Thanks for all the input, everyone!🙂 Honestly, I’ve been dealing with this mess all morning and it's driving me nuts, so I'm just going to head to my doctor tomorrow to be safe. I also picked up some herbal tea at the drugstore—hopefully that does the trick. The label says I can't have any fruit juices or Vitamin C while I'm drinking it, which is just great, right? Just what I needed.
Jacob Wood9 said:Look, you don't need to worry about that. Everyone on this forum is basically a top-tier diagnostic expert.😬

I mean, there’s probably someone here who actually knows what they're talking about. It’s not like I need to rush out to the ER or anything. I highly doubt I’m going to drop dead by tomorrow morning. 😁
Ugh, okay, so I’ve been dealing with this annoying little issue for the last couple of days. Every single time I go to the bathroom, I get this sharp, burning sensation in my lower abdomen—like, way down below my belly button 😳. It lingers for maybe ten minutes before finally chilling out, but it’s driving me nuts. Usually, if this happens, it’s just a one-day thing and I move on with my life, but now we’re hitting day three and it's getting old fast. Should I just stick to some cranberry juice or something, or am I looking at a trip to the doctor? 😲

161/58 Honestly, it could be doing better. On its absolute best days, we’re looking at 52. But you know how it goes... the Feds are doing their thing and messing everything up...😳

It’s one of those merino wool ones from Patagonia. My mom actually picked them up at one of those exhausting, high-pressure sales presentations—you know the type—but honestly? They were worth every single penny! (And before anyone asks, I’m not being paid to 🙂 here!)

For like three years straight, I was obsessed with sleeping on these absolutely massive, oversized pillows, and let me tell you—every single morning I’d wake up with my neck feeling like it had been through a car wreck. Now? I finally switched to one of those thinner, firmer ones (maybe around 4 inches thick), and honestly, it’s been a total game-changer!
I haven't quite mastered the art of sleeping without any support, though. If I don't have a pillow under my head, I just end up shoving my hand under my skull instead. 😉
I get that what you eat matters, but I honestly don't see why you're stressing out so much about this. If you're just constantly overstuffing your stomach, that’s obviously going to be an issue.

Since you mentioned you're eating huge volumes, I'm guessing it's mostly low-calorie stuff, like tons of veggies or whatever.
Honestly, maybe try cutting back on those massive salads that just bloat you up without actually making you feel full. You need to eat things that actually stick to your ribs for a while—maybe grab a little more chicken, some beans, or some whole grains instead.

I went through this phase where I was absolutely obsessed with counting every single calorie, and it was driving me insane. I finally got my life together once I stopped obsessing over the numbers and just started eating real food—you know, ditching the mindless snacking and the candy bars... and actually listening to my stomach instead of just eating with my eyes. 😁
velvetwolf92 said:The title pretty much sums it up. I am not fat. I don't consider myself fat, and I have zero desire to lose weight.
I just eat massive portions. I stay right around 1800 calories, which is what I've figured out keeps me at my current weight. I stick to three meals a day. The thing is, I don't stop eating when I actually feel full or satisfied. Instead, I just tell myself stuff like, "Oh, come on, it’s not even that much," or "I better stuff my face now so I’m not starving later."
That said, late at night—usually after 9 PM—I rarely eat anything, even if I'm feeling insanely hungry. During the day, though, I'm rarely ever truly hungry; instead, I start getting the shakes (maybe a hypoglycemic crash?), and I know it happens about 2-3 hours after a meal if I haven't eaten something substantial.
I realize I'm probably overloading my digestive system. I stopped snacking between meals partly because I'm taking a bunch of homeopathic remedies that I have to take 3 or 4 times a day—some half an hour before food, some an hour before... It's a whole ordeal.
Another reason I avoid snacking is that I'm terrified of losing control and ending up five pounds heavier because I know myself—if I start grazing, I won't be able to stop.
Honestly, when I stick to those three meals, I’m perfectly happy and content; it's just that sometimes I overdo it on the volume (even if the calories stay the same). And there is absolutely no way I'm skipping a meal—I need to eat every 4 or 5 hours just to function like a normal human being.

So, why am I bingeing on volume, and how do I make it stop?

If I'm reading this correctly...

You're saying you go overboard on the amount but not the actual calories? That sounds physically impossible to me unless you're basically drinking a gallon of water with every meal.😁

You say you're hitting about 1800 calories a day, which is totally normal, and you say you function fine that way... so why are you even stressing out about it? 🙄

Find a hobby or something and try to get over this food obsession.
Betty Rivera14 said:Just Google 'genitourinary tract infections' and see if you can figure out what they told you.😁

I'm just going to call him first thing Monday morning and make him dictate everything letter by letter so I can actually search for it properly! Honestly, who knows what kind of mess I've got going on!😢 My sister did tell me "it’s nothing serious," though. That’s the one little thing keeping me sane right now!😁
Betty Rivera14 said:Honestly, I wouldn't have even stepped foot out of that doctor's office until they gave me a specific name for the little alien living inside my uterus.

Look, I did ask him, but he just gave me this vague description and I didn't end up panicking as much as I should have. At the time, I was totally lost because I've never dealt with any kind of bacterial issues before, so yeah, I was a little freaked out. I think he actually mentioned the name, but honestly, those Latin names just go right over my head...
I figured maybe if someone knew which specific bacteria we were talking about, they might know if that medication actually works for it. 😁
I’m honestly at my wit's end here. I have to take this stuff tomorrow morning, but I have to get behind the wheel and drive! How on earth am I supposed to deal with this? What should I do? Is it actually okay if I take it a little bit later in the day? (Even though I know the timing is supposed to be exact)

Also, does anyone actually know what kind of bacteria we're even talking about here...
I tried asking my OBGYN, but he just gave me some vague answer about how it's normally just sitting there, but then it starts multiplying whenever your immune system takes a hit or if you go too long without a period. He didn't even bother telling me the actual name of it! 😕
Betty Rivera14 said:No, actually Efloran is just the same thing as metronidazole.

