What’s wrong with The Only One? Even then, they messed up by releasing three different versions, and every single one was missing two tracks.

I know what it’s called, but it feels stupid to write out how they were actually being "serious" about an album titled "Total Garbage." 🙂

I remember seeing them back in those years outside the Student Union in a small town in the Midwest. Prlja was announcing they had a live album dropping next week, and when he told me what the title would be, it was the funniest thing I’d ever heard as a fifteen-year-old...

On "The Only One," the typical Let3 stuff just sounds forced. To me, that album mostly marks the start of their mindless obsession with country music (Tazi Tazi, Ženu Varam), cheap vulgarity (PNNK, 999), and some pointless pop-rock (Profesor Jakov, Golub Dinko). Only a few things from that record actually hold up.
I consider them a serious, top-tier band, right up through that live album from... what was it, 1996?

Mark Cruz15 said:What kind of joke is this? Why didn't Cannibal Corpse win?

Because they nominated some mindless live album. If they'd put forward "Eaten Back to Life," it would have crushed the competition...

So look at this: Mastodon is bringing out Baroness and Kvelertak—bands that could practically sell out The Fillmore on their own—yet Iron Maiden decides to bring "Lord of the Lost" for a ticket price north of $70. 🙄

That’s basically what Albini was doing back in the eighties 🙂

Definition of 'edgelord'
edgelord
in British English
(ˈɛdʒˌlɔːd)
NOUN
informal, derogatory
a person who delights in making provocative comments, esp on an internet forum

I think the guy above is just a poser, and honestly, it gets under my skin. But I also feel like boycotting a band over this is going way too far. There was a time when we actually listened to bands with albums titled "thank heaven for little girls," yet nowadays, every single rocker has to be our soulmate and our best friend...

Stumbled upon this—an incredible rendition of Golden Brown, honoring the late Dave Greenfield from The Stranglers, performed by Dave Brubaker and his band. Original

I assume you realize this isn't an ACTUAL performance by Dave Brubaker?

"A couple of people have asked how I made this video so here we go -
I took a clip from a 1964 live version of Take Five (View on youtube...) and made the drum loop by chopping up the intro and turning it from 5/4 into the 3/4 - 4/4 groove that Golden Brown has. The upright bass sound is sequenced from Logic, and the piano part was played in using one of the piano sounds from a Nord Electro 5D. Then I played the sax part over the top (I play a King Zephyr alto and for this I used a hard Rubber Yanigasawa mouthpiece rather than my usual bright Guardala).
The video was then edited using the clip I'd taken the drum loop from."

I don't know... just dusting off my old gear from back when I was living in rural Belarus and popping in a disc. Hard to believe this stuff came out in 2020.
Was spinning Zvezdy this morning.

They played KSET back in February. I missed it. The reviews say the show was incredible, but I’m a cynic—I tend to believe the rumors that live sets are usually garbage.

Watching Zig & Sharko on TV, with Exhorder blasting in the car earlier...

Ugh, new releases ☕

give me nothing. It’s all about hunting down used vintage pressings, digging through flea markets, classified ads, and those little local shops 🧐 (conventions have become way too mainstream)
