I’m definitely heading there tomorrow. I’ve been looking forward to this one so much that I was actually sending pathetic emails to the National Gallery of Art when they postponed the 🙂 last year. Fortunately, I won't be in Chicago on the day of the show, so I can avoid either $33 being disappointed by the performance or staying stuck at home only to find out later that it was actually incredible...
feraltrucker5 just burst in out of nowhere—God knows when, where, or even why... I’m not hating on indie music, I'm just talking about discussions like the one I already commented on...
I honestly can't believe what people are willing to fight about these days🤣
It’s officially started: a holy war between a legendary indie icon and some obscure nobody. Parents, you might want to keep your kids indoors for this one🙂
Jesse Sanchez60 said:LOL, there's no way Grohl actually loves NMN... I don't usually go for this kind of stuff, but watching Grohl with those wide, crazed eyes rambling about how various leaders changed his life is pure gold. 😍
Look, he’s just that inherently likable guy who’s a massive fan of every great band out there, always talking about them with that wide-eyed, kid-like enthusiasm... In that Lemmy documentary, he was easily the most entertaining person they interviewed, even among the rock stars 🙂 (well, maybe aside from Billy Bob Thornton)
He’s so charming and genuinely sweet that everyone just collectively decided he’s a drumming genius because of it. 😳
That concert was a total joke in Chicago. Koca spent the whole time hyping them up using nothing but Dave Grohl’s praise... just pure Dave Grohl promo spam everywhere. 😬
On the other hand, Jello Biafra might draw a few hundred people at most—especially since he already played in Chicago last year—whereas Bad Religion would easily pull in 2,000 to 3,000 fans. I’m not even particularly a fan of them personally, but let's face it...
Well, it's all a mess. The official site is down, but their Facebook page is still active, pushing the Chicago Foam Fest organized by 😁. Apparently, she’s the same lady on the forums who spends her time explaining why Obrad Kosovac is actually worth it... $50 looks like she completely botched the logins 😬
So, how did things actually go down in Chicago? Could you give me a quick rundown? I don't recall seeing any reviews from that show...
EDIT: Ah, I see it now here... Well, looking at this, most of the gripes seem to be about the venue's organization. Did they mention anything negative about the band itself?
As for this concert, I actually like them. I'd much rather catch them playing some massive outdoor festival backed by a major sponsor where entry is free. This specific show... I'll leave that one to the die-hard fans...
I’m actually looking forward to seeing Cypress Hill. I have nothing against talented, gutsy, and original indie bands, but when I head to a summer festival, I want something upbeat and fun. Who really wants to sit there listening to everyone else's misery? 🤮