,

That’s exactly what I thought too, which is why I ended up getting all mixed up at the end. 😳

I only just started taking everything today. I think Scott Allen10 totally misunderstood me—or maybe I was just being super confusing when I wrote it. (Honestly, I can't even blame him!) 😉

Thanks everyone! Hopefully I'll feel a bit more human tomorrow. Today was an absolute disaster! And ugh, I still have to survive ten whole days of this! 😢
Scott Allen10 said:I can't speak for the Utrogestan, but I’m pretty sure you can safely ditch the Efloran.
Ten days of Efloran is plenty of time to see if anything actually works, assuming whatever is causing the issue is sensitive to metronidazole.
Honestly, there’s zero point in dragging out an antibiotic course longer than ten days if you aren't seeing results.

So, my take? Stick with the gynecological stuff and cut the antibiotic. But hey, that’s just my two cents...

Wait, is Efloran supposed to be another name for Utrogestan, or what? Like, what's the connection?
I am completely lost here and honestly don't get it at all. Please explain!

Anyway, I called 911—well, okay, I called the nurse line—and they basically told me to go check the medical journals. Then I called Dr. Petrov's office, and they said I just need to space them out a bit (like, wait half an hour after eating something) before taking the Metronidazole since it's "tough on the stomach."

God, my head is spinning now. I was so freaking panicked! And I don't even know why I was making such a big deal out of it. This morning I took them both together and felt totally fine.
Betty Rivera14 said:Honestly, in my town, you don't even need to go looking for answers. If you just dial 911, you can get the scoop on pretty much everything.

Honestly, it didn't even cross my mind. I was so focused on everything else that I completely missed it! 😵 I'm out of here! Peace out! Thanks, Betty Rivera14! 🙂
So, I went ahead and asked my OB-GYN about this, and they gave me the green light to take them both at the same time. I actually just started taking them today.

I was reading up on how to boost the effectiveness, and it says here:
Cimetidine slows down how the liver processes metronidazole, which can end up bumping up the levels of metronidazole in your bloodstream.
Betty Rivera14 said:If you're feeling this bad and things are actually scaring you, just call the OB/GYN clinic and ask to speak with the doctor on call.

Look, I have zero clue how to even find their number, and honestly, I don't even know which hospital has someone on duty right now...
I mean, the dizziness has calmed down a little bit, but I still feel like I should probably make the call just to be safe. If anyone out there knows the right numbers to call or where I can dig them up, please, let me know! 😢
So, here’s the deal: I’m currently on Progesterone (I haven't had my period in two months, so I'm supposed to take 100mg capsules twice a day for 15 days) plus aspirin + ibuprofen (also twice a day at 400mg) and some 500mg vaginal suppositories (they found some bacteria during my Pap smear), which I've been taking for 10 days now.

Everything was fine when I took my dose this morning. But then, about an hour and a half ago, I took my dose (both the pills and the suppository) and now I'm feeling so dizzy I'm actually scared to walk.
The thing is, the paperwork for the Progesterone lists dizziness and drowsiness as side effects, and suggests that if that happens, you could:
- lower the individual dose
- just take the whole daily dose at night or vaginally instead (since you can do it either way)
- potentially shorten the cycle or bleeding duration (which isn't an issue since mine hasn't even started yet)
- start the treatment later in the cycle (it usually recommends starting on day 17, but I'm already on day 19)
Since my cycles aren't regular anyway, that last one doesn't really apply to me.
Usually, these kinds of reactions happen because of an overdose.

Now I'm sitting here panicking because I don't know what to do. My OBGYN saw me earlier this morning, so I can't exactly call him back right now. Does anyone actually know anything about this? Seriously guys, I'm freaking out a little!
😢 😕

Megan Reed said:Look, I’m not claiming anything. 😁 But I see it all the time when certain people (the anti-abortion crowd) start calling a fetus an person. Like I said before, I can agree it’s a living being, but that doesn't make it a person. And honestly, I don't view a tiny cluster of cells from a few days ago the same way I view a full-term baby right before birth. It's just common sense.

And seriously, if a fertilized egg—which is just two cells meeting—is already considered a "human being," then... what, is my egg halfway to being a person already? 😬 I mean, come on...

*

Anyway, going back to those ultrasound photos... nothing about them surprises me. It actually baffles me when people come up to me and go, "Oh my god, I had no idea a fetus looked so... 😁human." Like, seriously? Clearly, they haven't been paying attention to biology class. :-/

Well, I *have* been paying attention to biology, I just haven't looked at those pictures in a while, so I guess I was getting a little rusty.😳

One more thing (since I'm clearly stumped here): does a fetus actually feel pain? Okay, I get that a nine-month-old baby definitely feels 😁pain, but does a one or two-week-old embryo??
I don't exactly have time to go pull out a textbook on embryology right now.😉

Seriously, you guys need to go check out those photos Jessica Perez93 posted.

I honestly had no clue an 8-week-old could already look like a "real" baby.😢

Honestly, that was my exact reaction when I heard the news. I mean, look, the woman clearly has everything she needs to raise another kid, but somehow she finds it easier to just hand over $667 for an abortion instead. I don't get it. What are you even thinking? 😢
