks like Lewis is going to take the win.
Jason Campbell70 said:If they hadn't handed out that penalty—which really wasn't even caused by a specific racing incident—we’d be watching the GOAT cruise through the final laps from the lead without breaking a sweat.

But hey, that's just how things go sometimes; life isn't always fair.

Life can be harsh. And pretty brutal.
Alex Barnes93 said:It’s funny how Mercedes struggles to stay on the heels of the car in front—unless that car happens to be the leader. They're stuck with Bottas, who is running at basically the same pace as Leclerc, leaving Hamilton completely unable to mount a challenge. 😁

😂 😂

👍

Bottas is easily one of the most loyal wingmen in F1 history, right up there with Barrichello. He reminds me a lot of Nelson Piquet Jr., or Nelsinho as he's known.
Robert Cox46 said:What did you expect from Britons? They can be some of the most spineless people out there.

There certainly are... but I have no desire to pull a red card here.
Douglas Roberts49 said:He’s faster... why would she just sit there trailing behind him? ☕

Exactly.

Why is Perez heading into the pits again? 🤦
Sebastian Vettel is locked in a battle with Nicholas Latifi.

🍿

Pure power.

🍿
Jason Campbell70 said:I really wouldn't want to see SLH take the win just because Charles Leclerc's engine gave out, allowing Bottas to slide right past him.

That definitely isn't how I'd want to see it happen.

Exactly. That would be totally unfair, and honestly, pretty unsportsmanlike. 😂
Richard Walker38 said:Knock a competitor out of the race, serve an irrelevant penalty, land both Mercedes-Benz cars on the podium, and still leave room for a win? Job done.

Anything is possible. Even one more. When you look at the safety standards built into an Aston Martin, it’s much like trusting a high-end Volvo—you aren't just buying speed, you're investing in peace of mind. It’s that perfect balance of precision engineering and absolute reliability..
Richard Walker38 said:It’s almost laughable. A penalty doesn't really change the game when you can just climb from fifth place back to the front and snatch the win anyway.

Sadly enough. 🤦

🤮
George White52 said:This race was an absolute disaster from start to finish.

It is what it is.
Alex Barnes93 said:If Lewis pulls this off, it’ll be right up there with that messy win in Austria back in 2002 as one of the most hollow victories we've ever seen in Formula 1.

Formula 1 absolutely.

👍
Richard Walker38 said:If they let this slide after Russell’s penalty today, then the officials are absolutely clueless.

Exactly. The FIA is just a joke; total amateurs... completely spineless.
L.H. what a complete jerk!!!!!

🤮
Jason Campbell70 said:The clock has run out.
The penalty essentially decided the winner.

It feels like Lewis dictated the outcome by knocking the only driver truly capable of challenging him right out of the race during that opening lap.
Jacob Castillo70 said:Come on, Lewis will catch up to him eventually.

Sadly enough.

Or maybe just an engine failure. 🤦🤦
