Best and worst concerts of the year? in Music ·

*clears throat*I don't have much to say on this...*clears throat*...

Kevin Chavez3 doesn't have a clue. He thinks it's the fault of Prince (the younger). He's just a kid who's seen Glass once...😳

"Adventure" is almost better than "Marquee Moon."😛

I'd give anything to see The Jesus Lizard if it were possible, or The Clash if it weren't...😢

The house... you're born, then the world... Into this World we're thrown, then like a Dog without a bon... then an actor... on loan. Just testing things out here.

hehe, you really can't take someone seriously when they try to rhyme "Into this World we're thrown" with "like a Dog without a bon". 😁

Well, you could always dance to the first one. 🙂

And that Exodus band... they’re just one of those old-school acts that went through a total rebrand, aren't they? Honestly, it feels like they’d be nothing more than a generic opening act for any classic British punk group out there. It's honestly tragic...

Alex Scott22 said:Actually, let me correct myself... the stuff on P. is an original project, whereas the stuff on E. consists of punk covers... the lineup for both bands is more or less the same. Just wanted to clear that up so history doesn't judge us unfairly later...😬

Fine, but that show in San Francisco was Phantasmagoria. The poster clearly said Phantasmagoria, and they weren't playing punk covers—they were playing their usual material, which is even cheesier than the Sisters...🙂

stressee said:the absolute worst was—well, Exodus (or whatever, I’d rather forget) at Viva...

Like we discussed over coffee, that (shiver) thing is still referred to as Phantasmagoria. Just so future generations actually know what you're talking about. 😉

I haven't been to enough shows. I lack the authority to weigh in... 😳

Stupid, boring, and completely pointless test. It told me I was Jimi Hendrix. Give me a break... 🙂

I smoke Elvis Presley's toenails when I wanna get high! 😁

Me? I don't touch drugs. 😳

I remember one track by Green Day that was actually quite good.

David Sullivan4 said:The breakdowns on each Ramones member are spot on. It basically boils down to: 1. alcoholic, 2. junkie, 3. psycho, 4. fascist, or 5. all of the above.

1. Marky 2. Dee Dee 3. Joey 4. Johnny 5. ?! Richie? 😁

Casey Green4 said:Some might compare them to the MC5...

Not even close. The MC5 were militant hippies😍, not punks.

British vs. American punk? in Music ·
Casey Green4 said:Pop music "historians" claim—and they’ve got the monuments to prove it—that Americans were chronologically first.

There’s really no point in arguing this—the first legitimate punk band was the Ramones, emerging in '74 in New York City, so Americans definitely hold the title.

Tufir said everything worth saying on the subject, so I won't waste any more of my time... 🙂
Laura Long5 said:We were tracking a demo the other day when, halfway through the track, I suddenly realized the guitar tone had become incredible—just this pure, hellish screeching grind. Turns out a string snapped and got jammed right into the pickup, making this bizarre noise while he kept shredding... we decided to just leave it in. 👍

So, you basically recorded the American version of "Creep in The Cellar"! 😁

They played Burning Man at the local arena seven years ago, and they were an absolute train wreck. Just aimless, mindless noodling. You actually thinking about seeing them?
